Bottom line is there is only one tempo to sync to. So if you wanted one delay at 1/4 notes at 120bpm and another for a different song at 1.4 notes at 135bpm, you can not do that. For that kind of thing, you'll need ms values, but then you can't tap the tempo in if you need to change it. Hope that helps.

Everybody's just jealous because they can't afford both...

I want the Yamaha symphonic chorus effect in Helix! But I have to say, Trinity does it for me. And I'm using it now that Chorus is back in style again!

yup, the "tuner sucks" argument always come down to people with "golden hearing" or some such. I have doubts about it every. single. time. The few ms between initial attack and note bloom on my guitars will sometimes see a difference in pitch unless I hit them really lightly. And let's not even go to the whole fretting a note thing... Many of the tuner complainers are measurebaters. (not saying any of YOU who posted here are, of course...)

Or just use Dropbox.

tube preamp right after the cabinet adds a nice flavor to whatever that cab block or IR is doing.

The last "10%" is sometimes just a function of volume. We often end up using modelers because we can't be as loud as a tube amp. When you're not as loud, the air isn't moving the right way, and you'll never be at "100%".

All due respect, yes. You actually are. If you are picky enough to recognize when you can only get 90% there and are passionate about that other 10%... and are willing to add another very expensive piece of gear to the puzzle... ...you are a tone engineer... Or at least you should become one.

Helix is designed for a pro to turn it on and play a show. Anything that gets in the way of that is bad. Back up your presets. problem solved. I also agree with the "not only no, but HELL NO" to this kind of feature.

What specific amps? Keep in mind that there are actually very few different kinds of amp circuits, and the sound you want may be available in a different amp. For instance, if someone makes an awesome marshall clone, it could be that you'll get your sound from one of the Marshall models in there. But I think that using both would be great fun. I'd rather have an AX8 along with Helix if I could swing it, but that's just me.

Dude used the word hysteresis in casual conversation. You win the internet, sir.

Too much low end is often the problem here. Are you cutting LOW end in your cab block?
-
Upgrade to the very latest firmware and everything before you do anything. Learn to make your own patches and you'll get the most from it. Always separate your amp and cab, don't ever use the amp+cab stuff. Drink lots of fluids. Excercise regularly. Wear clean underpants.

I have had no such issues with my Rack, been running it since Dec 2015. in fact, I haven't even had issues like yours with BETA firmware! Have you re-flashed the firmware, re-set everything, loaded patches and Its back in? Also, did you have Control on during a firmware update? That could cause a problem. Disconnect Control during updates.

Fishman amp, Power Engine 60, helix connection question
PeterHamm replied to 3leggedbrain's topic in Helix
yes, but I bet some great parametric EQ, an acoustic guitar IR and some judicious LA Studio Comp in Helix will BLOW YOU AWAY! It's the best acoustic guitar preamp I've ever used. -
Fishman amp, Power Engine 60, helix connection question
PeterHamm replied to 3leggedbrain's topic in Helix
Don't think you need the Artist's preamp at all, just think of it as an FRFR and use it like that. The mic could be run on its own path and out one of the sends to the Power Engine and not be in the rest of your chains at all. Easy. -
it is also the very best way to move all your patches from a main unit to a backup unit.

Word Clock is ONLY in the Rack. Never was in the floor. AES/EBU in is also only in the Rack, as is buffered Guitar Out, and also (unnecessary on floor) connections for all 3 EXPs as well as a switch connection for EXP 1 with a Mission pedal so equipped.

I wonder what L6 has in store for Helix and Summer NAMM?
PeterHamm replied to Lachdanan0121's topic in Helix
HA! yeah... well, you could buy a used HD Bean... I think it has auto Z on the input... which can be set manually. -
Well, since you can dial it up anytime you want, why would they need to do this? I don't understand. So you go to guitar amps to get it... big deal...
-
Try the current bassman amp with a true bass cabinet. Thank me later.

Too much measuring and not enough music-making...

Summer NAMM is really not a big deal. A lot of companies don't even go. I predict that they will neither introduce new hardware nor software. They will hype Helix Native which will hopefully have been available 2 weeks by then. They may have a minor firmware update, but I think it's too soon. New hardware? I STILL think there's a market for a Helix bean, but doubt it will ever see the light of day. I'd like to see a very inexpensive interface that is optimized for Helix Native, myself. I think that would have some appeal out there.
