  1. Do you have the amp's Master volume (not the channel volume nor the device Master volume) set to a high level? You'll find the amp Master volume parameter in the same editor panel as the sag, hum, bias....
  2. You need to use the proper power supply - the DC3g. You can damage the device otherwise. Hopefully it's not already damaged.
  3. Note that the tuner only works with Input 1 of any preset. Make sure the Guitar is assigned to Input 1.
  4. Also be aware that firmware 1.7 is not compatible with Workbench HD. You should still be able to use the original Workbench, though.
  5. Are there other tabs in the upper area of the window?
  6. Also, check the control panel item called Line 6 Audio MIDI devices. There are some sliders controlling certain levels of the Pod device.
  7. Check the other tabs/sections of the Sound panel. One is specifically for sound Playback.
  8. Check the Sound item in your Control Panel. Make sure the Pod GX is selected as your playback device. Monitor the sound (headphones, speakers) using the Pod GX outputs.
  9. The next thing I would do is reinstall the JTV firmware. If you have custom models that you want to retain, use Workbench HD first to back up your existing models. If that doesn't resolve it, reinstall the Firehawk firmware. Again, back up any custom presets first.
  10. Try setting the Variax alt tuning knob to Standard.
  11. You could try this preset. Don't change the preset structure; just move/change FX blocks as desired. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/215659/
  12. I know that Line 6 is aware of and working to resolve the Win10 issues. I don't know when they'll get things worked out, but they're on it.
  13. I didn't know that. Can you please provide a link to the website page that states that? I will bring it to the attention of Line 6 and request clarification.
  14. If I were depending on any software applications in order to allow me to 'work', I would make sure those applications are ready to support Windows 10 BEFORE updating my computer. If you really need to be using Pod Farm 2, and the website clearly indicates that it is not yet supporting Windows 10...... why in heaven's name did you update immediately to Windows 10?? I've even noticed complaints that drivers are not yet available for BETA OS releases. I am stunned to know that people would expect 3rd party software developers to develop drivers for beta software. Drivers will be available when the 3rd party developers have had time to ensure that they are reliable. In the meantime, if you have mission critical software that you know is not yet supported.... DON'T UPDATE YOUR OS! (That goes for any 3rd party software - not just Line 6).
  15. I think you should consider the ratings to be relative rather than absolute. In other words, you are more likely (but not guaranteed) to find a tone rated 4 better to your ears than a tone rated 3. But both might actually feel and sound more like a 2 to you. On the other hand, you might consider a tone rated 2 to be great. There are too many other variables that affect the final sound that you hear in your environment, with your equipment, to make tone rating much more than a relative hit and miss. If someone has created and posted their tone using a Gibson Les Paul with the output mode set to amp, and you are playing the tone using a Tele going direct to PA ..... the tone won't likely sound to you the way it sounds to the creator. I suggest you consider all tones in Customtone to be a potential starting point for your own tweaking. Use the (probably few) ones you find reasonably good - regardless of their rating - and don't fret about some highly rated tones that you think sound like crap.

    Bass pack

Before updating use HD500X Edit to save your existing presets/Setlists. Then use Line 6 Monkey to update the device firmware. When prompted, choose to replace existing presets. You also need to update the Edit program. Once the firmware is updated, purchase the Bass pack. Run the Line 6 License Manager to authorize your computer and activate the bass pack models. The new models should become available for selection in a preset in both the device and the edit program. Finally, use the new Edit program to restore your old, saved, presets/Setlists.

  18. Another consideration is condensation. While this is not likely the cause of the symptom reported here, it is a related condition so I'll mention it here. After using the device in high heat and humidity outdoors, condensation inside the device can occur when you move the device indoors into an air conditioned environment. Make sure you allow time for that condensation to evaporate normally before turning the device back on. If there is internal moisture when it is turned on it can cause short circuiting, frying some components. The same thing can happen during cold weather when you play an outdoor event. Moving the device from the warmth of room temperature to the cold outside can also cause the same condensation. Allow time in the cold before turning the device on.
  19. Are you using a Line 6 device? If so, which one?
  20. A block's on/off state cannot be assigned to multiple footswitches. Only one FS can be assigned. When assigning multiple blocks, each press of the FS acts as an on/off toggle for each block. If it was on it goes off, and vice-versa. The initial state is determined by the state of each block when the preset was last saved.

    Reverb?

Also experiment with the ER (early reflections) setting associated with your mic selection. This setting can add a reverb-like effect.

    Helix Looper

The Helix looper has a maximum recording time of 2 minutes (120 seconds), compared to the Hd500X max of 48 seconds.
  23. Technically, no - the HD models are superior from a software modeling and DSP perspective. However, many of the earlier non-HD models still sound very good.
  24. That's very curious. Are you looking at the Tuner in the app or on the device itself? Using the device itself the tuner should not be affected by anything other than the instrument connected to the Guitar input. Using the app I suppose it's possible that there could be some Bluetooth interference from other devices. Can you confirm that this is happening while looking at the Tuner in the Firehawk itself?
