  1. I agree regarding the cables and connectors. Since I first got my Spider IV 75 I have noted that the amp jack does not hold the cable connector very securely.
  2. You definitely should not be getting 2 effects activated at the same time on the same control. You will need to bring yoru amp to a factory-authorized service center.
  3. The 'loose knob' syndrome is known, but hadn't heard it happening on anything but the volume knobs before. Touching the knobs activates them, so that is normal behavior, but the fact that if you turn it off and it still goes back on is not good. You could try a factory reset (note that this will delete all your user patches), but this might be something that needs to be looked at by a service center.
  4. I'm not familiar with the Mk1 pedal (you must have the old version, to be using it with the Spider II), but it sounds like the CAT5 cable/connector may not be functioning correctly - definitely the weakest part of the system.
  5. Don't set your channel volume to 100%. The combined total volume is going to be the same - you will notice if you have your channel volume at 100% that when you turn the master volume past a certain point it does not get any louder - you've already reached the maximum amp output. Instead set your patch channel volumes so that when you change patches the volume is where you want it to be, irrespective of where the master volume is set. Then use master volume to adjust the sound based on the overall loudness you need for the place you are playing.
  6. Sorry you are (both) having problems. On the Spider IV 120 - is this a new amp that you just got, or did this suddenly happen? Are you able to change patches and adjust settings (as shown on the LCD panel)? Did you try a different guitar and cable? Factory reset? Do you have a way to plug an MP3 player into the CD/MP3 input to see if the amp secion of the 120 is working? Factory-authorized service centers are required for warranty service (no different than any other manufacturer). Not familiar with the POD, but suggest you make sure you have the correct settings, outputs set correctly (through computer or cabled to amp), etc.
  7. It is what it is, unfortunately. But the delay really is minimal and the only time you would really notice it would be if you were holding a note/chord and switched patches. I used it in live situation, changing patches when I went from one part of a song to another (verse to chorus, etc), and never noticed the very short delay.
  8. Keep trying, or call the tech support phone line. Line 6 folks do not check these forums regularly.
  9. On the plug-in you should be able to go in and delete components of whatever preset is selected. You can also select just 'parts' of PodFarm as a plug in (amp, mods, etc) - what have you tried?
  10. The FBV does not have a MIDI connector, only USB - you need to run it to your computer, use Line 6 Control software to control devices hooked to the computer. Not sure if you can install the Line 6 software on your iPad.
  11. Note that when you change settings (such as a preset or to manual), you need to 'wake up' any of the controls by touching/turning it. If you had 'Drive' cranked up all the way, then changed the preset/manual setting, Drive would revert to what that preset is.
  12. Looks like the OP never came back to answer after Oct 1, maybe he found the problem. stnbc - have you tried recording a dry track, then going back and adding PF as a plug-in on the track? (after it has been recorded, not when recording)
  13. No photo attached! You could try a factory reset - hold the 'A' or 'Clean' button in while turning on the ppwer, and hold it in for 5-8 seconds. Note that this will delete any user preset patches you have created and saved (in a model 75 or higher).
  14. Sorry, I can't open the file - "3ga" format not sure what that is! Can you upload in MP3 or WAV?
  15. Sorry, I can't listen to sound files at work, will try to remember to listen at home this evening and let you know what I think. I can tell you with certain active EMGs people have had problems with the Spider amps - from what is described, the amp's input circuit gets overdriven by the voltage. The only solution I have read about is it use a stompbox (any kind that does not have 'true bypass') to condition the signal.
  16. Please be more specific when you say 'does not work with the amp'. Do you mean you get no sound, or that you are unable to achieve a good sound?
  17. That's not what I read, but I can't verify either. A chamber-bodied LP and a 335 both would work for maximum sustain and controlled feedback.
  18. Are you in manual mode when this happens or are you using preset patches? Have you tried a factory reset? Note that this will delete any custom patches you have set up in the User Patches. To do a factory reset, hold the A button in while turning on the amp power, holding it for about 8 seconds.
  19. islota - not sure what you are getting at (except you seem to have some real background issues with 'corporate america' and 'capitalism') - yes, it could be done, with multiple devices, computers, software, etc, but what's the point? Why run all that instead of a simple RJ45 cable to the amp? telling users to switch amps is not helping anyone. Do you even have a Line 6 amp?
  20. EJ used an LP on Cliffs of Dover (you can tell by the sustain). With your Strat, you might try with the middle or neck pickup rather than the humbucker bridge pickup.
  21. Check to make sure you didn't accidentally save the 'bad settings' (wrong channel volume) in your preset location. Resave it at the correct channel volume. The master volume setting is not saved in your preset patches.
  22. The only way for a Line 6 amp to 'talk' to a computer is via an FBV pedal, and it's not 'MIDI', is is the Line 6 system, however the signals can be used for MIDI control by using Line 6 Control software. As you are proposiing hooking up the FBV pedal to a computer, it's not wireless .... might as well just run the cable to your amp, eliminate the 2 computers, extra FBV, extra cable ...
  23. What guitar are you using? EJ's preferred axe is a modified Strat with maple fretboard. Live he uses both a Marshall 100 watt and a Fender amp. Effects are fuzz, delay and flanger.
  24. yes, there is a CD/MP3 input jack on the front panel of the SPider IV 15. Use a stereo 1/8" M to 1/8" M cable to plug your iDevice to the amp.
