When doing this with my Helix I use the L/MONO Main Output. I don't know for sure about the QC, but I'll bet the manual has a recommended method of connecting to a Power Amp. Use that. With Helix, the main difference between using a SEND vs the Main Out is the ability to use the Volume Knob to control the Output Level. Also, note that there is a significant volume drop between using the Mode Switch on Power Amp In vs FX Loop. I have no clue why that is. If the only reason you're using the Power Amp In setting is to take the Cat's FX out, just turn the FX OFF! I use one main preset (configured for 4cm) with snapshots that select the Cat's 6 Banks. I use the remaining two snapshots to turn OFF the Helix FX Loop Block and activate one or another of two of my favorite Helix amps. Those snapshots also send MIDI to the Cat that turns off whatever FX might have been ON in the previous snapshot. IDK if that's possible with the QC. Again, RTM time! Of course, you COULD just push the buttons. Just sayin'.

Someone over on TGP in the D&M forum asked about more bass stuff and DI (Digital Igloo/Eric Klein) responded "More bass stuff coming." That's as close as you're going to get to an answer.

Global Settings>MIDI/Tap>MIDI PC Send = OFF. This prevents Helix automatically sending the PC# of the preset. It does NOT affect CommandCenter settings.

Got no idea about "pedalstate" in the "code". Once you've configured as above, the preset shouldn't matter, it's GLOBAL. Maybe it refers to Global Settings>EXP Pedals - mine are set to GLOBAL for both. Maybe yours are different, and the purchased preset was otherwise???

When I tried your presets I noticed that after testing the SS switches in TEST SS the "modified" status indicator worked as expected. After switching to DESTINATION and back, TEST SS loaded as "modified". The changes should have been discarded between preset loads. I deleted your presets from my HXS and created a new one, then copied it, changing only the Preset switch so they'd toggle back and forth. The problem went away and the behavior was consistent as in my original test. IDK what's happening, but it seems like something in your HXS modified my original Preset. Try the attached presets and if the bad behavior recurs check your Global Settings>Preferences - mine are set to SNAPSHOT EDITS = DISCARD and SNAPSHOT RESELECT = RELOAD. These settings should NOT have anything to do with the problem, but MAYBE that's where the "bug" is coming from? The presets are using103 and 104, change as necessary. EStomp1.hlx EStomp2.hlx

If you advertise that you are a "Certified Repair Facility", doing the little PITA jobs comes with the certification. Where else you supposed to take it - "Joe's Lawn Mower and Computer Repair"? My guitar tech would rather be doing headstock repairs on Les Pauls, but he'll do a setup on your Squier Affinity too. It might take 3 weeks though...

Really? PMS Electronics??? LMAO!

The following is offered with best intentions. I hope you understand. I grew up in NYC. I know about "attitude". I've read a lot of your posts. You have "attitude". If you take attitude to someone from whom you hope to receive service, that person is liable to see you as "trouble" and be disinclined to help. As someone who has been on the service side of the counter (computer service, motorcycle repair), I've had the experience of someone bringing in a device for service, then blaming me when I call back and tell them all of the other things that need fixing. Add that experience to "this guy sounds like trouble" and you can BEGIN to understand why I'm no longer in the service business. All of that said, some people are dishonest, incompetent A-holes. If you're certain that this applies in your situation, contact someone from L6 - maybe go over to the TGP D&M Forum and drop a PM to Frank Richotte. He's helped a lot of folks whose frustration levels have reached critical. I'd leave out the comparisons to Chinese Christmas tree lights. ;-)

I tested R-FUZZ. Fails as described. I'm going for corrupted preset on this one. Load the attached preset Test SS Chng. This is a partial re-creation of the basic functions of R-FUZZ. Note that the snapshots change on PRESS, as they also do on your R-s-S, so that can't be the problem. I suggest that you try to re-create the preset from scratch. PITA, I know, but without spending my whole day troubleshooting every aspect of your somewhat complicated configuration, which works fine on your nearly identical R-s-S preset, I don't know what else to suggest. More than 3 years since last firmware / update for the PC 212+
rd2rk replied to Borgelin79's topic in Powercab
Fortunately, I have neither expectation of nor need for improvements, it works as advertised. For those who have such expectations/needs, yeah, be warned! -

AFAICT you are correct, L6 has abandoned the Powercab line. Many of us who hang out on TGP in the D&M Forum periodically attempt to rattle their cage about it and have been doing so for the past two years. While support for Helix over there is excellent, with a number of L6 folks contributing regularly, no one will even admit that the Powercab line ever existed beyond saying "Not my job!" Please join us and add your voice to the resistance. It may in fact be hopeless, but I for one refuse to go quietly into the night! They don't OWE us improvements, but they DO owe us bug fixes! -
Therein lies part of the problem. I've used Amplitube since before it was called Amplitube. It's a great sim, but it is hands down the biggest resource hog of all amp sims, and I've used most.

If there's one thing Ola knows, it's what chugs. If chug is what you're after, then you should certainly try this. Keep in mind though, what made this pedal one of the best selling of all time is not using it like this, it's using it between your guitar and the amp's input. Don't discount that method because some internet wanker said to. Try it, you MIGHT like it! However, this works better with low gain amps than high gain amps. When the pedal came out, that was its purpose, to turn a low gain amp into a high gain amp. I would NOT put it in a Helix FX loop. That's a recipe for ugly noise! But hey, don't just take my word for it - try it, you might like it!

Setup Helix to send the MIDI you'll later require when re-amping in Native. Don't forget to turn ON PC TX and SEND Snapshot MIDI in Globals. Set the Bypass and expression pedals to send MIDI CC and note the CCs you use. Record the processed Helix Output on 1/2 that you're monitoring in real time as you play. Record the DI from Helix on USB7/8. Record the MIDI output from Helix on a third track. In Native, set the FX to the MIDI CC assigned on Helix. In your DAW, point the recorded DI and MIDI tracks at the Native track. Record the Native track with audio from the DI track and FX control from the MIDI track. You may need to make minute timing adjustments in the DAW to compensate for latency. I haven't done this in ages because it's way more hassle than I care to deal with, but it works.

I have a Scarlett 18i20 2nd gen. I use the SPDIF from my Helix. All of the analog inputs are in use for other devices. Early on I did a comparison of the SPDIF and Analog inputs on the Scarlett. Unless your ears are solid gold platinum, there's no audible difference. Nor is there any audible difference between the Helix as AI and the Scarlett over USB (0s and 1s). The only PRACTICAL difference arises when you play through plugins in your DAW (vs direct monitoring your Helix). Then latency arising from additional AD/DA conversions becomes a factor. In that case you want the best, lowest latency interface available, and Helix is far from that. Scarlett is better, but not the best. If latency is the issue, you're better off getting the most powerful computer you can afford than spending on a super low latency interface. Ideally, do both. How much money you got to spend on a 2ms difference so you can play through plugins vs Helix?

Glad that fixed it for you, but MIDI to Native wasn't a problem (for me - PC) in 3.50 and isn't a problem in 3.51. Something strange going on with your Reaper Projects, maybe a MAC thing? Have you tried the Cockos Forum for help with this?

Indeed, and weird can definitely be fun without necessarily going full-on Adrian Belew. Funny you should mention GG. He doesn't use many FX, just flat out plays his a$$ off!

You really don't have a sense of humor. How sad. Thin skinned, too! I said nothing negative about FAS or FAS people. All of that is based on what FAS owners (and former owners) have said in other forums. And what many Helix owners say - WTF is BIAS X and who cares anyway? I LIKE freaky noises. It's one reason I play electric guitar. If I could afford it, I'd have a AFXIII and a GT1000 too! I said nothing negative about you. On the contrary, your lack of humor led YOU to insult ME! Dude, you're taking yourself WAY too seriously! I'm having a bit of a laugh and YOU'VE turned it into a war! RELAX! CRANK IT UP! Grab a big ol' A5 and stick those pickups RIGHT UP AGAINST THE GRILL! Everything's better with MASSIVE FEEDBACK! Trust me on that! ;-) @datacommando- deja vu much?

Always liked Guitar Rig for that purpose. Folks who like that sort of thing buy FAS. And Earthquaker pedals. Roland Guitar Synths. Most people, on either platform, just wanna rock. Maybe get a little ambient/psychedelic once in a while. To spend hours tweaking weird noises might be fun for some, but most of us are never even going to max out the weird noises the Helix IS capable of. Also, very small audience for non-subtle weirdness. More often than not, hard to dance to! With apologies to the OP, I was thinking more in terms of the "deep amp parameters" when I mentioned "subtle". That's what most people mean when they talk about what Helix doesn't have vs FAS. Yawn.

See those ;-) things scrawled across the bottom of my reply? Those are winky faces. How do you live from day to day without a sense of humor? If Helix had the things you're asking for, would they NOT put them in BOLD print in the manual so that EVERYBODY would know that Helix has ALL the features that hardly anybody uses in the FAS devices after they realize that most of them are so subtle as to be a waste of time? Except, of course the members of the "Golden Ears" club, who would have no trouble finding the "Easter Egg". Heck, most people don't use the "Deep" features that Helix DOES have! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

When you download the manual there's an "Easter Egg" on the DL page. Once you've found it you'll be asked for a special code which only you know. You'll then be allowed to DL the REAL manual, with all the top-secret special sauce settings and key combinations needed to get at them. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

What FW are you on? IIRC, this was a known bug on the HX devices, but I thought it was fixed. It seems to be working correctly on my HXS. If you aren't already on v3.50, try updating. If you are, try a factory reset.

In Global Settings>Footswitches If you want to be able to get to Snapshot Mode from Preset or Stomp Mode and see ONLY Preset or Stomp switches in those modes: Set Preset Mode to 8 Presets Set Stomp Mode to 8 Stomps Set Snapshot Mode to either MANUAL (press CANCEL/FS6 to exit) or AUTO (exit on select) Set Up/Down (FS1/7) to whatever your mode of preference From either STOMP or PRESET Mode, enter SNAPSHOT mode by pressing FS1+7 (UP/DOWN) simultaneously. If you HOLD them down it will change the UP/DOWN function, so just press and release to enter SNAPSHOT Mode.
