Pedals not working with Spider III ?
fflbrgst replied to DanVoss911's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
Sorry, trying to help, and you didn't give ANY info in your original post. When you say 'pedals don't work with the amp', then the first conclusion would be there is something wrong with the hookups. If, on the other hand, you meant that 'the effects don't sound like they should' that's a whole different thing. Hope you have it all sorted out now. -
Pedals not working with Spider III ?
fflbrgst replied to DanVoss911's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
How are you hooking them up, what are they? Should be guitar > pedals > amp. Note that some tones already have selective EQ on them (distortion patches, for example), so you may find that a Wah pedal does little to change the tone when the distortion is on. -
No, the only way to update firmware on the Jam is via the SD card.

Spider IV 120 Presets and Customs not producing distortion?
fflbrgst replied to JWood88's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
Sounds like you may have a processor problem if nothing comes back after a system reset. Next thing would be to bring it to an authorized service center for evalutation. -
A 'stereo' acoustic jack is unusual - you must have a dual-source pickup/mic system? These typically require a preamp that can control the 'blend' of the 2 sources, then put out a mono output to go to the amp. Dtar Solstice is an example of one preamp.

In your post, you may have moixed up some words, so it's unclear what you mean. You found you CAN listen to the PodFarm output on your mixer by using the CRTL RM buttom - this basically lets you monitor the signal coming back (via USB) to your mixer form the computer. When you attempt to record, are you selecting the Pod Farm output as your input device in your DAW? SInce you do not have th efull version, you cannot use PodFarm as a plug-in (preferred method).

No Led Lights On Fbv Express: I Can't Tune
fflbrgst replied to ncbaker727's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
Glad you found an easy solution. I find hta thte factory-supplied CAT5 cable is very fragile - stiff in composition, meaning its easy to damage a conductor inside. -
"INSANE" Amp Model on Sp IV 150 and on IV 15
fflbrgst replied to zarathustra10's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
Are you trying to do it at the same volume as the 15? That would be very low volume on the 150, obviously, which could be part of the problem. You are possibly also used to the sound of the small speaker on the 15, rather than the larger, more-powerful speakers of the 150.- 1 reply

The settings for each channel include the FX. Change the FX how you want them and then save them.

Spider IV 120 Presets and Customs not producing distortion?
fflbrgst replied to JWood88's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
Have you manually tried adjusting the fuzz boxes? I assume that is how you are getting distortion. You mentione youhave to turn up the gain - do the settings look correct in your presets, or is hte gain truned down in them? Gain or fuzzbox would be the two methods of getting distortion. -

Have you backed up your preset patches using Spider Edit? If not, do so, then do a Factory Reset and see if this fixes the problem. Then you'll need to move all your presets back into their locaitons with Spider Edit. -
Typiclaly, I rely on the default settings for effects. Experiment to find out the differences in sound when you switch between the various models and pre/post. What one person likes for sound can vary too much for what someone else likes.

I've always put the compressor post, after all other effects.

USB Devices Disabled
fflbrgst replied to rumutgur's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Unfortunately, it sounds like the USB port on your Macbook does not have enough power to power up the UX2. You could try a powered USB hub.- 1 reply

A lot DOES depend on the type of music you are playing. For Metal, people tend to stay away form Spider models, in general. There is no quesiton that the Spider IV amp modeling is a considerable improvement from earlier series. Only you can judge what works best for you.
-
Most people probalby don't have a II to compare to - those are pretty old models! Tone, too, is very subjective - what one person likes may not appeal to someone else.
-
"Pre" means it is in the signal chain prior to the preamp, "Post", means it is in the chain after the preamp. Compression takes a lower volume signal and boosts it, or takes a higher volume signal and reduces it in volume so the overall volume is more even. If you have compression on (and turned way up) and are not playing, you will most likely notice a hissing/noise sound building up in volume as the compression tries to bring up the volume (when there is no signal), so its boosting the background noise. As soon as you strike a note on your guitar, you will hear the hissing stop.

That is the file format for a Spider IV patch. You would use Spider Edit software to eidt it or to insert it into the User Patch locaitons in your Spider IV amp.

Where Did All The Amps Go
fflbrgst replied to kstandish12's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
You have the free version of PF 2.5, to get more amps and FX, you will need to upgrade to the full version. -
No, it is an unbalanced output, 2 RCA jacks (left and right) or stereo headphone jack..

Adding wheels to Line 6 spider 4

Yes, but depending on what amp you have, make sure you don't puncture any internal components when screwing the casters in. -
Spider IV 75w Tone Change on its own

Could it be that loose knobs are turning from vibration? I have read that some people add a small oring under the knob which gives some resistance to turning them. -
Could it be that loose knobs are turning from vibration? I have read that some people add a small oring under the knob which gives some resistance to turning them. But I have also heard at least one time of someone having a simialr issue, which because ti was happening after some time of the amp being on, indicated overheating of a component (or possibly abad solder point).

programming midi notes with the FBV Control

I don't believe you can send note values via FBV Control, only control signals. -
The Infusion update includes more FX and more preset sounds, not sure if there are other firmware changes associated with the update.
