Haven't tried that, just assumed it was a few steps, discrete choices, not like continuously turning your guitar's volume knob.

How about allowing an expression pedal to control impedence? Besides not needing your hand, or impedence detection, folks with an active buffer in their guitar (like me) or active pickups could use it.

Interesting, and weird, but cool that you're narrowing it down. Still don't get why everyone wouldn't see that behavior with your patch that had those settings though. Make sure to update your support ticket, so they know to look in that neck of the woods.

Specific DSP amounts used by each block aren't listed. Helix just won't let you add blocks there's not room for.

These aren't presets, they're IRs, which do exist for free, but also are quite commonly commercial offerings from professionals, since quite a bit of knowledge, experience, care, and gear is involved. I'd never heard of Dr Bonkers before seeing his postings, and this pack is like doesn't-even-matter cheap, so for me this thread is a plus, however deeply involved with their stuff I end up being.

Very cool and interesting, nice! Just my $0.00002... A bit more push on the vocals would have matched the instruments better IMO.

Exports from MixIR2 aren't standard wav files you can load into Helix? What format are they that DAWs can use but Helix can't?

Note also that copy-paste doesn't work that great in a snapshots environment.

This. Agree that all the models sound very similar outside of their frequency ranges, and that's adjustable anyway. Q really should be adjustable too.

If it's still borked, call Line 6 support, they're excellent. If you have a copy of the receipt from the original new purchase, the warranty is transferable.

Turn on the input pad, more likely to avoid clipping than anything to do with input impedence.

Not pointing at anyone in particular, because it isn't anyone in particular, or this thread in particular, but it seems like the overall tone around here has gotten more confrontational and abrasive lately, don't know why. Much of the net is like that, but this forum really wasn't, with fairly rare exceptions. Liked that better, personally.

I get that, but my questions still stand. Open strings must be flat, so overall the guitar would feel flat in that range of the neck.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why these two sets of settings are different? Are the Helix settings in cents? I also don't get how come both sets have all but one or two strings flat. Seems like that'd make the guitar "seem" flat in general.

Be aware also that copying and pasting blocks doesn't work well if the block has different settings across snapshots. Ideally, maybe, the settings for each snapshot would come with, but that doesn't appear to be the case. OTOH, that makes no sense unless you have the same snapshot layout in the source and destination presets. OTOOH, maybe only the current snapshot's settings should paste into the current snapshot in the destination preset. PITA though if you actually do have the same snapshot layout in both presets and mean to copy all 8 snaps worth of settings.

I use both switches as they work now, but I can see that they might be less useful for other people who work differently, who might well wish they were configurable. Still surprised it's important enough to make a Helix unusable for you.

This. Except that if you have different distortion volume settings for each snapshot, you'll still have to tweak them separately.
