In general I agree with you. However, if they hadn't said anything and just sprung it on the world, I can only imagine the hordes of outraged customers that just bought a HD500X / Firehawk / Axe FX / Kemper and wanna blow up Line 6 for keeping it a secret... and despite the few posters that swear they won't switch without global blocks or scenes, I bet there are a boatload of Axe and KPA users ready to switch for the overwhelming feature set in a single floor package...

yeah we are all just dying to help you since you chose to scream your issues at us... this is a user forum for other users to try to help you, not a factory support site. If you think it's broken, drop a support ticket. If you want help, stop ranting, drop the bold and underlines and there are plenty of helpful users here... good luck on those other sites too by the way... If you want our help try being more specific with your overall problems so we can understand the issues

HD500 and 500X can literally do almost any tone you want. Including dual amps blended to create unique new tones. The effects are stellar too and it is very flexible for routing capabilities. It might help to know what you are playing through and exactly what tone you are looking to approximate...

haha! didn't even know that was you! FR sent...

sounds great and the wah is believable too... tried clicking on the blues/rock link but nothing happens...

totally different architecture, routing, FX, amps, separate cabs, IR's... no way anything translates directly. Expect to build all new patches. ;)

I love my Trio but I use it with a HD500 so it's a little different. In the HD500 I can set up dual paths with one for guitar and the other for the Trio. See my post below. With Firehawk you only have one path so its different. I think your only real option is to go from the Firehawk into the Trio and then to your amp/PA. Use the correct output from the Trio accordingly. If you are using a PA or monitors, you should be able to run one Firehawk out to the PA and the other to the Trio. Now send the Trio mix output to the PA too with a dummy plug in the Trio amp output. That will give you the pure Firehawk amp tone in one channel and the clean drums and bass on the other channel. Run it in mono and it will sound great. If you are using a guitar amp, just run from the Firehawk to the Trio to the amp. You really have no other choice... http://line6.com/support/topic/14706-hd500-with-digitech-trio-pedal/

gives them more time to add the Freidman amps and cabs... :D :D :D :D

I too want to see amp/cab packs from specific manufacturers. I already posted an idea for a Freidman pack... That would be awesome! Would love to see pack of Friedman amps and cabs for the Helix and the HD series. Heads: - BE-100 (3 modes BE, HBE, CLEAN) - Buxom Betty - Dirty Shirley Cabs: - Buxom Betty 112 (Celestion G12M Creamback) - 412 Cab ( 2 Celestion Greenbacks -top, 2 Celestion Vintage 30's - bottom) Vote it up! http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Friedman-Amp-Pack/754564-23508

I would say that the if the update was for anything amp related, it would almost certainly be to improve something over the previous version, thus making my tone even more desirable. Most updates have been to enable new or improve certain functions or to allow better integration with new products. Even the update that added new amps didn't actually change the older ones that I am aware of. It's not as if the updates actually introduce new algorithms although that would be pretty awesome...
-
no disrespect but that doesn't make sense to me... the FX-8 is $1300 and only FX, no amps or any of the other features of the Helix... You should just add a M-13 if you want more FX as that links by midi and everything saves with the patch in the POD.
-
my question is would you still be using the identical patch 3 years later? I am constantly changing little things and sometimes don't keep a patch the same for 3 weeks! as long as things improve update to update I'm good with it. I've never really noticed any tone changes with an update without actually changing something...
-
I agree totally but unfortunately, NO! Should have been fixed ages ago...
-
You are using the XLR outs which are at mic level, much lower than the 1/4 outs which are at line level. Change from XLR to 1/4 outs on the POD and you will be good to go.

I'm changing planes again!

And such a sweet, rich clean too... We need a Freidman amp pack! vote it up on IdeaScale...

I don't know about the IC but you can get a lot of Line 6 parts from Full Compass including the display... LCD Display for HD500 Line 6 Accessories & Parts & Hardware | Full Compass

You can tie the speed to an expression pedal and switch from fast to slow that way and it works like a variable speed... very cool, can't wait to use the Helix version...

I like where you have it now as it still gives you the unvibed signal to mix in. With the split path you can also try centering the mixer. Try bringing the depth down to 35, bump the feedback up to 40 and the mix to 100. You may also want to add a red comp in front of the amp set to 60/60 to bring out the tone a bit. It also sounds good in front of the amp and after the amp but definitely before the delays and reverb. I have never gotten a decent tone with it last unlike the Rotary...

Is anyone really happy with there Jtv?
radatats replied to capdoogie's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
holy crap! what do you have in that Prosonic, 24" speakers? Must weigh a ton or is that a midget strat? LOL... -
my bad... not sure if any are truly polyphonic, it will be a first for Line 6 if there is...
-
read the chart, it lists mono or stereo or both for all the effects... http://line6.com/data/6/0a06439cc32f55b13d5d8e678/application/pdf

Nope, it only chooses the voicing on the DT standalone. The voicing is a combination of amp/cab/mic and reverb model. You can change that to whatever you want using a third party editor like DT Edit and a USB-midi device and your computer. You can only change actual topology using your POD or with an editor. Once changed with the editor it remains as you set it. The DT topology switch lets you choose from 8 stored amp/cab/mic/reverb combinations; 4 in channel A and 4 in channel B.

It wouldn't necessarily help to see what someone else has on voicing IV because it is changeable by the user! Yours may well be different from someone else. You can always try building patches in the POD using the full amp model instead of the preamp model to match your DT in LVM. There is no right or wrong way to do things so just do what your ears tell you is best! By the way, any USB - midi device will work to connect your computer to your DT, you don't have to use the UNO...
