  1. I cannot connect to my POD HD 500X with my Mac. I have Big Sur OS now, but may be updating it to the Monterey soon. I have tried changing the settings to allow connections from the POD HD500X, and disabling encryption. I have tried different cables, but it will connect to my UX2 with the same cables, so I knew that probably wasn't the issue. I am at a loss, and my wife's PC laptop is too slow. It keeps telling me it doesn't detect a POD HD500X connected. Any help? I have searched the threads, but all I can find is what I've already done (changing the settings) but it didn't work. Thank you.
  2. I have a late 2009 MacBook Pro model 5,3 running Mac OS 10.9.6 (Mavericks) and using the Firewire 400 interface with a MOTU 8Pre Audio Interface. The 8 Pre has a single MIDI port (IN/OUT) that I have been using to connect my Floor POD Plus to the laptop running the Vyzex Editor/Librarian. Everything was fine...I would start up Vyzex and the Floor POD Plus would be found and the download from it would commence and I could do all of the great things the editor facilitated. Then the power supply assembly of my MOTU interface quit working and the MOTU unit would not even turn on, much less process any audio or MIDI data. I replaced the power supply assembly and the MOTU seems to work fine - all the inputs and outputs work as before...except...now, when I fire up the Vyzex software, it does not find my Floor POD Plus. I've checked, changed, and verified over and over all the Mac OS Audio/MIDI settings. The OS is seeing and recognizing the MOTU interface MIDI port. I have other MIDI ports being used by other equipment and they seem to work fine in the Mac OS. The Vyzex software error messages tell me to reset the MIDI IN/OUT ports in the software, which I do and still get no recognition of the Floor POD Plus. I employed the MIDI Monitor feature of the Vyzex software and see MIDI data being broadcast by the Floor POD Plus when I move the volume pedal, press any foot switches, or turn any of the knobs. I got a stand-alone MIDI Monitor program and installed it on the computer, and again, I see MIDI traffic on the bus from the Floor POD Plus. So the Floor POD Plus MIDI OUT function seems to work, but the Vyzex software is not seeing it. I don't know if the Floor POD Plus MIDI IN is the problem such that it isn't seeing the interrogation message from Vyzex and doesn't know to respond to the message, or if it is something to do with the Vyzex software setup. Now, more often than not, the Vyzex software freezes because MIDI OUT data from the Floor POD Plus is swamping the software MIDI interface. This is driving me insane. I've reinstalled the MOTU Interface drivers. I've resinstalled the Vyzex software. I've changed out MIDI cables attaching the Floor POD Plus to the MOTU Interface. I don't know what else to try since it worked before the MOTU Interface power supply failed. Is there a way to completely reset the Floor POD Plus so that the MIDI IN/OUT port is reset to some factory default condition. Maybe there is a MIDI Buffer in the unit that needs to be cleared. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
  3. Hello, I just recently sold my ZOOM G5 and bought a Line 6 POD HD500X instead. The way that I would record using my ZOOM G5 is I would plug the USB into my macbook pro -> Open Garageband -> Input preference: ZOOM G5 -> Output preference: Built in Speakers. I was hoping it would work out the same with the line 6 but all I experienced was errors after errors: 1) No automatic detection I had to update everything through Monkey in order for the macbook to detect a USB input 2) Although the Macbook detects the MIC (Input sound of the POD HD500X) Garageband seems to have no signal what so ever, even if I have input set to the POD in preferences 3) I tried to solely use the POD HD 500X as both input and output and NOT even then the garageband detects the input signal. I have Macbook Pro macOS Mojave 10.14.1 (13-inch, Mid 2012) !!!!!!!!POD HD500X Edit is not supported for this OS!!!!!!!!!!!, Processor 2.5Ghz Intel Core i5. Please help, I am very frustrated it's been only a few days since I bought this and I'm wishing I never did.
  4. So I just recently reacquired a DT25 (head this time; had a combo a few years back). When I connect it via midi to my MacBook pro (using the DT Customizer) I can't get it to do what I want. For example, when I am on channel A, Voice 1, when I change the Blackface Double to a Blackface Deluxe Vib on the Customizer, instead of staying on Voice 1 the amp automatically switches over to Voice 3, even if the Customizer is set to Voice 1. I don't ever remember having this problem with my combo when I used the iPhone Customizer app. What am I doing wrong? Is it me or is the Customizer not up to par? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. So received my new 2016 MacBook Pro. Naturally one of the first things I try to do is install the Edit software for my HD500x Once I get to the installer location, I get an error message saying that I am unable to install the software to my hard drive and need to be running OSx 11.5 or higher. Im running OS Sierra 11.12.1 included is a screen shot of the error.
  6. I just picked up a new, though several years old, James Tyler Variax from a dealer when I was on vacation. In getting it home, and just now getting the time to play with it, download the WorkbenchHD, and have some fun. But I ran into a problem. The cable to connect the guitar to my MacBook Pro won't work. The older versions of the MacBook had a CAT5 port on them, but the new one doesn't! Any help on how I can accomplish this? Please let me know ASAP and I would appreciate it if you would also copy it to my email at ztimn8r@gmail.com so that I'm sure to get it. Thanks so much for your help! Have a great week!
  7. Hello! First off, I really enjoy using your products. I own a toneport ux2 that I've had since about '09 and it still works great! I've had to update drivers when I update my operating system, but other than that, I have had to do nothing as far as maintenance - I have absolutely no complaints at all. Anyway, about 5 years ago, I bought a ux2 for my mother to use with her MacBook Pro. (She is a phenomenal singer by the way...) She essentially has the same set up that I have used and enjoyed. Well, I have struggled to make it work with her computer for years now. I am finally at my wits end...! Here's the scenario... She has: MacBook Pro (MacBook Pro 8,2) with a 2 GHz Intel core i7 processor Memory is 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Running OS X 10.6.8 The toneport ux2 was purchased in late 2010, around the same time as the computer. The software that came with the unit wouldn't work with the computer for some reason. I have the same setup from '09 and it was really a plug and play situation, everything worked great and still does. Today I was finally able to locate the correct drivers to allow the ux2 to work with her computer - finally a victory! Now, the computer itself recognizes the ux2 as a viable piece of hardware, lists it in system preferences as both an option for sound input and output and lights up normally. Sound is sent through the ux2 just fine and is sent through her studio speakers that are hooked up to the back of the ux2, again in a normal fashion, just like it's supposed to. The problem comes from the gearbox software, which does not seem to recognize the ux2 hardware. I can load the gearbox software as if it was hooked up to the ux2 (which it is) and it loads fine and the screen looks right once it loads, but it still doesn't seem to be able to recognize and input signal coming from the ux2. Yes, the usb icon is blinking. All she has plugged into the ux2 is a bluebird condenser mic. But for some reason, the signal from that mic or any other mic is just not recognized or processed by the ux2. I can go into her system preferences on her MacBook Pro and select the ux2 as her input and output options - The ux2 itself is listed and recognized by the computer as viable input and output options, but no sound or input signal is recognized by the ux2 gauges or is recorded by her recording program. She is using GarageBand as her recording software, which is also what I use on my similar setup as well. I've looked online and on line6 forums to try to find people describing similar problems, which I have found a few, but most of the links in those older forums describing how to take care of the problem(s) are no longer valid or even exist at all. So...can you please help me?? I really want and need to get this working for her! My father (mom's husband obviously) has recently passed away and has devastated my mother - she needs something to help bring her life in balance again. The one constant in my mother's life has always been her music and she is depressed enough with everything else that has been going on in her life without having to stare at her non-working recording hardware that just sits on her desk, mocking her - do you know what I mean? I am trying to be the good son and take care of this situation but it just keeps fighting me. Every time I overcome one obstacle another one pops up a little further down the line, keeping her from being able to sing, record, and escape her "normal" life. I'd giver her my setup, or buy her something new but I just can't afford it right at the moment. Can you Please help me?? What do I need to do to get her going? Any help would be Greatly appreciated!! Thank you soooo much for the help and understanding...!!
  8. Hi I'm new to UX1 and have been having a load of trouble getting going... I was using MBox2 with Pro Tools Le but after installing Mavericks it stopped working (a common problem I have discovered) so I researched and found that UX1 is supposed to be fine with Mavericks. I have installed everything as per instructions and have authorised computer and device with Line 6 licence manager. If I try to log in with Line 6 monkey, it tells me I'm not conected to the internet (even though I am and I can log in on the line 6 site) then when I fire up Pod Farm2 I get the following error message - 'pod farm2 - pod farm failed to initialise L6twxy framework (code0x8000e00a)'. I don't have a clue what to do about that It's starting to do my head in. Any suggestions or tutorials that might help me bearing in mind I'm not a total technical moron but I'm not a techie ether
  9. I am using hd500x plugged in directly via USB to a Macbook pro. I get the sounds. Both the guitar and the computer playback sound fine. However, volume controls on the mac does not seem to work. I tried the slider under the sys preferences > sound (hd500x selected as output device), but that does not change the output level either - mac's volume change effect plays each time I play with the slider, but its volume is always the same.. Volume knobs on the pedal are set to reasonable levels. master volume knob just turns up everything (computer + guitar), while amp knob adjusts the guitar. Even when I max the amp volume out, guitar output is much quieter than the computer, which means I need to turn the computer down, which I cannot do. Does anyone have this problem?
  10. just bought new pod hd 500x, loaded tone monkey, downloaded newest drivers for mac's, downloaded tone edit. pod sync was fine, and I'm able to edit tones. After I'm on for a bit, tone edit crashes. I can reopen tone edit, and then re-sync the hd, but I would Love to fix the problem. Anyone having the same issue? Thanx!
  11. Hello Everyone, my first time posting to the forums. I've done a quick search on this and haven't found anything that gave any answers to my question....but sorry if this has been already answered and I just overlooked it. Anyway.... I recently purchased a Spider Jam combo amp and been trying to figure out how to connect the damn thing to my brand shiny new Macbook Pro? Do I need to go through the SD Card, or is there some sort of wires/cables like USB I could use? As for software on my Mac (OS X 10.8.4), for right now I'm just gonna use Garage Band. Mainly what I'm hoping to do is record my guitar to some of the backing tracks provided on the amp, and then share them with my Guitar Instructor. Any help or info about this would be greatly appreciated :)
