  1. I have been using the pitch wham effect to transpose my guitar. It works almost just as good as the capo. It was already in full polyphony, as far as I'm concerned. There are some glitchy sounds when the note is about to die. The 3.0 poly capo is simply making it slightly better and slightly more reliable.
  2. yeah I have a Shure wireless... but sometimes, I have to work plugged in, especially when I'm recording stuff, so there's no noise. I wish there were some kind of a "yoke" thing for the cable. I dunno...
  3. Hi there. Just wondering: how do you keep your instrument cable? The thing that I find kind-of inconvenient is that the 1/4 inch cable plugs into the back panel. So there's a possibility that the guitar cable can get in the way of the expression pedal/buttons. Do you tape the cable down, so it doesn't get in the way? Or do you weigh the cable with the Helix itself? Any other hacks/tricks? thanks, d.
  4. btw, this started happening since 2.90
  5. What's incredibly rude about a comprehensive post explaining preexisting issues? Your post is incredibly rude, dude.
  6. After 3.0, all of the old bugs I've known have not been addressed. Workarounds are indicated where applicable. old bugs: 1. disabling touch-sensitivity on buttons doesn't actually disable it 2. mono-out 1/4" is just the left channel, until you plug in a 1/4" cable into the right channel, and unplug it. Then it becomes mono. 3. Going into tuner and exiting the tuner on the LT doesn't bring you back to the previous screen: it's either the block edit view or the performance view. It can be changed by changing any setting in the global settings for the buttons. For the LT, it makes sense for it to go back to the performance view (Snapshots, etc) after exiting the tuner, otherwise it's an additional button press. 4. HX edit bug introduced in 2.9, still here: if you put the cursor on a specific block and CTR+S it, it doesn't get saved. The only way to change where the cursor is placed in your chain is to make an additional change in your preset, such as disabling a block, CTR+S, enabling a block, putting the cursor on the necessary block, and CTR+S. new bugs: 1. loud pop/clicking sound when switching between 2 snapshots where the Acoustic Sim was on and now is off. The acoustic sim is pretty good I gotta say, the most important feature for me, actually. But it has that certain hissing sound, like a sample is being played when you strum notes/chords. Like it's a hissy recording.
  7. For the sake of consistency, if there is an option to disable stuff, it should disable it :). I am just very "lucky" that I manage to mess up settings live in the heat of the battle. I want to disable everything I do not need to be on, and if I could, I would want to completely lock the unit, leaving just the buttons/exp pedal working. I would definitely disable the on the fly editing option as well, where you can tweak settings of all your blocks with your feet. It's convenient to some, but I do not want to have any remote possibility of getting stuck in some weird menu live.
  8. It's also on the floor model as well. There's no way to disable "swap snapshots", etc. Same thing with the tap tempo button, if you touch that it brings up a global tempo menu. No way to disable that.
  9. Pretty cool update! New features and new bugs, and old ones that have not been fixed: old bugs: 1. disabling touch-sensitivity on buttons doesn't actually disable it 2. mono-out 1/4" is just the left channel, until you plug in a 1/4" cable into the right channel, and unplug it. 10. This issue is intermittent on my LT in 2.91. What I did to fix it is to change Global Settings/footswitches/Snapshot Mode Switches... Just toggle the setting and toggle them back. Auto to Manual. Then it started working as before. Definitely some kind of a bug.
  11. I own both: an LT and Helix floor model. I got the Helix floor after I got the LT and got it as a backup, yes that's right a backup. I find the scribble strips difficult to read, they reflect the light more than the main screen. Plus the giant camera icon... Plus it's not clear if the snapshot is selected or not. In short, I prefer the LT layout hands down. I wish they had an LT with a solid expression pedal, that would be a perfect unit.
  12. and now there is a bug where disabling it doesn't actually disable it :)
  13. My 2 Cents: Like many have said, companies deliberately introduce products that are imperfect. With the Helix, which is pretty much a computer with some buttons/knobs/in-and-outs, it's all about the software. The software is not perfect. It will never be perfect. The Line 6 people are purposely milking it with gradual improvements... and/or things do get developed gradually over time. Sure, the Helix can have an amazing surfy reverb sound, but they are deliberately taking their time with it. Similarly, the EX "Freeze" pedal, they could have released it 4 years ago. Or how about the concept of a "Global Block" that people have been asking for for years. Not now, not yet... Maybe they'll introduce these in the next generation of the Helix. Let's look at Apple, the first iPhone. It was fantastic, but the camera did not shoot videos, you could not switch between apps, you couldn't copy and paste! All those things could have been implemented from the get-go. However, Apple wanted to say "the new and improved, the best iOS ever..." etc. It took a few years until we could do copy-paste in iOS, while many phones from the early 2000s could do those things. Having said that, the Helix is damn-near perfect for my needs. I keep tweaking my sounds and the more time I spend with it, the better my tones get. I'm glad I bit the bullet and switched over to the digital side. If it weren't for the Helix, I wouldn't have been able to record guitar during the quarantine. Just this weekend, I finally dialed in the perfect surf "drip" reverb sound. I'm sure Line 6 could have included it as its own separate effect years ago. But anyway, here it is, if anybody's interested: -d.
  14. I managed to dial in that "drip" reverb sound. I made a little video too. I feel like Helix effects are extremely powerful, but out of the box everything sounds like lollipop! When I got it, I figured I' be able to get my basic DS-1 + Fender amp sound in no time, wrong was I! Anyway, take a listen to the said "drip" here:
  15. I successfully created the effect. Here you go.
  16. Here you go... Something I just figured out.
  17. Hey guys/gals: If anybody's curious here's a video explaining my acoustic sound patch, what I used. Check it out. And if it's been helpful, plz subscribe. thanks!
  18. You can clearly see in the images that the buttons on the LT are more spread out. The up/down buttons are visibly further to the left than on the floor.
