  1. Which version of PodFarm are you trying to use? The X3 Live includes a license for the Platinum version of the original Pod Farm. It does not include any license for the current Pod Farm 2 product.
  2. Another consideration that may or may not be important to you...... The UX2 includes a Pod Farm license. Non-Line 6 audio interfaces do not. If you use the Pod Farm license that came with your UX2 it will not work with other audio interfaces. You will need to purchase the hardware independent Pod Farm license in order to continue using it.
  3. Pod Farm 2.5 - the hardware independent version - will work with the Pod HD acting as an audio interface. But you are right that Pod Farm does not make use of the Pod HD modelling technology. In this case the Pod HD is simply an audio interface. For best results you would send a dry guitar signal (no amp or FX) through the Pod Hd to Pod Farm for processing inside your computer.
  4. Try running the license manager again (now that you have a version of Pod Farm installed) with your Pod HD connected via USB. You also need it connected when you run Pod Farm.
  5. Here is a preset designed for simultaneous guitar and vocals with separate processing for each. You can customize the FX selections and placement, but keep the two paths completely separate; don't place an FX before the path split. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/215659/
  6. There's a simple enough workaround. Copy the preset you want to work on before editing. As long as you don't SEND the overwritten preset to the device it will remain unaffected in the device. Meanwhile in the Edit program you can easily compare the changes to the original, and undo by copying the original again. Not as elegant as a true compare/undo feature but still workable.
  7. The UX1 and Pod X3 included different licenses for Pod Farm. The Pod X3 includes the Platinum version with all amp and FX models. The UX1 license is limited. You would need to purchase the model packs for the UX1 in order to have access to all models without the X3 connected. Yes, you would have access to a large number of tones with AMPLIFi, but there is no PC based editor.
  8. The UX1 is an ASIO device. If you configure your recording program to use a non-ASIO protocol you invite problems. Use the ASIO driver that comes with the UX1.
  9. Any speakers you connect directly to the Pod need to be active (self-powered) speakers. If your speakers are not active you will need to keep your power amp for the speakers and connect the Pod outputs to the power amp inputs.
  10. I ordered a neck and body for a Variax300 about three years ago. Don't know if it needed any special painting. I received it quite promptly, about three weeks if I recall for both neck and body in tobacco burst.
  11. The two cables are not doing the same thing. One carries digital data - the VDI cable - which is how the HD500 controls the JTV. The VDI cable also carries digital audio to the HD500, but that cannot be transparently communicated to the Elevenrack; it must go through the HD500 processing. In order to get the dry JTV guitar signal to the Eleven rack you need the standard analog audio output from the JTV. If you want to connect the processed HD500 output to the Elevenrack input you could do that but that is still a second cable, and would yield inferior results because the output guitar signal is not completely dry. It would at the very least undergo D/A and A/D conversions.
  12. You will need to connect the JTV via VDI to your HD500 so that the HD500 can control the JTV model switching and to power the JTV. You will need to connect the JTV 1/4" output to your Elevenrack Guitar Input to get the guitar signal into the Elevenrack for processing. Do not connect the HD500 audio outputs to anything.
  13. .... Ooops.... On the above post I hit the negative rep button by mistake. I had intended to hit the positive rep button. Apologies to Rewolf48 whose advice is spot on.
  14. There might be a problem with the bundle that you loaded in Step 5 of the first sequence. I notice you did not load that bundle in the second sequence.

  16. Exactly. Placing the VOL FX at the front of the signal chain is essentially the same as adjusting the Vol knob on the guitar. This can greatly affect the amount of gain in the tone.
  17. Since you're new here you may not be aware of the Customtone section of this website (see row of links at top of this page). Search this tone database selecting Spider as your product filter. You might find some good hits. If not, perhaps others will reply here with more info.
  18. See post #374 in this thread, above
  19. Try opening a support ticket, or calling Line 6 directly, to get a definitive answer.
  20. Note that it's a global setting - not changeable per preset. Also, you need to have the Variax connected via VDI, not the 1/4" jack.
  21. "This new amp is way better than my old amp 'cuz I can turn it up to 11 so that's, like, 1 more!" That's what the '% improvement' discussion reminds me of.
  22. You can only switch this setting using the app. You will find the global Model Controlled By parameter on the Variax page of the app. You cannot change this setting on the Firehawk device itself. This means you need to be careful about what state this parameter is in before you shut down the app, because the next time you turn on the Firehawk this setting is retained. If you left the setting on Variax, and do not bring your mobile device (with the app) to your next gig, all of the Variax settings you so carefully stored in the Firehawk presets will be ignored during your gig.
