  1. IF that's the case then ther eis something wrong wiht your amp and you should bring it to an authorized service center for evaluation.
  2. There are some pretty good Leslie sim pedals out there and PodFarm has a decent one, but Line 6 have not put that into a Spider option.
  3. Try connecting the FBV first (no CAT5 cable connected to amp), call up Spider Edit, then connect the amp.
  4. It's not a bug, its all dependent on the settings: Your total volume is based on a combination of the Channel Volume (which is part of any preset you are using) and the Master Volume. If the Channel Volume is set very high, then at a certain point the Master Volume no longer increases the volume when you turn it up - you have reached the maximum volume output of the amp.
  5. No, that could not happen. Note that using the FBV way you describe is not MIDI. MIDI = Musical Instrument Digital Interface. The FBV, the way you had it hooked up is just a communication device between the software (Spider Monkey, Edit, etc) and the amp. If your guitar makes a loud buzzing or humming sound when plugged into any amp (note: try different power outlets, as it could be a power supply problem) then it may have an internal grounding/shielding issue. If the amplifier had somehow delivered a high voltage or current spike to your guitar, it might have damaged the pickups, but there is no real way for this to happen unless something was not hooked up correctly (for example, if you plugged your guitar into the speaker output jack). I'm not familiar with the Spider Valve series - you posted this in the Spider IV area of the forum - but assume the Spider MkII has tone-edting available like the Spider IV series?
  6. Take a look at the homepage - new amplifier line: AMPLIFI. Could this spell the beginning of the end for the Spider series?
  7. Yes, you save to the User Patch locations. Note that when yu do this, you write over any existing patch in that location - but you have 64 locations available!
  8. Does your guitar have active pickups, and if so, have you put a new battery in? Have you tried plugging in a set of headphones to the UX2, rather than your speakers?
  9. Start a support ticket - I haven't seen any Line 6 communications regarding Windows 8 updates.
  10. From what someone posted in the SPider section of these forums, do your changes in Spider Edit without connecting your computer to the amp via your FBV pedal. Once you have saved the patch in Spider Edit, connect the amp, then move the patch over to the amp.
  11. You can't - it's not wired that way. Assume this is the FBV Express Mk II?
  12. If you have the Shortboard hooked up to the amp and a computer via USB, then it is communicaiton device between the amp and hte computer, for doing updates with Line 6 Monkey or patch editing with Spider Edit. The buttons won't work, because you are in communication mode.
  13. Possibly loose knob problem - vibrations when you play 'waking' the channel volume knob. Couple of things you can try - easy one is to put the channel volume to '0' first, then select your patch. A rubber oring placed under the knob will make it less apt to turn from vibrations. If its not that, you might need to do a factory reset (hold the A button in while turning on the amp) but make sure you back up all your user patches with Spider Edit first.
  14. When the changes happen, are you playing fairly loud? It sounds like hte typical 'loose knob' problem - vibrations are causing the selection knob(s) to move. One solution to this is to put a rubber oring under the knob, making it more difficult to turn. The picture you attached is too small to really see anything (only a thumbnail is saved). I'd suggest trying over at the gibson.com forums.
  15. It's been a LONG while! I think we've got all we're going to get with the Spider IV. We'll have to wait to see what Yamaha )new parent company) decides to do with the line.
  16. No, the FBV does not send MIDI data, it is just a switch board.
  17. So you are taking downloaded patches, changing some parameters in them, then trying to save these to your amp? (just trying to get this clear) Make sure the downloaded patches are for Spider amps - may of the tones at Customtone are for POD devices or Podfarm. Are you trying to change Wah models (if so, are you sure you have the acutal models instlaled in your amp, they may be part of the Infusion update?), or the low-to-high settings on the pedal (I'm not sure those can be saved in Edit).
  18. What version of PodFarm do you have installed? You need 2.5 to use it as a plug-in - make sure you have the current version of 2.5.
  19. I don't know British guitar pricing, but the Squier linked above seems high-priced to me - 301 pounds ~ $500. The same model sells for less than $400 at Guitar Center. Used Fender Strats can be picked up for that price as well, and used Squiers Classics for under $300.
  20. When you do the changes in Spider Edit you should be able to hear the changes in the amp as they are done - can you? Are you using ab FBV MkII pedal (you don't mention one)?
  21. No, the FBV cannot be used that way, with Spider Control, the FBV can send MIDI signals to a MIDI device or software, but its the software doing it.
  22. You'll have to tell us what device you have! If its a Spider amp, you do it through the selection screen on the amp.
  23. Have you looked at the POD HD series of floor controllers/pedals?
