It arrived yesterday, was all good, but today it has been repeatedly freezing. When it freezes I still get sound, but no buttons or footswitches do anything at all. Unless I reboot, which obviously won’t be good enough on a gig, Anyone else experiencing this?

Many Customtone patches are set very high and promote clipping. A few ideas... if you use the 1/4 output, try setting it to instrument rather than line if you use the xlr out, set to mic, not line set the input pad to ‘on’. All the above are in Global Settings Then, on the patch, add a gain block at the very beginning of the signal chain, set to -10db (at least initially, though it may only need -5db to control the clipping...it all depends on the patch itself) add another gain block at the end set to -3db. If you do all this the patch will be quieter but should create no clipping. If you get some patches from someone like fremen, he sets them up carefully to avoid clipping. You can use those as a guide as to how loud a patch might ideally be.

I love the Andy T 3 patch. What a great lead sound. Plus the Ingrids and the Brit Trems. This is a very well put-together set of presets. Thanks Fremen.

My favourites are the Michael Britt patches. They’re fantastic. I also like patches by Fremen and Glen Delaune. Did not really like the ones by 3Sigma.

I just bought a 15ft one from btpa. I think it was a bit over a week, and it’s very good quality. The cable is soft and lays nicely.

I got a Mission pedal a few weeks ago, and it exceeded my expectations. It's works and feels great. If you get the option without a spring, it would work fine for volume, wah, etc.

The best way to deal with this is to under-promise and over-deliver. It's a question of managing expectations so that people are not disappointed, in this case by the timing.

So it's 'an exact copy of the Alto', other than little details like different amplifier and different speakers. Hookay then.

I find the tuner in 2.3 to be no different from before, i.e. adequate for non-professional home use.

Several threads about this. To get the tuner to work you need to roll back the tone knob on your guitar, change to neck pickup, hit the strings gently, hold your breath and stand on one leg. Easy if you have the time.

I have to say, I agree the Helix backpack is top notch. Very well designed and well made.

Me too. The thing I miss most about my old pedalboard is the Peterson tuner. With that I could easily check tuning during the bridge of a song and be sure I'm in tune by the time the chorus comes round. With the Helix there's no way. I think it's fine if you're at a blues jam or rehearsal or in your living room. But on a real gig, with expectations of professionalism, I can't risk it.

I agree (if you meant me)... I like to check tuning sometimes during a song, before the chorus ends or whatever. It has to be quick and reliable, and the Helix isn't really going to do that. Sometimes I'm on a pit band gig and you have just a few seconds to check tuning, silently, and without rechecking audibly before you play again. I really wonder whether some of the people who find the Helix tuner acceptable are just using in less pressured situations. It's fine if you can take your time and fiddle around. I don't usually have that luxury. These days I'm using the tuner on the GLXD, which does tye job much better.

It works fine if you select a particular pickup, turn the volume down, turn the tone knob down, play gently, and take lots of time. In other words it's good enough for playing at home. Adequate for that purpose. It is not good enough for gigs though.

I would recommend maybe waiting until you play the JTV 59 first. The stock pickups it comes with are actually very good, in my opinion.

Expressing an opinion about the tuner gets people quite excited around here.
