  1. Try uninstalling all your Line software - and after doing this go into the folder in the Program files named 'Line 6' and delete all the files in it. Then try re-downloading and installing Monkey.
  2. This is the first thing I have read about this problem. Which FX are you talking about - all of them (there are 3 sets)?
  3. I have heard of this, and there does not seem to be any way to calibrate the onboard tuner. You could try a factory reset, but note that you will lose any custom patches you have set up in the amp (save them onto a computer using Spider Edit).
  4. Not sure what you mean by 'no echo' - have you dialed out reverb and delay settings on the amp?
  5. First uninstall Monkey on your computer. This includes deleting all files in the 'Line 6' folder. Then download and reinstall Monkey. Connect your Shortboard only (do not connect the amp to it) and use Monkey to update it. Then connect the amp to the Shortboard and see if you can get Monkey to install updates. If not, you can start a repair ticket on this site, but your best bet will be to call the Line 6 support line.
  6. I used a Fender CD140sce and an old Epiphone with a Markley soundhole pickup with my Spider IV 75. (Also used the amp for keyboards.) For aocustic, I used a Clean Green setting with just a touch of gain for some volume. Although the sound might not be as 'airy' as with a acoustic amp, it still was an acoustic sound, not a strangled/washy electric sound.
  7. Arachnobia has that setting - the pedal is for pitch glide. You need to go into the patch settings, turn off pitchglide, turn on a wah style, and save this patch.
  8. Maybe it's your guitar? What guitar are you using, what pickups are on it? How's it sound when plugged into an amp?
  9. Problem is you can't connect to Line6.com? Do you have Monkey installed? Is it the current version?
  10. Not familiar with Ableton, but with most DAWs, you insert Podfarm as a VST into the FX loop, then enable it. You would not be able to hear it unless you selected track monitoring.
  11. Yes, assuming you are using it with a Spider IV amp, you can set it when you edit settings (and save them to a user patch location). See page 3.3 of the amp user manual (get it here, http://line6.com/support/manuals/ )
  12. Was there an original question they asked you on the support ticket that you didn't answer? If that happens, they will assume you got things worked out yourself. They don't read these forums, so your best is to call them.
  13. I like Line 6's modeling much better than the Fender Mustang's. And I've been a Fender guy for 40+ years! Buy one this weekend at Guitar Center and you can get a 15% discount on it.
  14. You should start a support ticket on this. There hasn't been a firmware update for a long time.
  15. What type of sounds are you looking for? If you're looking for true tube distortion/gain, then you'll have a tough time getting it from any software modeling program. Big Chas's advice above is good.
  16. You can't do it with MIDI. Try different USB ports and cables. Make sure you have all Firewalls (note there is a Windows firwall, not just one with your anti-virus software) and anti-virus software disabled. Unfortunately, this is not an unusual problem. I had to use an older laptop running XP.
  17. It's on the back of the amp. It can't be filled in automatically, you need to type in the correct number.
  18. What OS are you using? Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon problem. I had to borrow an older laptop running XP to do the FBV update. You should still be able to update the amp, even if you can't update the FBV, though. Try different USB ports and cables, too. The FBV is not a MIDI device, although it can be used to control MIDI using Spider Control software.
  19. Use the Search box feature at the top of most of these pages, and you'll find the following link: http://line6.com/spideriv/sounds75.html
  20. Yes, you will want to update your firmware for both the FBV and the amp. Suggest you start by reading the manuals. http://line6.com/support/manuals/spideriv75 You'll ned to install Line 6 Monkey first, that's thier software updater/installer, then update the FBV, then the amp. You can go into edit mode from the amp, then use the FX1 section to find the 'pitch glide' and turn it off, then re-save the patch to the same location. It takes some time to learn how to do everythign on the amp, but once you larn the ins and outs it is pretty simple.
  21. I don't think the sound is that different when using the line out/headphone compared to the built-in speaker - but of course it does depend on what you hook up to it. I regularly record this way because I can't use full volume for recording in my house. When you plug into this jack, it cuts off the osund to the speaker, then you could a line to a power amp, then to another speaker cabinet.
  22. You must have the pitchshifter saved in that patch, you need to remove it, add the wah model you want and re-save it.
  23. The Tascam US1800 is a great interface (note you can sometimes get it on sale for $249 or even lower). I've got a US800, but I don't need more than the 6 inputs as I don't record drums (even if I did I'd use the Glyn Johns + method: snare, kick, 2 overheards + room).
  24. All I can say is that my Spider IV 75 does not behave that way...
  25. You'll do better starting your own thread than posting in an unrelated thread. I 2 ways to use the Pod with the Spider: 1) Guitar > Pod line out > Spider guitar input. Keep the Spider on Clean setting 2) Guitar > Pod line out > Spider CD/MP3 input. This bypasses the Spider preamp/FX section
