  1. One thing everyone who wants the global eq in an assignable fx block form isn't thinking about: how would they fit all those knobs within the current hd edit interface without adding another tab, making the knobs really really small, or overhauling the entire UI for hd edit? Thanks pfsmith0 for all your work collecting data.
  2. I use the script phase for some things and I've never really noticed anything being muffled. I have noticed on occasion, and randomly, a sort of digital clipping as it goes through it's sweep. Nothing really dramatic though. Post the patch you're having troubles with.
  3. I took it mean he's using the new bass cabs for 6 or > string guitars for metal. But maybe he's tried them for bass guitars also, along with the new bass amps. Yea, clarification.
  4. Haven't got the model packs yet. How do the new bass amps/cabs compare to the existing ones, for the purposes of bass? Have heard next to nothing about the bass additions, except for the above mention. I guess people don't generally use the pods for bass.
  5. That makes sense. One of the things I remember reading about the eq not working with all outputs (all but L6 link and usb), was because of dsp. So if they converted the existing global eq to a movable fx block, that dsp/output problem suddenly disappears? They'd also have to write the interface for the new eq fx for hd edit. I wouldn't count on it. But adding in the ability to save the 2.62's eq data with each patch by using the existing 'inputs setup' would allow for a 'master patch' eq or a 'global' eq, without changing much of anything for what already exists. It would be nice in either case, but I wouldn't count on it.
  6. I've had this basic idea since the global eq was announced. It's on ideascale if you care to vote for it. It wouldn't even have to be an fx block. More like a fixed eq block. But I wouldn't hold any hope for this being implemented in the current hd lineup. For one thing, it doesn't work with hd edit. For another, it doesn't work with all outputs.
  7. You could toggle between 2 harmonizers with one footswitch and assign two groups of settings for each harmonizer with the exp pedal for a total of 4 different harmonizer settings within one patch.
  8. I like to equate changing tones due to firmware updates to sightings of sasquatch or UFOs. There's always someone out there who insists, but always, always, there is lack of evidence. Or if there is some sort of evidence, it's always ambiguous. If someone can post before and after sound samples, you can increase the sample of pairs of ears at least.
  9. I love the POD HDs too. But since this is my first device that does amp and fx modeling, I don't really have anything else to compare it with. I do suspect that if I were to dump the pod for a boss, digitech, zoom, roland, and even the new amplifire, etc., I would find myself disappointed by the lack of versatility.
  10. I just tried riffstation. Pretty cool program. If you slow things down too much though, it becomes a bit indistinguisable. But if you're into figuring out other people's work, it could be quite handy. For chords and stuff, there's a nice program for android called Chord!. Very hand program while writing music.
  11. Interesting idea. That could become quite confusing though, unless you limit yourself to only 8 patch slots for each "virtual" bank, no more; each of the 8 patches would have to contain the same set of PC messages. So in effect you could create 8 banks of 8 patches in each setlist. And I can imagine it would still be confusing when wanting to switch banks. I can also imagine making each patch contain a different "set" of midi PC messages resulting in a tangled night-terror. But, I'm not sure how this whole thing would work when wanting to change the 'virtual' bank. Obviously you can do that by using the up/down footswitches and then the a,b,c and d switches. But upon changing a patch, the pod sends out an automatic PC change message containing the patch you just selected using a,b,c or d. Does it change patches with your selection first (with the delay) and then send the PC change (with another delay), effectively changing patches twice?
  12. Welcome. Not possible. It's either all effect toggle switches or 4 effect toggle switches with 4 patch change switches. But the pod is flexible enough that switching patches may not even be a necessity, depending your needs.
  13. Tried the patch, and got sound with it. I doubt this has anything to do with it, just an idea, but the patch is really loud with the tube compressor after the amp - its level is at 72%. Some DAWs have an automatic mute when too much signal is encountered. Perhaps there's something in your chain of gear with a similar "feature", not necessarily a DAW.
  14. The quicker you turn the knob the more acceleration it applies to the increasing values.
  15. That sounds good. To my ears, it might be slightly mid heavy and not quite enough highs, or a slight imbalance between highs and mids. But the basic tonal structure sounds good.
  16. The samples in the video have the guitar double tracked and panned either left or right. The sample in the flac file sounds a little heavy on the low end, which also makes the mids sound scooped. It sounds to me like the XXL V-30 cab, which has a lot of low end. I use this cab all the time. But something doesn't sound right to you, so try different combinations of cabs/mics until you find something you like, and then mess around with the amp's tone controls until you like it even more. Now you have a basic framework to build from if you want to add even more, like compressors, distortions, reverbs, delays, EQs, etc. A good guide would be MeAmBobbo's.
  17. Took a listen to the sample. What exactly are you hearing that you think is wrong? There's nothing there that immediately jumps out at me.
  18. In at least my case, I had to switch to a USB 3 port. I was having problems on a USB 2 port. Go figure.
  19. I use closed headphones, sony 7506. The biggest advantage is the sound isolation. I can't stand hearing the unamped strings of the guitar mixed with the amped; it affects too much how I play and affects how I hear the tone from the patch.
  20. That brings back some memories. Especially the cassette tapes, and the immanently falling off rewind and play buttons. Could you imagine going back to that time, constrained with the technology only available then, but retain the knowledge of what you know will come in a couple of decades? How did people survive back then? What did we do, when not playing guitar? I remember getting into a lot of trouble.
  21. Hehe. The more you think about it, flies are really good at multi-tasking. At the same time they sit there and think of ways to annoy you, they annoy you by taunting you. "psst. c'mere, just try it! just try and swat me! you'll fail! whuuuuuooooaaaaaa ha! ha! and when you fail i'll come and suck you're blood and maybe lay a maggot under your skin! heh! 'cause not only am i fly, i'm a goddamn BOT fly!"
  22. The 500x has a screen with better contrast, if that makes a difference. And the power supply for the 500x is quicker to turn on and has a rectangular, more saturated led as opposed to a lime green circle.
  23. But flies can sit in one spot for quite a long time and contemplate about annoying you. Maybe a goldfish, that likely moves around a lot and has about a 1 second memory span.
