  1. Yes, the coming update will work on HD500 devices. It will be released after the HD500X update but it will come.
  2. You can't. His username is still listed among the forum members, and his profile is still visible. What he's done is deleted all his posts and removed his avatar. All users can do that.
  3. When you get a response to your support ticket, ask Line 6 directly whether there are any known issues or other technical bulletins that apply to your device. That's the only way I know to get the comprehensive information you want.
  4. Then what's the problem? The simple suspicion that you might have a problem that's not a problem for you because you don't notice anything wrong? I find that life throws me enough problems that I don't have to go looking for them. :P P.S. A quick google search turns up this: http://line6.com/support/topic/4358-bulletin-59-recall-question/ http://line6.com/support/topic/431-technical-bulletin-059/ http://uk.line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/148223 If you're worried, open a support ticket. Line 6 will quickly tell you if your DT-25 is affected.
  5. I think we need to distinguish between a tech bulletin and an announcement or acknowledgement that there's a problem to be fixed. The tech bulletin itself provides the detailed technical procedures involved in fixing a problem. It makes perfect sense that this is only available to qualified technicians, and is not public domain. The fact that a problem exists in the first place is public domain knowledge. Must be, because the OP knows about the existence of the tech bulletin. Personally I don't know anything about it because I don't own a DT-50 and don't follow that forum. But I presume there have been discussions there about it, and anyone experiencing that issue should open a support ticket. The OP stated that Line 6 says the problem is covered by the tech bulletin. So I don't see any lack of transparency. I guess that's how one knows if they need to have work done. They experience the problem and inquire/research re: its solution.
  6. Agreed. He was a valuable contributor here and I hope we can welcome him back someday soon, if and when he wants to.
  7. Here's the list of devices compatible with Sonic Port VX. http://line6.com/sonicport-audio-interface/specs/ Is your Mini 2 also called Mini with Retinal Display? If so, it is supported. Let us know exactly where your trouble is. If not, it may not be supported. In that case, I suggest you open a support ticket and inquire about a driver update.
  8. Tech service bulletins are available to authorized Line 6 service centres. They are not public domain.
  9. Yes, that should work as long as your audio interface can keep the DI output signal to the POD separate from its return input signal. If they are mixed together I think you'll get feedback.
  10. No, that API is not publicly available. I'm sure Line 6 considers it IP.
  11. You asked the same question in two ways, asking once if it excluded info and once if it included the info. He answered the one in the body of your text, not the title. The answer to the title of your post is no. The answer to the body of your post is Yes, the mix includes the L6 Link data. You will get the 3rd set of info, containing all inputs.
  12. I know .... It's not elegant. But if you hold your nose, it works. And that's really all that matters. ðŸ˜
  13. Yes to the 1st question. No to the 2nd. You're on the right track. The POD becomes your soundcard. Hence you need to connect your speakers to the POD outputs, and the adapter you describe will do it. You also need to configure Cubase to use the POD and its ASIO driver as your audio input and output device. Turn OFF the monitoring feature in Cubase. You do not need another audio interface. And you can also use the POD headphones output to monitor instead of your speakers. It's also true that your monitored sound will be much better if you invest in studio monitors rather than your Altec PC speakers; but you can leave that to a later date if you want to do it at all.
  14. I use the Vintage Pre model as well. But it's not listed among the amps - you'll find it in the EQ section of FX. Use this instead of am amp (i.e. use no amp in your preset).
  15. They are not designed to be used together like that. You're better off to use one or the other at any time. Send the Pod's outputs directly to studio monitors or a mixer/PA, to the power section of an amp, or to the regular guitar input of an amp that does not use amp/FX modeling.
  16. Yes, the Sonic Port (VX as well as original) is definitely geared to iOS devices rather than the desktop/laptop devices. Have you considered the Line 6 Studio series audio interfaces? They are geared more to PC and Mac computers, and include Pod Farm which IMHO is not only far better than Mobile Pod but also runs as a plugin to your DAW. You can easily record the dry signal and then use Pod Farm as a post-processor.
  17. Make sure you have the latest HD500X firmware. A recent update supports what you want re: switching pickup positions within the same model bank.
  18. Based on your plan to use a laptop and to buy Pod Farm I think the GX is a better choice. It includes the basic version of Pod Farm. If you plan to buy Pod Farm Platinum there is a reduced upgrade cost. It allows you to record a dry signal into your laptop DAW and use Pod Farm as a plugin. As for portability, the GX is about the size of your fist - probably smaller. Sonic Port is designed more for mobile devices and includes the Mobile Pod software, which is not as powerful or flexible as Pod Farm and will not run as a plugin on your laptop. On the plus side the Sonic Port VX model includes mics while the GX does not. If you wanted to record jam sessions with yer buds on an iPAD in your backyard in a single stereo take I would recommend the Sonic Port VX with Mobile Pod. For more traditional studio based recording using PC/MAC, standard mics, and multi-tracking using plugins you're better off with the Studio series and Pod Farm.
  19. I believe the X3 Tuner only works with the Tone 1 input. Make sure your patch is set so that the guitar is an input to Tone 1.
  20. Sure sounds like it. Hope you get it resolved with a working replacement. If electronics are going to fail they usually do so very quickly. Sounds like an internal circuitry failure.
  21. It will work with an amp. There's a setting for the 1/4" outputs to match an amp input. You can also select no cab/mic in the Firehawk preset.
  22. No harm in trying a reflash. It might restore the modeling. If you have spent time customizing any models in Workbench you will want to save those before reflashing; otherwise just go ahead and reflash.
  23. No, you won't be able to do that. Both Amplifi and Firehawk USB interfaces are designed to communicate with general purpose computers, not with each other. Similarly, I wouldn't expect two JTV guitars to recognize each other if you connect them together using the VDI jacks.
  24. Well, that's it then. Thanks for clarifying everything for all of us, stusaysmoo. I'm sure Line 6 will get three guys on this in the morning. :D
