  1. These help forums don't have a section for the MK49, you posted in the section for the FBV controllers for amps.
  2. Sounds like the pot (potentiometer) that is controlled by the pedal has either become disconnected or broken.
  3. The FBV Express MkII or FBV Shortboard MkII (don't get the MkI controllers used!) They connect to the amp via a CAT5 cable, and to your ocmputer via USB.
  4. When recording guitars with distortion - use less distortion! I don't know why that is, but what sounds good to your ears when playing does not sound good once recorded.
  5. Studio monitors will give you fairly flat response, but most of them with less than an 8" woofer will be lacking in the bass response. One exception to that is the JBL LSR305 5" monitors - these sell for $150 each, but recently have been on sale for $120 each. A 2.1 system is probably NOT what you want for decent stereo guitar sound, as anything the crossover sends to the sub is not going to be stereo and the usual satellite left and right speakers are not very good.
  6. Don't think you need to do much to get that sound with a Strat! Just a clean amp sound, adjust EQ to suit.
  7. Any authorized service center should be able to order you one. You can try calling Line 6 tech Support: The US support team can be reached at 818-575-3600 (option 2), Mon-Fri 8am - 5 pm PST
  8. No, you want to use an amp that has a clean sound. the Treadplate amp is anything but clean!
  9. Sounds like you first need to understand how to change settings and save them to user preset patch locations - that's all in the manual. Once you learn that, like jak explains above, you need to organize the patches how you would use them live.
  10. Not sure they have drivers for Linux. I suggest you call Line 6 tech Support: The US support team can be reached at 818-575-3600 (option 2), Mon-Fri 8am - 5 pm PST
  11. Only from audio out of the POD to the input on the Spider. The Pod and Spider do not 'talk' to each other. The POD has L6 link capability to communicate with the Stagesource speakers.
  12. "Floor things" - I assume you mean foot pedals/controllers. If you don't have an FBV MkII controller, that means you cannot update the firmware in the amp (the Infusion update of several years ago has to be downloaded and installed in the amp). These controllers also give you access to Spider Edit - being able to edit your sounds on the computer, and save them to your amp, and to download preset patches from other users. A controller like the Express or Shortboard also gives you some other options - changing presets on the fly, and wah/volume pedal (and more with the shortboard - being able to turn on/off certain parameters).
  13. Contact the European Support team on +44(0)1788566555, I did find the following: Gear 4 Music Servicing: Pro Audio,Guitars,Electronics Red Submarine Ltd. 14. homerecording.com forums have a 'Mix This' section where people post their tracks for others to try mixing, you could try there.
  15. Not every Spider amp has hte knob problem, mine doesn't. Not sure if new amps come with the Infusion update already installed, you'd have to ask someone who just got one, or ask the factory. It's fairly easy to install the firmware update, but you obviously need an FBV MkII pedal to do so.
  16. Not sure about the error code, but updating the firmware can lead to issues, that's for sure. First youneed to me sure you have the current verison of Monkey. Then update your FBV firmware (do not connect the amp to the FBV when doing this. Then update the Spider firmware.
  17. What do you mean 'configure'? Line 6 Monkey will install any firmware updates, but for the FBV by itself, tha tonly really deals with the communciation form the FBV to your computer. What device are you trying to control with the FBV?
  18. The only specific problems I am aware of with the Spider IV (and all of these only rarely occur except for the firmware updating). 1) Some active pickups overdrive the input circuit, buffering thorugh any kind of stompbox (with no true bypass) seems to solve it. 2) Firmware updating is sometimes tricky, getting Line 6 Monkey to identify your FB Mk2 pedal and amp. 3) Loose control knobs that can result in sound changes when playing loudly due to 'waking' of that control.
  19. What type of music do you play, what guitar(s) do you have? How comfortable are you learning to program the user preset locaitons and learning how the amp works?
  20. Does the hum/buzz increase in volume when you turn up the amp volume? If so, the noise could be ocming from the input source (guitar, cable) or the input section of the amp.
  21. After the volume fades, can you get it back - if so, how? A Spider 3 is fairly old, you may have components that are failing, only an authorized service center could diagnose for you.
  22. Hello Erick. Your problem is different than what the original poster was talking about. What you may have is a moving control from vibration of the amp - when you hear the volume change, check the master volume (and channel volume) controls - have they moved from what they were set at? The channel volume control will not necessarily show what the preset is set at, this is a 'saved' level, but the master volume is not saved.
  23. Sounds like you waited too long to replace whatever was going bad. The service center will give you a repair estimate, make your call on repeair/replace after that.
  24. It's done all the time! Only you can judge if the sound is what you want.
