  1. For high gain rhythm I use the hard gate after whatever boosts. The digital delays I use after the amp, the tape echoes I use before the amp but after any overdrive stomps. Chorus, phaser, tremolos, I place either pre or post depending on how I want to use the effects. Pitch effects I place as close to first as possible, or in path b and blend with the mixer for mock 12 string sounds. Compressors I find more effective after the amps, but before of I'm using as a gain stage (which I don't really do anymore). For synth sounds I use something like the synth o matic and place it near the start of the chain like pitch effects for better note tracking
  2. I've taken the rubber feet off of mine, replaced them with washers, applied pieces of industrial strength Velcro to the bottom and stuck it to a Pedaltrain board that comes with a case. The adapter is always plugged into my 500x, the thin cord bundled, tied off under the PT board and the wart itself is velcro'd to the board so the prongs are sticking out of a hole on the front of the board, where I plug in an extension cord.
  3. I think it's actually been an equipment demonstration for at last 25 years
  4. Running a preamp into a preamp doesn't usually sound good, but it's not impossible
  5. You assume the worst. That's a smart thing to do. Also: RTFM can help
  6. Line6 Footwear. Imagine..shoes that model other shoes.
  7. You could always throw them up on customtone and have him download them
  8. ^Yeah it's not like drums or anything.. I was in a band where different parts of the drum set were owned by the different members of the band. Most of it is still here even tho the band isn't
  9. I've used a two channel power amp for a while and ran two guitars into my Pod HD on separate paths and output them to separate speaker cabs just for practice at my house but not live. I've also use that second channel/cab for synth sounds from a tablet into some looping pedals. Fun times
  10. It's also good to know that if you get a two channel 1000w SS poweramp, you're cutting your actual power in half to share the wattage where as if you had separate poweramps you could bridge both and be twice as loud. YMMV
  11. I'm only on my phone but that sounds like a digital delay and stacked reverbs. I'm sure a combination of Octo and Particle verbs can get you that sound
  12. I often don't use the SH effect for ambient patches, but if you are, single notes are where its at. You also have to know what scale/mode you're playing in and set it accordingly, as mentioned above. When I use the effect, I set the mix around 30%. For my ambient patches, I either want them to sound like a guitar or like something else, so I'll either use amp models or no amp. Volume swells are fun as well. You can even assign the bypass volume to the expression pedal if you're not using an amp model. In the delay category is also the auto volume effect, which I place first sometimes for nice auto swells, and with the swell parameter you can set how quick the swell will be, or you can just assign the parameter to the expression pedal and have have fun. I often use both signal paths, sometimes one of them having a pitch up effect and the other a pitch down, or just one pitch effect (where you can accurately use the mix knob and bypass the B signal path all together) and you could use either the Pitch Shifter or the Smart Harmony effects. I like putting two SH's in either path and mix in a 3rd and/or a 5th for chordal organ sounds, for example. Particle and Octo reverbs usually get stacked and tweaked according to what I'm trying to achieve, and don't forget the looper! A few different patches with subtle soft licks layered on top of each other is sure to get some panties moist.
  13. Yeah, just keep using it until it melts your shoe. Awesome advice :D Jokes aside, did you buy the device used or new?
  14. You want alternatives to the one spot? How about the original adapter? :D or there's always these http://m.ebay.com/itm/371392661205?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
  15. I doubt Pod drivers were made for the iPad (Idk for sure as I don't own an iPad) so I think the only way to use it this way is to get a separate audio interface made for the iPad (those exist, right?) to run the pod into
  16. But can it hold up against a drummer and another guitar player with a tube combo? I guess it really depends on what kind of music you're playing. You wanted to know if you had any options for running sound in stereo, something the .44 can't do. A two channel solid state poweramp could run two cabinets in stereo but they would both share the available wattage. I had my eye on a Crown XLS1500 after my Carvin crapped out.
  17. US: http://m.ebay.com/itm/371392661205?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 Different design, obviously. It looks more like a laptop PS. if and when my power supply craps out this is probably what I'll be getting, because the wart being in the middle instead of on the plug itself, it would fit nicely onto a power strip
  18. I used to run a thousand watt Solid State carvin dcm1000 PA power amp to power either by 212 and/or my 412 cabinet before I went to FR speakers. it was plenty loud and didn't color the sound
  19. I have that same Alto. I play in a cover band and an original metal band with a total of three guitar players. I've still never pushed my Master Volume on my Pod or my Alto past 12 o'clock and have been plenty loud. Take a look at your presets and get as much volume from your channel volume as you can. I still don't even dime that and I'm plenty loud with headroom. Move the speaker away from the drummer and put it up on a stand.
  20. Check this out: www.line6.com/customtone/tone/1964873 By default it's set to clean. Hit FS1 and the clean amp turns off and the dirty amp turns on.
  21. Are you using high gain for rhythm chugging or for leads? I can build you a simple patch
  22. Either dual paths or use a clean amp and get your distortion from stomps n comps. How high gain is your high gain?
  23. First, start off by not offending people on this forum..
