  1. There is an extra D/A conversion in the HD500 when using the analog outputs. Whether this is detectable in terms of sound quality depends largely on your ears and monitors. Also, if you are connecting the analog outputs to an audio interface for recording to a computer, there will need to be another A/D conversion before the signal hits your computer.
  2. No, the POD HD editors do not run on iOS or android.
  3. Yes, the interface is included with all new JTV guitars. I presume the OP purchased a used JTV and the seller did not include the interface.
  4. The license permits you to use the UX1 with different computers. You don't need to de-authorize your current computer first, though there's no harm in doing so.
  5. Yes - you must be viewing the list of topics ion a specific section of the user forums. In this case, you will see the following string (in a single line - not formatted as below) near the top of this page: Line 6 Community → Community Support → Live Sound → StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers Click on the final section and you will be presented with a list of topics. At the right hand side of the page at the top of the list you will see the Start New Topic button.
  6. No, I can't. .... btw...I'm not a Line 6 employee.
  7. No, you can't do this. Changing to a patch in a new bank is a 2-step process. You need to first identify the new bank with one (or more) taps on the bank change switch, then identify the specific patch in that bank by tapping on the specific preset switch. You can't do both in one foot tap. Hence, until both steps are completed the device blinks the lights to let you know you're not done yet. If you don't complete the operation within a few seconds (not user-definable) the device assumes you don't actually want to change patches right now and the display reverts to the current patch because it hasn't been changed.
  8. Those who have automatic updates turned on, aware that Apple does not support iOS rollback, make their own bed. Line 6 has clearly stated that users should not upgrade yet. (Flame on.)
  9. I'm not 100% sure but I think you will have to purchase the hardware independent version of Pod Farm, introduced as of version 2.5. I don't think the free version of PodFarmthat was bundled with your UX device extends to the hardware independent version of Pod Farm. Other users- please correct me if I'm wrong here.
  10. You are correct, especially if your guitar amp does not have a separate input for only the power amp section. If you route the Firehawk output to your amp's normal (preamp) input you should not use any amp model in your Firehawk preset, for exactly the reason you describe. If you want to use the Firehawk amp modelling with your guitar amp you need to connect to your amp's power amp section, which also provides the cabinet so you should select NoCab in theFirehawk preset. For maximum Firehawk use (amp and cab/mic modelling) I prefer to go direct to PA or FRFR speakers, using Line output mode.
  11. Everyone is using the same firmware. Everyone has a different physical guitar. The vast majority of users don't have this problem. Hence the cause of the problem must be in the guitar itself; mechanical or electrical - not firmware.
  12. On further consideration, you would not need an L2t mixer to accommodate the POD analog audio outputs. Since you are not concerned with stereo (just one L2 speaker, right?) you could use both the rear panel Line and Combi inputs for the keyboard and POD. In both cases a stereo input (the Line RCA L/R or the Combi with TRS) will be summed to mono. Or you could force a mono output from the sending device to the L2m and use only one RCA input and a Combi TS. .... but still, I think the L2t vs. the L2m is a great value for $$.
  13. You would not need the L2t for the keyboard. You could use the Line inputs on the rear panel of the L2m. Just two observations: - the L6 Link connection from the POD to the L2m/t speaker is very loud. You may have to turn your keyboard volume way up, or your POD volume way down to get a good balance. Alternatively, you could use the POD audio outputs (not L6 Link) to the L2 speaker, but you may need the L2t mixer for that. - I find the L2t mixer to be very good value for the extra $$. If you ever do want to expand the setup you can do so without an additional $$ outlay of way more.
  14. You can connect your PC to the Helix via USB. The Helix becomes your computer's sound card and all audio from your computer goes to the Helix audio outputs.
  15. You can use the X3 editor (Gearbox) to save individual tones using one of the menu functions. You can also simply drag/drop a single tone from the Gearbox editor window to any folder on your computer.
  16. I've been following the thread(s) that express the frustration and disappointment from Firehawk users re: the lag and noise concerning preset changes. I don't deny that it's a serious issue, and we've been told that Line 6 will release a firmware update to address the issue soon. But there are some users, like the OP and myself, who don't rely on fast, silent preset changes during songs. You'll note that he acknowledged the latency; it's not an issue for him. For me, and the OP, the Firehawk is not only very useable, it offers very good tones and other advantages that he so articulately described. Let's allow a positive thread to exist. Do we really need to hijack a new user's first post - a very positive one - by repeating negative things that have already been (and can continue to be) thoroughly expressed elsewhere?
  17. In the Edit program there is a SEND function. That's what sends the preset from the computer to the HD device. Also, I expect you were just not being specific, but you need the HD Pro X Edit program (not HD Edit) if you are using the POD HD Pro X device.
  18. It will work as you describe if the Variax is connected via VDI and your preset is properly configured for Variax control.
  19. The cd/MP3 input is stereo, but it is passed directly to the audio outputs. It is not converted to digital format and is not available for signal processing in the Hd400.
  20. As you've mentioned there is no right or wrong here. But the recommended settings, based on the design of the devices, would be to either: - use the pre amp models and set speaker mode to Electric guitar, or - use the full amp models and set the speaker mode to PA/Reference.
  21. No. But in both cases (Firehawk and Hd 500X, and most other Line 6 guitar processors) you can create a template preset with the amp and settings that you want and use it as a starting point to copy and customize other presets.
  22. No, there is no global amp setting. You need to choose an amp (or no amp) for each preset.
  23. Yes, your HD500 will act as an audio interface for the hardware independent version of Pod Farm. Pod Farm, though, uses non-HD modelling technology so you won't be able to transfer any tones created in Pod Farm to your Hd500. The tones are incompatible.
