  1. the "wah" comes from moving the pedal from bass to treble - that's all a wah basically is, a tone control.
  2. The headphone output is stereo! Some effects in the amp are stereo. If you use a guitar cable, you will notice the volume is quite low. (I've tried it!)
  3. It's a liability thing. If you (or someone) gets hurt, or you wreck your amps, who's going to get blamed. Lawyers are taking over the world.
  4. Just don't hit two buttons at one time! As far as I'm aware there is no way to disable the looper.
  5. Most 'decent' wireless systems sell starting for about $300 per set Then add the cost of conversion of the MIDI to network protocol (and back), you're probably looking at a $500 (retail) solution. As I've said before, I've never seen a pro guitarist use a wireless system from guitar to pedalboard, nor from pedalboard to amp/PA - the pedalboard is always hard-wired because batteries wear out and fail at the most-inconvenient time. I'm sure Line 6 has looked at this but decided that the number of sales would not justify the cost to develop and manufacture the system.
  6. Haha, I did that at practice one night - embarassing! You stepped on either the A + B or C + D switches at the same time. To exit the looper, press the same two switches again.
  7. I think CaliHalo is correct - other than calibrating the pedal itself, there is no way to adjust the amount of wah change when stepping on the pedal itself. Does this happen will all the various Wah options?
  8. Could be the preamp itself (or components in it, of course), as the MP3 input bypasses the preamp.
  9. The software to use is SpiderEdit, and you will need a Spider IV 75, 120 or 150 model in order to access the tones.
  10. Generally, you want to set the Channel Volume in any patch so that when you change from one patch to the next the overall volume doesn't change. You use the Master Volume on the amp to set the overall volume you need for wherever you are playing. Of course it is hard to judge the volume until you plug in your guitar and try it, at which point you need to adjust the Channel VOlume again and resave it.
  11. Yep! Hooking the FBV Express MkII to the PC by USB cable is used for updating the firmware (of both the FBV and the amp) and for accessing Spider Edit, which allows you to adjust patches (or download them from Line6) and save them to your User Patch locaitons - and allows you to save your User Patches to your computer in the event you want to overwrite the locations with new patches but still come back and reload them at a later time. Also good if you ever need to do a factory reset, which deletes any user patches you have created.
  12. Unfortunately, its not an uncommon problem. Have you made sure you have all firewalls and anti-virus software termporarily disabled? To update the firmware on my FBV MkII Express and Spider amp I eventually used another computer running XP. But Spider Edit works fine on my W7 computer.
  13. I would assume he would have to set Logic's MIDI to control the PF plugin the correct way, otherwise, yes, the FBV will control Logic, not the plug-in. If he wants to control PodFarm with the FBV, then he would run that in stand-alone mode, feeding the ouput to the input Logic for recording.
  14. I saw a new JTV guitar model in a catalog the other day, more updates/models to that line would not be unexpected, as expansion of the PA line as well. I assume that Line 6 is comfortable with amp sales, otherwise a new 'Valve' model line might have been introduced long ago.
  15. When you save tones on your Spider IV, you are saving them in the USER banks. That's what you access with the A, B, C & D buttons. You can't access the Song/Artist preset patches from the FBV, only from the front panel of the amp. You don't use the FBV Control software for saving tones, that is for controlling a MIDI device. You use Spider Edit.
  16. I would be more inclined to think that there is either a short circuit in the input or that a component in the MP3 input circuit is blown.
  17. No, TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) cables won't do you any good. When you plug into the speaker output jacks on the combo amp, the internal speakers are automatically cut out of the circuit. The amp needs to see 8 ohm (or higher) impedance on each channel. If you hook up two 8-ohm speakers in series, that will give you a 16-ohm load, which will work, but reduce the amount of power (and hence volume) each speaker will see. If you hook them up in parallel, then the amp will be seeing a 4 ohm load which could damage it by overdirving the circuits.
  18. Timing is everything! I never noticed it myself, but I guess you would if you were holding a sustained note or chord and changed the patch. When I did changes it would typically be to change to a lead sound from a rhythm (or back), or to add a chorus.
  19. What OS are you running? Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon problem, I don't think Line^ hasever been able to figure it out. Suggestions are to uninstall (and deleted all leftover files) all Line 6 software and start again, try different USB outlets.
  20. If you only have the L from the amp plugged into the cabinet, then the left channel is going through the cabinet and the right channel thorugh the right speaker in the combo amp. If the left speaker in the combo is working too, then something's not right and you are overloading the amp due to the combined impedances,
  21. I've never seen that. I think you would need to use Spider Edit to view all the settings for any preset patch.
  22. There should be no reason for the tone to change randomly - is it a sudden change or gradual? If sudden, it sounds like the amp may be shutting off momentarily and reverting to the preset sound. Make sure your power cord is plugged securely into the back of the amp and to the wall outlet. If its a gradual change, then there is definitely somethign wrong with the amp. If you bought it new, it is still under warranty, bring it back to the store for exchange (the 15 is not field servicable).
  23. I'm not sure the 30 has a noise gate, but it is in the FX menu (its not a physical device). use your 4-way button to navigate through the FX menu screen options.
  24. Unless you have an old 'tube style' (non-LCD flat screen) computer monitor, the only RFI interference that you might get from your computer is if you are using a laptop with a power supply. Humm/buzz can be checked in this situation by running the laptop on battery to see if the noise disappears.
  25. Sign into your Line6 account, check your license manager, and download PF2 again.
