  1. The converter has an option to change the amps. Did you use it?
  2. The Firehawk and the HD's are two different units for two different purposes. Its sort of like how a car manufacture makes a car and a truck, or even how someone like Jaguar can make a sports car AND a luxury car. Making one doesn't mean that they have given up on the other. But you are correct, technology isn't stagnant, otherwise we would all be driving 1950's station wagons. So, the new HD units will probably have more connectivity options. Just not Firehawkish. I mean, even mixing consoles can be ran remotely with your tablet, so there is no real reason why L6 shouldn't keep up with the technology. In fact -- I WANT to have a portable option for my unit. I hate having to carry around yet another device (a pc) on the off chance that I need to make changes. I bought my Pod so that I could quit carrying tons of stuff. I have a phone with me, it is pretty darn powerful, let me use it.
  3. Yes, if your only reason for dissatisfaction with a product is the fact that you want to buy it cheaper - then you are acting like an heir to the massengill fortune. That is not the type of person that I want to invite to break bread with me. People wonder when corporations became evil, and only think about profits instead of about the people ~~~ but no one asks, when did the people become bigger capitalist swine then the very corporations they speak against. Returning a product simply because you can is not a good enough reason to return it. And certainly, when you return it because you want to buy it again, is justification enough for a company to begin to think more about it's own survival than the people. You're going to buy a product, use the product, and then return the product... and then on the same day that you returned the product, you are going to buy that same product that you just returned, from the same seller that you returned it to, but for a cheaper price. That is an indefensible action.
  4. Oy. I did not know this. I knew Variax was the ideal selection for 'quiet time', but I thought mic reduced noise when compared to same. @OP Sorry dude, I guess I told you wrong. Or does it fall into the category of my last sentence... "depending on your signal chain''.
  5. Having the legal right is not the same as having the moral right. And, even the 'legal' can be a sketchy situation. Have you ever read the terms of service for a purchase? Not just L6, but with any purchase. Sometimes they say you can return an item for any reason, while other times they say things like "if you are dissatisfied" or if the item is defective. Returning something for any reason is one thing. But if they put the satisfaction caveat on there, your only honest response would be "I was satisfied with the product and it's price until I saw it go on sale and realized I could buy it cheaper. So, now I am dissatisfied with the price that I was previously satisfied with. Give me my money back so I can turn around and buy it from you a second time." That makes you sound like a real tool. Big mega-corporations can get away with a "return for any reason" policy. Mom and Pop businesses cannot.
  6. Yes BUT, I use the Vocoder. Which means I have a mic plugged in. I can't have input 2 set to mic and use the Vocoder because input 2 will be read as a mic -- and then my voice will be heard instead of the vocoder effect. And depending on how you designed your patches in the past, there could be some signal chain issues. But, for the most part, setting input 2 to mic will give the same effect as setting it to Variax.
  7. Which is why I used the disclaimer: "depending on what he wants to use it for" I mostly use multiple patches instead of on/off. But I have some patches that give issue, and some patches that have too much going on that need two totally separate creations.
  8. HA I am going to, not only put an end to the question of whether or not I was talking about you, but also make you look like a tool at the same time. Read this post that I made regarding a different member. In other words, I don't know who you are now. I don't know who you were then. You could be one person or a dozen people. I don't know. I don't care. I respond to questions people ask, not to the people asking the question. I haven't even looked at your name to know who I am responding to. Think of it this way: If were in a room with Satan, and you asked him "what's two plus two?" If Satan said "FOUR", is this still the correct answer, or do you discount the response because of the source it came from? So, how does that make you feel. Knowing that you have this inner loathing of me. Yet, I haven't a clue who you are. I haven't even given you the dignity of looking at your name to be able to acknowledge you. Ouch, that's gotta hurt. However, the good part about it is this; In different threads, I have the capabilities of being your friend/ally simply because I don't know who spent the last few weeks slinging insults at me. Can you say the same in return?
  9. Critique #1 Spell his name properly. Critique #2 Which RR sound are you trying to mimic?
  10. Just because you aren't notified of the need for approval in other places, does not mean that it does not exist. They just aren't telling you.
  11. Probably not the best idea depending on what he wants to use it for... If these changes are to take place within a song, there could be some brief sonic issues to contend with. If you're switching patches between songs, then absolutely, using separate patches is king.
  12. What he said. But, as a point of reference: F1~4 (and F1~8) are capable of running at the same time. It's not like turning one on and the other disengages. So set up your distortion to run, and then you can use 1 for reverb and 2 for delay. Use 1+2 for both. If you were to set a distortion on each pedal with different fx attached to each one, you could have up to 8 distortions running at the same time. And that may not lead to a desirable sound.
  13. 20 seems to be the min
  14. They didn't pre-announce this one. It just appeared. Buy now, at the regular price. Start enjoying your new purchase today. Or check the website every day in hopes that they run another sale some day. All while NOT enjoying your new purchase.
  15. I had videos on MTV (which shows you how old I am, lol) before I graduated high school. So, to have a degree in music to prove that I know how to play seems a little silly. But, for the record, I did further my education, both music and other.
  16. If you are going to use it on your machine to filter your own personal hiss, that's fine. But my hiss is different than your hiss, so there is no 'set it like this' that works for both of us. Plus my hiss is different from itself depending on the environment and other gear used. GEQ, instead of being used to make 'a guitar sound like a guitar', can be used to accommodate the changes. Kind of like, leveling the playing field. Making sure that, no matter what changes you make outside of the Pod, everything starts at the same baseline. Too much bass in this room, GEQ can remove the bass. There is less treble with this amp than my amp at home, GEQ can add treble. But it's your machine, do whatever you'd like.
  17. Never bought a used car individual to individual in PA. But then, if it is based on a 'bluebook value' instead of the actual sales price, it isn't a sales tax in the common sense. Which is what I said in the post Rocco quoted. My stores are in multiple states. In one state, delivery is a taxable service, in another it is not. In one state sales tax is figured before the trade, and in another it is after the trade. So, if you buy a $10,000 piece but have a $9,000 trade, in one state you are paying based on $1,000 and another $10,000.
  18. Of course, its music, so there are no rules. And, since it is your machine, you make your rules. BUT Its a no brainer --- if you design a patch and then change the GEQ, it will sound different. So then, when you design a new patch with the new GEQ setting, again, when you change to another GEQ setting, now neither patch will sound as planned. It would be like adjusting the Master Volume to accommodate for the differences in patch volumes. That isn't how you use a Master Volume, nor is it how you use a Master Equalizer.
  19. And he should tell you the same thing. Keep it flat until you need to room shape. Each room is different, there is no one miracle setting for every room.
  20. After the update, did you remember to go and reset your studio/combo/stack setting? ***** and for future reference.: no one is named Gear Hear. Names are in the blue line above that.
  21. That question implies that you are misusing the GEQ. Global eq should be 'flat', or even off. Until you need to change the overall tone of the entire unit, such as what you may find when you change rooms or amps/monitors. After the update, did you remember to go back and set your studio/combo/stack settings?
  22. The truth is... There really is no right answer for how to monitor when tweaking. For example: I had downloaded a 'clean' patch while looking for a particular tone. I thought that the clean was great even though it wasn't what I was looking for, but there was too much echo going on. Obviously, I can take the echo out. However, when playing with a band, that echo that I hated, had turned out to be perfect. So, had I tweaked when it was just me, the echo would be gone. And then it wouldn't sound good in the live setting.
  23. Which is odd that you say that. I pay very little attention to who is saying what. I read a post and comment on it based on its content - not because of who is saying it. But I recognize your name. I may get you and the other guy (who I recognize by icon) confused from time to time, but for me to even recognize your name is a rarity.
  24. Which is something I said around page 3 (when certain people began the name calling) --- Too many people are takers and not providers. Then they criticize the very people that do provide.
  25. This post was started 2, maybe 3 firmwares ago. There was no GEQ in that firmware,
