Hey all, So this weekend my HX stomp's rotary encoder #2 (of 3) went bad. The switch mechanism either gave out or was crushed internally, not sure. However, it stopped receiving button presses on encoder 2 under the screen. Long story short, I spent hours looking up posts, parts, sites, and came across what seemed like a compatible match. I soldered in the part a few moments ago and it works like OEM! I hope this helps anyone looking for the part. With ALLL that said, I can't guarantee that his works for the Helix as it does the HX. I've taken apart both units a few times for maintenance, however I just can't recall what was in the Helix Floor. Likely the same part. Here's the info: Digi-Key Part Number: PEC11R-4015F-S0024-ND Manufacturer: Bourns Inc. Manufacturer Product Number: PEC11R-4015F-S0024 Description: ROTARY ENCODER MECHANICAL 24PPR Encoder Type: Mechanical Output Type: Quadrature (Incremental) Pulses Per Revolution: 24 Actuater Type: Flatted D 6mm Detent: No Built in Switch: Yes Mounting Type: Panel PCB Orientation: Vertical Termination: PC Pin DigiKey Link: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/bourns-inc/PEC11R-4015F-S0024/4499668?utm_medium=email&utm_source=oce&utm_campaign=4251_OCE23RT&utm_content=productdetail_US&utm_cid=3294583&so=79660503&mkt_tok=MDI4LVNYSy01MDcAAAGJeZwhRZlHpMczuFUKJJnBAI1cw3UpEiZQU9lj1m6djk3uIrKIfkkv702-v2drrxYburU4cGCOMTLMqBRAgNp_JnbIz01ZS88mDLPy61Z9

Hey guys, I'm still getting used to the transition to using a multi effects unit after being used to pedals for a long time. I know generally to dial in a sound on an unfamiliar pedal you 'start at 12 O'clock and go from there.' My question is when you load an effect, are the control parameters considered "12 O'clock" when the bar graphic is half full, or when the knob is in it's default state. Thank you!!

In my case on Helix, If I turn the phone volume near 3oclock degree to maximum, I can listen the noise. I did it with no connection on any devices, jack, amp blabla anything. I turn off every fx inside the preset and make the input volume to 0db(It means I check it with no input). However without all my effort, I still can listen the noise. I check the headphones and connecting jacks but no problems are found. Is it only happen to me or happen to every helix devices?

There are a number of products available to clean pots and faders. One is 99% Isopropyl. DeOxit D5 or one of the other Cramolin brand pot cleaners works well. Also, Tri Chem makes/made a plastic safe contact cleaner for pots and there's Blue Shower by Techspray, L.P. Pull the plastic knobs up first. Spray onto a cotton swab and let it drip down the shaft. Work the pot to work in the cleaner. Canned air is good for blowing dust off and getting the cleaner to dry quickly. Do not use WD40, that will just gunk up over time.

My brand new Variax has had only intermittent success when I've used the switch to go from mags to modeling. Oftentimes it sticks when I use it, and sometimes I can depress it several times yet still the thing won't switch modes. This can happen while switching from/to either the modeling or the mags. I seem to notice a higher success rate if I remember to hold the switch down for a couple of seconds before releasing it. Other than the problem stated it seems properly installed, and it doesn't wobble or anything. Questions: Is the switch intended to operate in the manner described so as to curtail inadvertent switching while playing? If not, should I be worried? (It is still in the return period, so I could ship 'er back for a replacement model.) Is there a simple fix? THANKS in advance for your help! Mike

Greetings! Happy new year! My sweet Hd500x has several problems: The 4th rotator (under the LCD screen), the tap, up and down and and the fs5 footswitches are almost dead. I live in Greece and Line6 lists only a shop 600km far.. 1. Any good diy guides to repair.. or 2. e-shop in Europe to find Heavy duty replacement buttons and knobs or maybe the footswitch pcb 3. Should I try using compressed air or liquid cleaner, above or below the surface? 3. any other suggestions would be welcome

So I have the Line6 POD HD500 and it has a problem that I can't fix. A lot of times the volume starts to rise or fade without me moving the volume knob and the indications on the POD's screen is doing the same. So I was wondering if any one of you have the same problem or know how to fix it. Will it get fixed if I change the knob that connects with the control board?

Hello guys, first post here :) , 1 year ago i bought a used Pod hd (bean), it had a broken headphone input (which i already fixed ^_^ ) and a broken knob ( the one that has a number 2 on the right side). What kind of encoder/knob is that one? there are different types and I don't want to break anything or make it worse,I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi all, was wondering where i can get a pot for the guitar volume knob on the AX2? Recently bought a used ax2 with a floorboard for the low price of 100 dollars. Im pretty happy so far, but the guitar volume knob is broken clean off, so i need a new pot. According to this thread the specs for the pots are 10K, linear, 25mm, D shaft pot. A quick search on both ebay and mouser shows that there are pretty much none available that match the specs. The line6 store also dont have any in stock right now. Does anyone know where i can get a potentiometer to replace my old one with? Also, does anyone know where i can get new pushbuttons for the floorboard? the "Channel A" and "Channel B" buttons work if i roll my finger on the switch just right. I did find a listing on ebay that seems to match fairly well, but if anyone knows the exact specs that would be fantastic. Thanks. - Sondre/RageNorge

My POD HD 400 automatically activates the "preset" knob which I use as a Reverb knob for my effects. It doesn't only modify the amount of effect by taking it to 99% instead of the 10% I usually have it set up, but it even changes the kind of reverb (I usually use the "room" reverb, but it goes to "plate" on its own). This is the first time it happens. I tried updating the firmware and the flash memory with the Line6 Monkey, but the problem is still there. What else could I do to solve this problem? Have you heard of something similar on other Line 6 products? Thanks in advance for your help on this.

Create a selectable second operating mode for joystick: In second mode the rotation is enabled only when the display shows the list of amps and effects or the list of patches. In the normal navigation screen of a patch the rotation is disabled. If you want to change an amp of effect in the patch first you push the joystick then select a voice from the list rotating the joystick and push again for confirmation. I think this is a way to avoid accidentally changes. If you like my idea please vote for it. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Rotary-joystick-knob-new-operation-mode/805311-23508?submitted=1

Hi everyone, I have questions about some configuration on the HD500X, 1 - Is this possible to Lock the AMP knob ? let me explain : you configure your preset. you move on stage and, bad luck, your guitar cable move one of the HD500X amp knob. It happens to me a lot of time. so i want to FIX\lock my preset knob (master include) 2 - Is there a delay bypass like those on the Stompbox DL4 ? With the DL4 stompbox after activate the bypass, when you switch off the delay, the effect still continue to his end, it s very usefull because when you juggle with lots of preset, it will not cut your delay effect. actually, i managed to handle this with delay + reverb preset. but it s not always simple to configure. Thanx

Hi guys, I've just got my second Pod XT Pro rack unit and I'm having an issue with it. You know when you're in a preset and you turn one of the knobs (drive, treble etc) the screen changes to reflect the change by showing you graphics of the knobs and then reverts back to the display showing the title of the preset? Well mine sometimes flicks between these two pages when I'm not doing anything or touching anything. I think the culprit might be the Drive pot because sometimes I can see the graphical representation of this pot moving on its own and I'm nowhere near it! Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to rectify it? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, Recently acquired this amp and had a bit of an issue with the rotary function of the preset knob being a bit temperamental. Now it's chosen to stop working all together. However, the push to edit function of the knob still works. Any suggestions? Alex

I have a JTV-69S that is about a month and a half old. I was cleaning off after a big outdoor festival gig this weekend and the silver top of the selector knob just fell off! There doesn't appear to be any way to snap it back onto the knob. Does any one know if this part was glued in? I would like to do a simple repair on my own if that's possible. I have 4 gigs this next week and I can't really afford the downtime to send the guitar in for warranty repairs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
