The Vetta II 2.5 had that in it. I didn't do enough research to check out and see if it actually worked but since it hasn't been included in anything else, I'm assuming it either didn't work well or at the time, no one cared about it. I think it would be hard to incorporate here since there would be no way to tell how loud whatever you were playing through would be. You would need to know that for this to be effective.

So let's see if I understand what you're looking for. I;m not sure I do. You want Guitar and Vocals to have their own outputs You want one instance of delay and/or reverb that each source (Guitar/Vocals) can use So, regarding the sources with their own outputs, did you want the Guitar with it's own delay and/or reverb on one path (not hearing the delay and/or reverb from the Vocals) and the Vocals with it's own delay and/or reverb on the other path (not hearing the delay and/or reverb from the Guitar) but both using the same instance/block of delay and/or reverb?

I guess I didn't fully read your post. Bottom line is I'm not at home so I can't really try anything. But I hope I gave you some ideas or a path to get you to where you want to go. The manual would be a good place to start for this. https://line6.com/support/manuals/helix Page 20 (Ins & Outs) and page 30 (Sends & Returns). Also check out page 31 (Splits & Merges)

Re a common delay/reverb. Just an idea that I haven't checked out yet but perhaps a creative use of the send/return blocks could get your guitar/vocal inputs going into the same delay/reverb. If you just use a short cable and go directly from the SEND to the RETURN in SEND 1 and/or 2. So, just off the top of my head and only one example, get rid of the delay and reverb on path 1B, have path 1's output go to SEND 1-2. Plug two short cables directly from SEND 1 & 2 to RETURN 1&2. I'm pretty sure you could actually just do it to one of the SEND/RETURNS if you're mono in path 1. Then, put the return on path 2B (1 or 2, where evfer you put the cable), right before the delay and reverb (you'll have to lose a block in that path, perhaps the volume at the beginning). Use the RETURN's mix to adjust the blend of the two signals. I'm pretty sure you could link that to a snapshot or expression pedal if you wanted more control over their blend. Better yet, put the lone bass path on path 1, then put the guitar on path 2A, take the delay and reverb on path 2B and put them on 2A. Then merge the mic path (2B) right before the delay and reverb on path 2A. Don't know if there will be enough DSP to do this all on path 2. There's probably even more ways to do this than these 2. Part of the confusion is that there are so many options and therfore, ways of doing things. Just take your time and you should be good. Good Luck!

This may create some controversy, but that album is full of Tom Scholz Rockman. Clean and distorted. It's a sound that is notoriously difficult to duplicate with modelers. Glen DeLaunne has a Def Leppard patch (It's called Phil Collen) in his Custom Artist Patches Vol II https://www.glenndelaune.com/helix-patches.htm He has a video there that you can listen to him using the patch. 23:07

The Helix control over the tone knob of the JTV Variax is flawed. I have a patch with 3 snapshots that, among other things, control the tone knob. The first two are acoustic where I have lowered the tone knob in each, the third one is an electric with the tone knob up full. When I go from one of the acoustic snapshots to the electric, the tone knob does not go full. It apparently stays in the position the it was in for the acoustics. I can only turn it up using the knob on the JTV. Using HX Edit won't have any effect. I haven't totally played with this yet but so far this is my experience. Anyone else notice this issue?

Eeeeeewwwwwwwwwww! That's kinda creepy. ;)

A man wiser than me once told me, "the older I get, the less ugly women I see". I'm old enough to confirm that is true. The same applies to me and guitars.

It has been said officially that 2019 was going to be a big year for the Helix. I take this to mean we got at least 2 more years. At least. This, however, is also a big, huge, unsubstantiated guess.

I wold suggest the HX Stomp. Same modelling, just less resources. The HD500X (my current backup) is definitely adequate but you will have to completely recreate your patches. There's no way to port them over.

Since you have no effects loop, have you tried using only the preamp of any of the amps?

I think you will need to post an audio clip. Not everyone has a Strymon

This is kind if a stab in the dark but was any phantom power applied? Maybe even accidentally for a moment?

It sounds like you also have your computer connected via USB. Could this be part of the issue?

I personally don't think they look any cheaper than the ones you linked to. Just a different shape. I like the black ones I linked to. They look great and the led ring light shines through it perfectly. Blends better than I think the clear ones would. But to each his own.

Listen for the plink. Search for that term on this forum. Another thing to listen for is the unity of the string volume while using the models. This can be somewhat corrected by the Workbench software but the closer they are initially, the better. A long time ago there was an issue about the neck on the 69 being too narrow so the hi and lo E strings would "fall" off. Watch out for that. It hasn't been an issue for awhile. Also the model knob has to be pushed in to switch from models to magnetic pickups. Often the post the knob was on wan't high enough so it wouldn't engage. It is easily fixed but putting a small something in the hole of the knob so it will push the post down further. That's all I can remember. Anyone else?

You have to put a Volume Pedal in a block then go to the Helix manual, page 42 Controller Assign.

These footswitch toppers are much cheaper ($8.90 for 4). They don't have the screws in them so you can't do the capacitance switching. Because of this I was worried about how long they would last. You just put them on. No set screws. It's been about 3 years with no issues at all. https://www.amazon.com/GETMusic-Plastic-Bumpers-Footswitch-Protector/dp/B075TXX5LQ/ref=sr_1_18?keywords=footswitch+topper&qid=1558438008&s=musical-instruments&sr=1-18

And way back in the day, we listened to cassettes in our car which was acceptable at the time since we couldn't play records in a car. Noisy, compressed and they're making a come back!!! The worst way to listen to music in my opinion. So whatever works for ya.

Oh, I didn't realize it started as joke. Now that I've reread it, I get it. Took too much actual thinking to get it.

Doesn't Garage Band come with Apple operating systems still? I've always heard good things about it. It's supposed to be pretty user/beginner friendly. Perfect for the needs you described.

Wait a minute, are you talking about the HX Stomp? Oooooo, if you were, sorry. I was talking about the full on Helix although the stereo mono rule does still apply. I know little about the Stomp.
