  1. I'm not sure what you really mean. Generally, you do not want to combine an external distortion pedal with an internal-to-amp distortion because distortion X distortion sounds bad. All Line 6 amps can be adjusted for minimal 'drive' and any FX distortion can be turned off.
  2. Line 6 has to pay to use certain artist's names or song titles. Some may not allow this due to contractual obligations with other equipment manufacturers, or may simply want too much money.
  3. Any specific questions? The presets list is accurate - these are the artist-preset or osng preset names that appear on the LCD on the amp.
  4. SOunds like you may need to bring it to an authorized service center for evaluation.
  5. Does it happen at all volume levels, or only at high volume? It could be a component going bad or a speaker problem.
  6. All USB interfaces (not just Line 6) are 'sound cards' and designed to replace the internal OEM soundcards in your computer.
  7. You mau prefer the Lynx interface's A/D converison, but you do realize that you are actually using the UX2 to to both A-D and D-A conversion first? So in fact, you're running your signal thorugh 3 conversions when recording, not just one.
  8. it's "allowed" but I'm not sure anyone could recommend a good "microspeaker" - basically the smaller the transducer, the more-limited the sound. If you are looking for something 'portable' there is little choice, but if you can spend $100 and have 110v power available, you can get a small set of 'monitors (M Audio, Samson) that are low power but will sound miles better than any speakers built into a laptop.
  9. I don't believe that's the case - only the purchase and registration of the Spider IV is needed, as some people have been able to update their amps by bringing them to the store where they purchased and using the store's FBV and online connectivity to update their amps.
  10. +1 to Zap and Tri - I've never heard any laptop built-in speakers that sound any good for music!
  11. The link is for a 30 cable, that would be about right for typical stage set up. Let us know how your jack replacement project goes!
  12. No, you cannot use the FBV MkII to control the UX2, however, you can use the FBV MkII to control PodFarm. The UX2 has 2 footswitch inputs only, does not have CAT 5 or USB connection for the FBV MkII. Not sure if PodFarm has a metronome function, when I want one I use Reaper.
  13. What Triryche is quesitoning is whehter you have any recording software running, or if you are just using the stand-alone Podfarm.
  14. I'm guessing the echo and delay are from latency (processing time of your computer) and that the delayed signal is getting sent back into PodFarm by your settings. Hopefully someone more familiar with the UX2 can advise on what settings you need to change.
  15. You should be able to adjust the master volume for lower overall volume, however the speaker cabinet itself is the culprit in this case - without the volume, the speakers do not sound the same. I'm afraid that in an apartment situation, the 75 watt will be too loud as well - they get loud but are more controllable as the speaker is a flat-response type. You could buy a 'power soak' unit that reduces the output voltage/volume but these ar emade for use with tube amps that need to be driven at full volume for best sound - your Marshall cabinet will not sound the same at low volumes we already know that. The 150hd sells for $400 new, typical used price would be around $250, so GC is not giving you much of a trade-in deal at all. You could try selling it though your local craigslist or ebay. Or just keep it for use when gigging.
  16. If you can, record both a dry signal on one track and your PodFarmed signal on a second track, this gives you the best of both worlds as you can monitor the sound you want as you record, but also go back and redo it on the dry trakc if you decide to. Many people end up with a bad recorded osund due to the nature of the DAW softare - they may be recording the Podfarm sound, then running it through PodFarm again (as a plugin on the track) without realizing it. Also: when recording distorted/high-gain guitar, usually "less is more" - turn down the distortion/gain when recording and it sounds better on playback.
  17. Check the jack pins on both the FBV and amp (and cable ends) - its very easy for one of the pins to get bent out of shape and not make full contact.
  18. Sounds like there may be a component or solder joint that is going/gone. No easy way to pinpoint it unless you are very familiar with electronics and have an amp schematic you can use to troubleshoot. Bringing it to an auathorized service center is your best option.
  19. Sounds like a likely solution - bad USB cable, or bad USB port (and one cable connector makes better connection than other).
  20. Yes, remember that the analog-to-digital computer in your OEM soundcard is made with about $0.69 worth of components, so the UX1 will give you better conversion of your osund into digital.
  21. Please note that the Line 6 techs do not look through this forum any longer. If you want a definitive answer from them you will need to either call them or start a repair ticket.
  22. Unfortunately, it sounds like your pedal may need repair/replacement.
