  1. 1. Sometime after the 2.8 update. 2. No one who knows will say anything. That's as good as the info will get until a Line 6 person says something. And they don't talk much about that.
  2. Here's the solution to all your amp modelling issues!!!!
  3. Where did you see them? Were they part of the factory presets? Or did you buy it used so it was an old patch from the previous owner and you updated and lost it?
  4. Here's how this generally goes. About 3 - 6 months after any update there is a "when's the next update" rumble on the forums. It kind of comes and goes like the tide for awhile UNTIL the "I heard there's one coming shortly" rumors. Then comes the what they should and shouldn't include along with the "this is what I heard" and "it should be coming come out......" speculation. That whole noise floor keeps rising and rising along with the "what's taking so long" posts until people start to think they can't take all of this waiting anymore. Now a couple of "I'm a beta tester and we're still testing" posts......... Then the big "an update is coming announcement". Then the "anyone heard anything about when?" and/or "what's taking so long?" posts. THEN!!!!!!..............the update finally comes. At this point the "it's been two hours where's the next update" jokes (often from yours truly) and the "great work Line 6" posts start along with the "this sucks", "why didn't they...", "well you suck if you think this sucks", "well you suck if you don't think this sucks", "are there any new factory patches?" etc. etc. posts. Finally it settles down until about 3-6 months after that. Go back to start. Did I miss anything? As far as Line 6 saying anything officially. There's no pattern really. Maybe a "one is in the pipe" post (that has happened obviously) and a semi official "we're close" post about a week or two before it finally comes out (that has not happened yet). The last official timeline given was sometime in the spring which ends in June. So no one will hear about anything until a Line 6 peep says something. Then we'll all have heard it.
  5. I love these. For a living room they're excellent. You can put them on top of two mic stands if you want to and they do blue tooth. They're about the size of a couple of computer speakers. Check 'em out. They are a bit pricey. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/iLoudMicro--ik-multimedia-iloud-micro-monitors-pair?mrkgcl=28&mrkgadid=3319245782&rkg_id=0&campaigntype=dsa&campaign=aaDSA&adgroup=1233692239%3ADSA - Studio %26 Recording&placement=google&adpos=1t1&creative=331552294983&device=c&matchtype=b&network=g&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgqzCo4ey4QIVQl8NCh1ltAUoEAAYASAAEgI_9_D_BwE
  6. The only thing you can adjust is distance. Most people think they are positioned in the center.
  7. I hope I didn't offend anyone. I was just funnin'. Didn't mean nuthin' by it. I hadn't even read any of the posts. That's just the joke that popped into my head when I saw the heading. There must've been a heated exchange going on before I posted. Do I have to go to the principle's office?
  8. I never said he NEEDED customer service. But if he were to ever contact them with an issue, I am pretty positive he would get great customer service. I have no idea whether he needed to or has ever, for that matter, contacted their customer service.
  9. I'm going to guess that Steve Vai is able to get excellent customer service from Fractal. Joe Blow? Maybe not so much.
  10. The comparision I've heard bandied about that with a Korean JTV you're essentially getting a guitar worth approx. $700 with the rest of the amount going for electronics. Take from that, what thou will.
  11. I would agree with that. One thing I do is have a pad on one path and a "normal" sound on the other, I used to just have the output level controlled by snapshots but if I want to hear the pad trail off after I switch over to the other path, I now have to put a gain block at the beginning of the pad path to essentially do what you described. I don't believe it's in the the list of the next update.
  12. Running a Tube Screamer at a clean setting before the amp is actually a fairly common technique many guitar players use. It's then used to drive the amp harder by adjusting the output. Putting it between the amp and cab is an interesting take on that. I'll have to check it out.
  13. This is true. You have to add it.
  14. The Master Volume knob is setup so that when turned all of the way up, it is unity gain. Ya know, the signal value going in will be the same as going out if there are no other blocks in the path. I set my Helix up so that the Master Volume only controls the 1/4" outputs and has no control over the XLR outputs. You can also do this for the 1/4" outputs. When you do this, the outputs the Master Volume are NOT controlling will act as if the Master Volume is turned up all of the way. i.e. unity gain. Don't forget to make sure the output is setup to the correct output type. In the case of the XLR's it's either Line or Mic. In the case of the 1/4" it's Line or Instrument. Set your patch levels to that and now, no matter where the Master Volume is set at they will always be the same.
  15. The KWB distortion is the kowloon walled bunny pedal which I understand is based on an MXR Distortion +. http://www.benadrian.com/pedals/kwb.html
  16. There are two ways to do what you want to do. This is another way. Plug one instrument into the Guitar In. Plug the other into the Aux In. The Aux In has an input impedance of 10 KOhm. This is for a guitar with active pickups or a bass. What this means to you is a guitar with passive pickups will have a low signal so you will probably have to boost that. But your acoustic may have active electronics and may be OK. Just know if the signal at the Aux In seems low, that's normal and you'll need to add a preamp or something at the beginning of your signal path to boost it. You then select Aux In or Guitar In at the input block.
  17. The predelay in a reverb is essentially just a delay. So you need to somehow put a delay that is delay only, no dry with the feed back setup so that it has only one repeat. But you still need the rest of your signal to bypass that. The only way I see you can do this is to split into two paths. Then, in this order, put a delay and then your loop in this second path. The main settings your delay is going to need are mix at 100% (no dry signal) and the feedback set so that there is only one repeat. I can't think of any other way to do this right now so if you're using a split path in your patch, you're out of luck.
  18. I like it. It does sound cool.
  19. The two most common issues are that pedals with TRS connectors don't work. Needs to be just TR, and the potentiometer needs to be 10Kohm. I can't find what the potentiometer is for the Moog but the pictures I'm finding show a TRS cable, which doesn't work with the Helix. You may need to do some soldering. I saw it has a polarity switch on it. Maybe that'll help with the TRS issue.
  20. Do you mean this kind of stuff? If so, i don't think the Helix has this exact ability. It would be one of the new reverbs. Can't think of a delay that could do this on its own. Maybe a delay with one of the synth effects?
  21. If you've been holding off for a great deal, this would be one of them. Don't know how long it will last https://line6.com/promos/
  22. Check this out https://www.bluecataudio.com/Blog/preview/first-re-guitaring-videos/
  23. As I recall, patches created with older versions have to be "rebuilt". Did your Helix go through a "Rebuilding" process when you updated the firmware with your old patches on the Helix. The rebuild usually takes a minute or two as i recall.
