  1. I think he was actually talking about Windows PC vs. Windows tablets. The editor doesn't run on tablets that use a tablet-based version of the Windows OS rather than the full version that runs on the PC. He was talking only about Windows and wasn't meaning to imply anything about the MAC world.
  2. Does your A footswitch work normally in other circumstances? If so, I would reinstall the firmware. Use HD300 Edit to back up your bundle first if you haven't already done so.
  3. Are you following these procedures? http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd300400/video-tutorial-pod-hd300-400-factory-reset-r214 At what point is it failing?
  4. This may be an Inputs problem. For instance, if your preset has Mic selected as an Input there can be some background noise even if there is no mic physically connected. Check all input settings and connections. Also, is this symptom present with all presets or just some? Check to see if your Input settings are Global or Preset.
  5. Doesn't matter what the connection type is; the important thing is that it is an ASIO device. You are correct. A Pod Farm license bundled with a Line 6 product is not hardware independent. It requires the Line 6 product to be connected.
  6. I think the problem may be your Record Input settings. Pod Farm supports recording the dry and/or wet signal. Sounds like your current settings select the Dry option. I think you will find these settings in the Pod Farm Mixer window, and/or in Reaper associated with arming a track for recording.
  7. You should have no problems. It would be best of your friend could delete his registration when he sells it to you, then you will be able to re-register it to your Line 6 account. But that is not necessary. If you have trouble with the registration just contact Line 6 tech support.
  8. Here's a test that should help the diagnosis. Step 1: Record a track with your current setup, playing your guitar or singing into your mic, or whatever it is you are trying to record. When finished, stop the recording. Step 2: Keep the exact same setup as above. Set up a new track for recording. Start recording, but this time do not play your guitar, and do not speak/sing into the mic. Intentionally record silence for the same duration as you recorded in step 1. Step 3: Compare the two recorded tracks. Do the waveforms look the same? Do the playbacks exhibit the same behaviour? Is there any detectable difference in the two tracks? If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. If there is some difference, describe it for us.
  9. If your recorded track is a flat line then it is NOT recording properly. A flat line with no visible waveform indicates silence. That's what you appear to be recording, meaning that mixcraft is not receiving an input signal from the UX2 at the time of recording so it is recording the silence it is receiving. From what you describe, I think that: - either there is a problem with your input settings in mixcraft. It is not being properly directed to use the UX2 as its record input source; or - there is a hardware problem with your UX2 and it needs servicing
  10. You don't need a specific Line 6 device if you purchase the hardware independent license for Pod Farm. But you do need an ASIO-compliant device as your audio interface. That rules out your laptop mic/line in w/Asio4All. Asio4All is not a compliant ASIO driver and is known to cause problems with software that requires true ASIO compliance, like Pod Farm.
  11. Sounds to me like you are recording silence. What are your source inputs for the track(s) you are recording? Do you have the recording input levels set properly, both in the UX2 (mic level) and in mixcraft?
  12. Surely you mean "Since that is the case...". He's just stated, again, officially from Line 6, that POD HD is not EOLed. There's no 'if' about it.
  13. Have you configured mix craft to use the UX2 and it's ASIO driver as the audio recording and playback device? If so, I believe you should be able to select either of the UX2 inputs as the Source Input when arming and recording a track in mixcraft.
  14. That's the one I was talking about!! I'm waiting for April 1 2015. Betcha there's a cable-bot in the works, but only through the VDI.
  15. It's a standard cable; the wiring is the same. Make sure you add the protective housing on the cable ends. Don't just use the RJ-45 connectors. Over time, movement of these loose ends will cause damage to the VDI jacks on the connected equipment. Or, there's this option: http://line6.com/support/topic/958-more-more-added-new-colors-cool-vdi-cable/
  16. Ooops... sorry - I was wrongly thinking JTV-59. Thanks for the correction.
  17. Sounds like your Tuning knob may have somehow rotated one position clockwise. Try removing it and reseating it, taking care that the Model position is at the extreme end of the counter-clockwise range of the shaft rotation. To do this, remove the knob by pulling it straight up off the shaft. If necessary, use a pair of spoons to gain leverage, using cloths beneath the spoons to protect the guitar body. With the knob off, use your fingers to rotate the shaft fully counter-clockwise. Then position the knob above the shaft so that the Model position is aligned with the light/position indicator. Reseat the knob by pushing it gently but firmly down on the shaft.
  18. Correct - Line 6 would know the manufacturing date and engineering specifics based on the serial number, but we don't.
  19. That sounds very similar to a problem I had with an L3t speaker. Mine was repaired under warranty - they replaced one of the speaker drivers inside. But during troubleshooting I found a couple of other things that sometimes caused a problem. Neither may apply two you, but..... - an L6 Link cable could be faulty or just not properly seated/connected. Try jiggling it (if you are using L6 Link). - the L2 speaker firmware may not be up to date. But the only way to update the firmware is using an M20d mixer. If you don't have one this is irrelevant. I would open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 on this.
  20. That's true - you really can't tell at the retail level when a particular unit rolled off the assembly line, unless that info is embedded in the serial number. And to my knowledge it is not embedded in the speaker products. That's why it may be better to get your unit repaired at no cost than get it replaced. First, you won't have a repeat experience; it will be fixed. And second, you'll be taking a flawed unit out of circulation so that nobody else will get the same flawed unit sometime later. Won't that just make you feel all warm and fuzzy?
  21. I doubt that the fan-flawed units are still being shipped. More likely you got an older unit despite what the retailer told you. It could also have been sitting at the local distributor for quite some time, post-Line 6 and pre-retailer. I would open a support ticket and get Line 6 help to make sure you get a more recent replacement or get it repaired at a no cost to you.
  22. You just need the latest update. Each update is comprehensive and includes earlier updates.
  23. The type of pick you use matters too, perhaps more than the cable. I recall that in very early April a year or two ago Line 6 announced a pick-modeling product using some vintage picks. Don't know whatever happened to that.
