  1. Yep, that should be good. No there is no way to restore individual presets from a bundle/setlist backup.
  2. I always back up all setlists (not necessarily individual presets) before updating firmware. Then choose to replace existing presets during the update - that's what gives you any new factory presets (e.g. The Variax setlist in this update). Then perform the global reset including the pedal calibration, and restore any customized global settings. Finally, restore any desired setlists from the saved copies and organize accordingly. Fortunately I don't find it necessary to delete all previous Line 6 installations and mess with the registry because I don't have enough PC knowledge or experience to trust myself at that level.
  3. It takes a few minutes for moderators to view and approve the first post by any new user.
  4. The only 'best' way would be to minimize the number of footswitch presses to move you through your planned set list(s). Other than that it's a matter of personal preference as to how you organize them. You might want to organize the banks/patches by song title, by artist, by genre, by tone/sound, ....
  5. Yes, the screen size is the same on the Rack as on the floorboard. They're both 6.2" and 800 x 480 pixels. I would expect scribble strips are the same size also, but that's not specified in the product info yet afaik. And I see no reason why the manual, when available, would be anywhere else.
  6. There is no 'trial' version. You purchase the product and have 30 days to return it for full refund.
  7. The HD Bass model pack works on the POD HD. The Bass Expansion pack is different and works with the older non-HD Pods. I have loaded the HD Bass pack on my POD HD with non problems. It sounds great.
  8. Both paths are stereo. Guitar + Same is identical to Guitar + Guitar.
  9. Not yet. It's pending, but no specific date has been stated.
  10. You should be hearing a very good sound using headphones in Studio mode with Full amps. To eliminate other variables, try using a very simple preset - just a clean amp and no FX. If the problem is clear in that situation I think you should open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 tech support on this.
  11. How are you monitoring the sound when not using the amp?
  12. When using headphones, or recording, make sure the HD500X is set to Studio output mode. Also, if using then1/4" outputs make sure the associated switch on the top panel of the device is set to Line (not Amp). Finally, when set up this way, most people prefer to use the Full (not Pre) amp models because you can use a mic/cab selection. Edit: Also, when recording, make sure you configure your DAW to use the Hd500X and its ASIO driver as the audio input/output device.
  13. I agree with the vocals/mixer into L2t rear panel. But the OP says he wants to use the L2t Acoustic modeling on both guitars. Since it's only available on Channel 1 he would need to use the mixer output for both guitars into CH1. That's limiting because both guitars will then have to share the same volume level as well as Acoustic modeling setting, but that's the tradeoff. The other option would be to get a 2nd L2t and each performer would have his/her own guitar and vocal channel. Connect the 2 L2t via bi-directional L6 LINK to get all input sounds through both speakers. No need for external mixer unless you want panning (stereo separation).
  14. I've never before heard of anyone creating a dual amp patch in this way. I believe it was a fluke, or perhaps a case of mis-remembering what actually happened? If you are ever able to reproduce this reliably please let us know. It would be great to be able to do that.
  15. There is an amp setting that controls the level of signal that is passed through when the amp is turned off. Set that level to 0 to prevent any of the input signal from passing through. Sorry, but I can't remember where that setting is visible. It's among the amp setting pages somewhere - I believe it's called Bypass Level.
  16. 2) I think you may be referring to drag&drop an amp block from one path in a preset to the other path to make a dual path preset with a copy of the amp settings. There is no capability to do this, either in HD Edit or on the device itself.
  17. The UX2 becomes your computer sound card. Connect your speakers or headphones to the UX2 outputs.
  18. You don't have to uninstall anything, but you may want to make backup copies of any custom Pod Farm presets that you have created. After reformatting you will download and install Line 6 Monkey. Run it with the UX2 connected and let the Monkey guide you through the download and installation of the Line 6 driver and Pod Farm 2 (your license will be registered with your Line 6 account). Then run Line 6 License Manage to authorize your computer. Finally, reload your saved Pod Farm presets into the Pod Farm presets folder.
  19. I know you're not happy with the Firehawk and I'm not about to try to change your mind, but I am curious about how/why this was dreadful for you. Is it the sound quality? Workflow? DAW compatibility? Perhaps there is something we can help you with to improve this specific bit of working with your Firehawk, if you're interested.
  20. You can use a PC for recording with the Firehawk. The app (editor/librarian) does not run on PC.
  21. My understanding is that beginning with the Firehawk product Line 6 is moving to a new utility called Line 6 Updater. Firehawk is the first to use Line 6 Updater. I think Helix will be using this new utility, and probably everything new henceforth. Line 6 Monkey has been around a long time; probably time for a replacement utility. (... but this is just my understanding - not an official statement....)
  22. But you are able to record without problems, right? You're just wondering why the settings seem to have to be a certain way in order to make things work properly?
  23. Not trying to be dismissive, but you really need to start by reading the manual. Your immediate questions are answered in the sections on output modes and amp models.
  24. I've also had no problems using the USB connection/driver. Perhaps you're using Windows 10? There is a new driver for all Line 6 devices, many of which were not working properly on Win10.
  25. Set the HD500 Output Mode to Studio - it's a global setting in the setup menus. If you ever want to use the 1/4" outs rather than the XLR, set the associated switch to Line.
