  1. Hold the 'A' (Clean) button in when turning on the amp to do a factory reset.
  2. You should be able to reduce the 'gain' on the Spider with your settings, but this may also lower your overall volumes. Its a matter of adjusting the tones and settings on the HD500 according to what the amp does to the overall sound.
  3. You need to save the volume/settings after adjusting them. The reason you are seeing a big change when you barely touch any knob is that touching the knob 'activates' it, changing the parameter to where the knob is currently pointing (from whatever the preset parameter is).
  4. Everyone likes different sounds. Best thing anyone can tell you is to try the amps out with your guitars (and pedals if you have any).
  5. It's too bad that you waited all this time to explore options. If you had contacted Line 6 technical people, by starting a repair ticket, they would have advised to ship it to a repair center. The closest one to you is in Columbia: La Colonial Carrera 7 No 57-43 Bogota Cundiamarca 0057-254-5561 colonial57@hotmail.com
  6. Did you check the socket pins for the cable (amp and pedal)? Sometimes these get bent.
  7. HI Cdosier90 - this is a problem many people encounter when they purchase a Spider amp because they do not yet understand the 'preset' features. On some of the factory patches included the channel volume (which is part of the preset parameters) is turned very high. You should be adjusting these to the level you want, then saving the new settings back to the User Patch location. If this happens with one of the artist/song patches, and you want to keep the patch (after making the volume adjustment), save it to one of the user locations.
  8. Wow, great find! Are you using one of these now? Always thought the cheap CAT5 cable was the weakest part of the Spider amp/FBV system. I'm not gigging with this amp any longer, but if I was, this would be a must-have.
  9. Is the amp still under warranty? If so, I'd get it replaced (the amp is not field serviceable).
  10. Yes, the FBV is just a controller - the WAH settings are in the amp you use.
  11. Have you tried a factory reset? Hold down the 'A' button while turning the amp on, and the 4 presets should revert to original settings.
  12. The only way I have heard is to use the FBV Control software.
  13. I heard of this happening with some other people when they did a firmware update, seems like the update didn't complete, leaving the FBV non-working. Suggest you return it to the store if its within the store's return policy, and if note, create a Line 6 Support Ticket.
  14. Kkelly9 illustrates what I was saying - as you overall volume changes, so does the sound. For sure a 75 can get real loud in your practice space at home! I used mine to practice with a 6 piece band including a loud drummer, and it had the volume to do that easily. At home, I try to keep the master volume under 4-5, but I still get complaints from my wife and our cats!
  15. Yes, but you would want to make sure your amp settings are without any fuzz/distortion on them as distortion X distortion seldom sounds good.
  16. You're only getting half the signal the way you are doing it. I don't know if the 15 has any stereo FX (the higher Spider models do). Here's the adapter you want to use, to plug into the stereo output jack, then use a standard 1/4"-1/4" guitar cable to your interface: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/408123-REG/Hosa_Technology_GPP_419_Audio_Cable_1_4_TS.html or https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-GPP-419-Female-4-Inch-Adapter/dp/B001JYSMV0
  17. No, the input on the Spider amps is mono only.
  18. I don't think it makes a difference. When you plug into the external jacks, the internal wire connections are disabled.
  19. Smaller speakers can't deliver as much bass due to their size. Not sure there is any published information about the actual specs on the Line 6 potentiometers and other components, and I doubt they would supply it to anyone but an authorized repair center. Have you thought about using the headphone/DI output of the Spider IV 75, and running that to another amp or powered speaker?
  20. What you have to remember with a guitar amp is that the sound you hear is based on the volume. You can tell this by using the master volume control after setting the tone you like with the other controls. When you turn the master volume down, the overall sound will change - its a matter of the speaker not moving as much, not pushing as much air. Adding a power resistor or changing the speaker will really not help.
  21. Why would you want to? I'm pretty sure the only firmware offered at line6.com is the current version.
  22. Sorry, I don't know the song, but for anyone to help you, they'd need to know which Spider amp you have. What guitar you are using can have a major impact to the sound, as well.
  23. Do you have speakers or headphones plugged into the UX2?
  24. To use the FBV with any software, you need to download and install the Line 6 software 'FBV Control' - have you done that?
