*Which is yet another reason why I think a portable option for EDIT needs considered* If you don't feel comfortable with working on the machine itself, and you just want to make minor changes... Pen and Paper. Write down 'add footswitch control to patch 15b', so that when you get home you can do it on the pc. To me, if your rehearsal is about learning music, you should make those changes at home. But if your rehearsal is about tweaking the show, then you should consider taking EDIT with you so that it is available on the spot.

But telling someone that they need to practice for 15 years is more realistic than telling them that they will be a appearing at the iHeart Festival next year. And yes, people have that delusion in their head. I've had people recording their lessons so that they can have clips to add to their youtube, and to have clips for when they get famous and they show the 'growing up montage'.

As to 'ranking'... It would be fairly silly to have a ranking system since many people will upload a file they just downloaded --- and not give credit to the OP.

HEHE, ugrade sickness. I had My Pod for almost a year before I found out that the vocoder was an 'actual' vocoder and not just an auto-wah/envelope filter type sound. I felt like I got a new toy, simply by opening a forum topic! You should download the patch RoR Babymetal. I have no use for it, but I want to find a reason to use it. THAT is the kind of stuff that can cure upgrade sickness. Discovering that the Pod can make random/useless stuff like that, it is like buying a new toy every time you twist a knob. My fear with the Pod is not that I am going to want something new, but rather... Since it is so computer dependent, that I am going to run into a situation where a perfectly working unit is almost no good because pc tech has moved beyond the point of even supporting it. I hope that the drivers are updated until the day I die --- and then 30 years after that.

But sports has a 'hierarchy' in place. You don't play with the teens when you are 8. You don't play with high school kids while you are a teen. Then you play college. Then you go pro. Music, on the other hand...

He's 21. That means that I used my ART SGE Mach II (which was part of the rig my Pod replaced last year) longer than he was alive. Do you think these kids will ever be able to say they used a piece of digital equipment that long? I mean, how many of them are already talking about buying the next L6 unit when it comes out -- even though it hasn't even been announced yet.

Growing up, I may have liked different types of music but I really only played on kind. Or, maybe it was because I was only hired to do one type --- its a chicken/egg situation. Today, I will play whatever. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I learned to never turn down a gig because its always money and exposure for the next gig, and the fact that you never know when your last gig may have been your last gig so take it when you can get it. But, EDM can be fun to play. Glow sticks. Blacklights. I have a couple guitars with UV graphics. A couple glowing skeleton costumes. Most of the music is pre-recorded, I am mostly there for the 'show' aspect of it and a couple live parts. *if I had an interest in being an EDM artist, my Pod makes all kinds of beeps, bings, and gnarly animal growls. Rap too. I started doing 'special guest' stuff for some live rap shows in the 90's. And I have since been doing studio work with them at least ten years. For me, I am not a 'member' of any band and not getting personally involved with their careers. I am just a guitar player that plays the guitar parts someone needs. But parents aren't any better. They come in thinking that $100 a month is too much. PLUS they expect that their child will be done with lessons by the end of the month, and famous by the end of the year.

But I wouldn't go buy them again right away. I would wait at least a few hours in case there are server issues that caused it not to show. Calling your CC company after a few hours is a good idea too.

Show me the law that says you have to use their file as they wrote it. Tweak dem sumbichiz. I edit every file I use (Including my own). Sometimes it is just volume matching. But other times I am adding or removing (usually removing) blocks. That's why my pc has so many folders of the same patches. I keep the original unedited download as a reference. And (if needed) a folder of the original file after I convert the format. Then I have my initial edits. Then I have file I use. And, if after using it awhile, I need to tweak something, I keep that file so I can compare the two at a later date.

I like to plug something into the mp3 jack. The mp3 jack is not affected by any of the controls, including master volume. I use that signal as my baseline. Master volume at 10 doesn't apply to me. I match the master volume to the mp3 volume. If your mp3 volume is low, you either have a faulty total output, or you have unrealistic expectations of volume --- and I don't think any of us will know the difference online. Someone needs to see it in person. If your mp3 volume is fine, then your patch design needs changed.

It acts differently when you have EDIT running. I don't know what happens when you simply have a pc connected because I don't connect a pc unless I plan on using EDIT. But if you are live, it should not be running EDIT, which means just do what the others have said -- call up a patch.

Computers are different. That is a 'new' device. Even at work, if you had established yourself as something, you may not have a need to use a pc for it. Where as music, we've twisted knobs before there were knobs. We invented things to twist trying to make changes. Using an amp model on a 500 isn't too different than using the actual amp. Twist knobs. Volume, tone, drive. We've done that. But ask some of the 60 year olds if they use gates to chop the sound into a chugga chugga type effect, that's a different story.

What some of you are talking about is actually theft. Do yo realize this? Sure, it is mostly legal (laws across the globe vary, and I don't claim to know them all), but that is simply disgusting. You bought something. You knew what the price was. You still bought it. And now, because they are having a 3 day sale, you think you have the right to abuse a return policy by returning it and buying it again at a cheaper price... Makes me sick.

OR It is simply a Memorial Day Sale. Businesses do that sort of thing from time to time.

I'm not that old. But my father was sort of there. He was driving through. But because of the long lines of traffic, and gas stations that were out of fuel... he couldn't go anywhere and decided to hang out. Either that, or he used it as an excuse to stay at his mistress's house for a few days.

Fake Epiphone? There's no money in faking Epiphone. Putting a Slash truss rod cover on an actual Epiphone and calling it a Slash model, maybe.

While I believe that we did land on the moon (and were greeted by aliens), there is enough evidence to support those who believe that we didn't land at all. Sure, the non-believers are wrong. But they have valid reasons for thinking how they do. So, it wasn't a joke. As much as it was --- just laying out the option for the others.

It's hard to gather around the tv and watch 'an event' when they have spent so much time telling us what is going to happen in advance. Complete with computer simulations. Of course, this assumes that it was real and not the invention of a Hollywood movie studio.

have you tried running it in compatibility mode?

The following may not apply when doing studio work, because in the studio we tweak every setting possible to get 'just the right tone', but then never use that same tone again, so replicating it doesn't matter... Remember, whatever setting you make your sounds on, that is what you need to play them back with. A patch made with Guitar/Same will not sound the same if played back Guitar/Variax. Same with the GEQ. Tweaking the tone of one patch with GEQ, will make all other patches sound off. In the studio, I will do whatever sounds best for who I am working for at the time (which sometimes means using their gear and not mine). But in all other situations, I stick with Guitar/Same/Auto/Global/Studio

1. I don't know if you read the original post. It has been edited since it was written. In fact, he edited it when he came back and apologized for coming across like a lollipop. 2. He has a something like ten posts in ten years. Using your job analogy, he wouldn't get a retirement party. Co-workers would say "who?"

Or are you talking about this... Dual Tones.zip

There is nothing wrong with not understanding tech jargon. There is nothing wrong with plugging in and twisting knobs until you find what you like. But there is no 'one single configuration' of global settings that will work for everything.

Forum users vs pod users And when you consider how old rock and roll is, you can no longer associate it with teen angst. Think about it --- Woodstsock. The dope smoking, acid dropping, promiscuous sex having hippies --- THEY ARE ON SOCIAL SECURITY KISS Alive! was 40 years ago. MTV is in it's 30's.

Before I installed the latest updates, I did a total removal of L6. It was a pain. But, for me, it was more about how Microsoft treats search items then it was an L6 issue.
