I have two Variax JTV guitars and want to copy all of the settings from the 1st guitar to the 2nd one. I tried to this by saving a Bundle from the 1st one, loading it into the Workshop and then Transferring all of the settings to the 2nd guitar. That seems to have worked a bit: when I rotate the knob with the presets on it (Lester, Acoustic, etc) they are the same on the 2nd guitar as on the 1st guitar. But... The tunings on the 2nd guitar are not the same as the 1st guitar. In addition, the 2nd guitar does not work properly with my Helix. Patches that cause the 1st guitar to change key (electric capo) fail on the 2nd guitar. Any thoughts?

I have noticed that my JTV89 (original), particularly with the HD500x, has gotted very "honky" and piercing in the midrange, at around 1k. This hasn't always been the case. Also, the strat model has gotten more hollow and breathy sounding. I have to put an EQ pedal in front of the Pod and completely cut the 1k band to keep my ears from aching. I have had the JTV89 for about 8 years now. Any chance this might be a side effect of a degrading piezo?

Can anyone tell me the difference between flash memory and firmware? Line6 Monkey tells me that my jtv89 has 2.21 flash memory and 1.03 Firmware. I think the flash is current for my jtv89, but can't find out what the newest firmware is supposed to be. Thanks

Hi everyone, I might have stumbled on a rookie mistake but: how come my acoustic sounds are so lousy, meaning sounding very boomy, digital and nasal, and not nearly as good as I hear others? My setup is the following: - JTV 89, updated to HD models - using normal Jack-Jack cable to - Boss GT8 On the GT8, I can select (for instance) the Full Range model, which should basically entail the same as plugging straight into a PA (where the GT8 then simply functions as DI) Attached is a short sound sample - First: the JTV89, Acoustic position 5 (Gibson model) straight into the GT8, Full Range model, all EQ at 50%, no other processing than a little bit of hall reverb- - Then: similar, but with the 'Acoustic Processor' of the GT8 engaged. It does get brighter, but it doesn't get much nicer beautiful. In both cases, the acoustic 'feel' is there, especially with single notes, but it doesn't get nearly as realistic as I've heard other people have their JTV sounding (on Youtube for instance, next to the Line6 Demos) What do you think? Is it a cable problem i.e. should I use the VDI cable for acoustic stuff?ps Ps, I had some trouble updating to the HD models, but everything else seems to be fine. Acoustic-JTV-test.mp3

Hello all! We just posted a new video for the JTV89F and POD HD500X on the GearTunes site and you're invited to come on by - it's up on both of the following pages via the red "Video" tab. The HD500X page also includes a "Presets" tab where you can download a zip of the sounds used in the video... http://geartunes.com/gear/guitars/jtv89f/ http://geartunes.com/gear/multi-effects/pod-hd500x/ Cheers ~ Doug;)

I hear its true that the new series of 2013 JTV's have the previous issues fixed? Is This true? IE? Is the switching problem fixed on the JTV-59? The neck on the 69? Thanx

HI, I'm considering purchasing a JTV 89. My hangup is that I don't know if I can do open tunings on this guitar, which is a deal breaker/deal maker for me. I know there are other models which will do this by default, but I don't like the look or the strat and LP style necks associated with these models. I also know that the 89 won't do open tunings as an out of the box feature like other L6 models. So to elaborate, I would like to know if I can program the guitar for the open tunings I want. I play a lot of drop tuning, shredder type stuff as well as open tuning, fingerstyle acoustic stuff. So the guitar must be able to do both with equal facility. Searched this on the forums, but no luck finding an answer. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
