I always was very satisfied with Carvin gear I've had in the past. I'd use it just as quick as my JBL's and QSC's...

Headphones are definitely more bright for me with my studio phones. Some people use regular style eq's, some use high cut/low cut... I've played mine through a lot of different monitors and have been able to leave global eq alone/off for my Seismic's and the PA, and the Friedman. I only use it if I have to plug into someone else's PA and monitors. My PA is all JBL SR class cabinets with QSC PLX series amps. I used to have Carvin amps and PA and you should definitely be able to get decent sound through them.

If you're wanting a warmer FRFR, the Friedman ASM-12 is a little more warm and amp like than some others out there. Personally, I use my coaxial 15" Seismic Audio powered monitors more than my Friedman now. Love having the bass and treble controls on the back.

Love mine. Like the Fractal stuff I used to own and the Kemper I own, it's a box full of amps and effects. The amps are like real ones, you tweak them, plug them into different cabs until you find your favorites. Some settings and cabs you will love, some you won't. However, it's better than having to buy all those $1000-$10000 and up amps and cabs one or more at a time and then trying to sell them because you can't afford them. Helix and other modelers, I get to keep the good and even the crappy amps and cabs in case I one day grow to need that tone, too. Portable music store...

Yeah, I have an X32 rack mixer and an SD16 digital snake stage box. Both have Midas preamps and I love love love that rig for the ultra portable and even large house PA. The Android 3rd party app puts everyone on Wi-Fi into a router I keep in the rack and everyone does their own monitor mix.

I always uninstall the old version of helix and drivers and the updater before I ever run the new installers.

Yeah, only reason I got rid of the Axe II and the AX8 is I got everything I needed from the Helix and Kemper but with easier interfaces.

Helix amps sound nothing like HD or other POD amps. Gotta agree with user error. I've owned a ton, Axe FX Ultra, Axe FX II XL+, Kemper, HD500, X3 Live, Helix, Vox Tonelabs, etc... Anyone that subs their noses at Helix modeling is either a fanboy of something else, or doesn't know how to use this gear very well. Fractal, Helix, and Kemper are all operating on a high level, and it's really mostly personal preference and such at this point.
