i would venture to say most of the users who are getting good results are the people who are doing what your doing. get the basic operation down and start turning knobs. pick an amp get it sounding good and add flavor. of course there's always meambobbo... http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/

before selecting a patch, set the volume and drive to zero. one of potentiometers may be faulty and subject to movement causing a volume change

i pretty sure you have to reflash the firmware to get back to default settings. as far as keeping your settings, just save them and you can recall them if you happen to change them

try spacealt's suggestion

your amp may be one that is covered by bulletin 59. the transformer is the subject of that bulletin. call line6 and inquire about it. certain serial numbers are affected.

Zinc Rechargeable Batteries
toneman2121 replied to Redwellie's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
if you are supposed to use alkaline, aren't those 1.5? i don't see any detrimental effect using batteries with a slight voltage difference. you can also use alkaline rechargeable's. they are 1.5. -
at this point i'm not expecting an update at all
