Make sure the parameter you are using (e.g. position on a VOL block, Level in the Output block) is assigned to the Snapshot controller. Push/turn the parameter knob to make the assignment. When properly assigned it should have white brackets around it.

Tones are shared in the Customtone section of this website. A link is at the top of this page. You can filter for POD Go tones. Be aware, though, that this is an unmoderated site and performs no tone quality assessment. Anyone can upload any tone they want, and name it or describe it however they want. And their description is accurate, for them, using their equipment in their environment. That doesn’t mean it will sound as expected to you when you listen to it using your equipment in your environment. Variables like the guitar being used, monitoring via different speakers or amps, and many others means that most tones you find and download may not sound good to you. On the other hand, some may sound great. And most will at least provide a starting point for your further tweaking and understanding of tone creation.

I would keep it simple for now. Continue seeking a ‘good’ (for you) tone using just the POD Go. If/when you are able to do that then you can pursue the need/desire to introduce other equipment such as a physical amp or the other audio interface. If you end up being unable to find a good tone using just the POD Go, then it simply isn’t the device for you. You might consider browsing the Marketeplace for tones you like, and purchase some as a starting point for further exploration.

Pod GO Volume Pedal - controls PA but not amp?!?!?!?
silverhead replied to peeweejd's topic in POD Go
Perhaps your VOL pedal FX block is positioned after the cab/IR block in your preset? The signal fed to the Amp Out jack is tapped immediately before the cab/IR block in the signal chain and will not be affected by any FX block after that. -

For recording, I would start by using the POD Go as your audio interface. Connect it to your computer via usb and configure your DAW to use the POD Go with its ASIO driver as your audio input and output device. Disconnect your UA interface. Record direct; do not mic your amp. Connect your headphones (or studio monitors) to the POD Go audio outputs. If you wish you can just do this temporarily for diagnostic purposes. Start with a very basic POD Go preset, just your preferred amp model and its default cab. See if the recording still sounds ‘muddy’. Let us know the results of that and, if requested, we can try to answer further questions.

Can’t say why it won’t import. I would contact the Marketplace vendor/seller.

It might actually be a foot-related issue. When taking your foot off the pedal I think it’s possible that you actually remove the heel of your foot after the toe, essentially pivoting your foot at the ball and hence placing additional pressure on the heel of the pedal as it releases. Check that out. Try consciously removing your heel first and see if the volume increases slightly. In order to take your foot off the pedal without slightly affecting the volume I think it might take a conscious effort to lift your foot straight up and ‘step’ off the pedal, bending at the knee.. Certainly my tendency is to slightly pivot off the pedal.

We can conclude that the press down of the button is working. Otherwise it could not have been detected on startup to force the device into test mode. Beyond that, I’m not sure.

No PODfarm Sounds without UX2??
silverhead replied to schlutopia's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Did you purchase POD Farm 2 separately or was it bundled with your UX2 purchase? If it came bundled it won’t work without the hardware and you will have to purchase a new PF2 license. -

There are two main ways to get in touch: - the support ticket system. You’ve already done that. - Ideascale.com is a mechanism that Line 6 uses to solicit ideas for product improvements. Register there, find the Line 6 section, and submit your feature requests. -

Specifically in this case, do not interpret the crickets that you’ll hear from Line 6 here as further evidence of poor support. They’re not here. Users are here. -
Pass sound (backing track) from computer to amp via Pod Go
silverhead replied to bkvvldmr's topic in POD Go
The USB audio input is sent directly to the POD Go audio outputs. It is not processed by the POD Go DSP. Check your Amp Out setting on the POD Go (Global Settings). Make sure it is set to Main Out, which includes the USB audio input. The other settings taps the signal sent to the amp before the IR /Cab block In the preset, and does not include the USB audio input. If this is your current setting you may want to disable the cab/IR block in your POD Go preset. -
When you restored the backup did you make sure you restored the Global Settings? They are reset to default values during the firmware update. that could explain the symptom.
-
You’re welcome. Glad you’re enjoying your POD Go! Always good to have a backup plan.

You don’t know unless the person who uploaded the tone says what it is in the notes somewhere. Most IRs are purchased from 3rd party providers so once you know what it is you can decide to buy it. But there’s a cart and horse thing…. You won’t know exactly what the tone was configured to sound like until you have purchased the IR…. but then you might decide you don’t really want the tone and wish you hadn’t made the purchase. My advice? Don’t buy IRs associated with Customtone downloads. There are a large number of variables that determine whether h an uploaded Customtone will sound good to you in your environment and using your other equipment. In most cases Customtone downloads are at best a starting point for further tweaking, and in my experience are usually immediately discarded.

It probably won’t sound exactly the same but it is the best way to start. I wouldn’t say that with other devices (e.g. POD HD to Helix) but the modeling technology is the same with the POD Go and Helix. I don’t know how the DSP chips compare technically and there may be other hardware differences (A/D and D/A converters?) that may matter. You may need to do some tweaking but it will be much better than starting from scratch. Of course, as you note, preset design limitations in the POD Go vs. Helix may be the biggest factor in creating tonal differences. I expect that for a simple preset that is 100% replicable in the POD Go it will sound very similar. I’d be interested in hearing the results of some tests. Please come back and let us know. Unfortunately I believe your ProX has a hardware failure. Open a support ticket.
-
That suggests a problem with the ProX device. I suggest you reinstall the firmware to see if this helps. Use the Downloads link at the top of this page. In the Choose Hardware field select POD HD ProX. In the Choose Software field select Firmware. Follow the installation instructions for the latest firmware, v2.62. If the problem persists it is probably a hardware issue. Open a support ticket.
