  1. Sounds awesome! post some pics and sound clips when you get a chance. Love to see the new bridge and definitely the Bigsby...
  2. Do I have to unplug it each time that i use it or not ? ... What is the danger of leaving it RUN all the time ? - I often leave mine on for days with no ill effects. I suggest you get a decent switchable power strip and use that to turn it on and off. Which are the good chorus pedals right now to compensate for the weakness of HD500x (not too expensive ) ??? - I too find the chorus not up to par. I recently got a Zoom MS-70 CDR to go in the FX loop. It has a ton of great chorus models and it is about $120. Oh after the firmware update v1.32 , some presets has no sounds maybe a dozens of them or more ... why ? - check to make sure that the inputs are right. Sometimes things change during an update. Does the patch have a volume pedal? Make sure you use it... Can i join Line 6 staff to know from them if my orders is on his way ? ... it is my right not? - nope. this is a user forum for us users to help each other. You need to check with the retailer that sold you the guitar, not Line 6.
  3. Checkout Tracktion. I have used them all and this is the easiest, most intuitive I have found. Free to try, cheap to buy. http://www.tracktion.com/
  4. Sounds like the FX100 will work just fine then... have fun with it!
  5. Yes to both. If you have a Variax, then in HD Edit on the mixer tab you can define which model to bring up, alternate tunings, and how the tone and volume knobs act. On the controllers tab you can also assign the volume and tone knobs to control up to 50 amp and effect parameters each. For instance you can set the volume knob to adjust the drive, tone stack, compression levels and delay mix all at the same time. But you have to have a Variax for any of that to work...
  6. you didn't really say but from the last part of your post it appears you already have an amp/cab? and want to add a multi-effects board? If that is the case then either the HD500 or FX100 will work. However, there is a big leap between the two. The FX100 is less flexible and is based on older modeling technology. The tones are OK and many are fine with it. The HD500 has the latest modeling and offers a deeper level of adjustment and better effects. It is more flexible for the performing musician, has more in/out options, but requires more effort to learn and adjust. Either one can go straight to the board or mixer if you don't need to bring or use an amp. Now the AMPLIFi series can all record to USB just like the PODs. I haven't tried a FX100 but I have had my HD500 for a while now and I love it. I don't think I would want to trade it for the FX100 especially for live work. As for the price, the HD500X is on sale for about $360 at a few places which makes it a bargain over the FX100 at $250 in my eyes. Good luck choosing and stick around if you need help getting back into it.
  7. The G3 is too big for my board but worse, it does not have stereo in. It really is a standalone unit. The MS70 is better suited for insertion into the FX loop.
  8. I like the idea of adding to the POD's capabilities to expand your options. Not sure I want to bring a second 500 with me though. I have been looking for something to add to my pedal board that would offload some of the DSP and free up more dual amp intensive patches. I looked at the M5 which would fit and has midi too. Only issue there is it's only one effect and the bang to buck to DSP wasn't enough for me. The M9 would be nice but too expensive and won't fit. I ended up with a Zoom MS-70 CDR. It is a great unit in a single pedal size that only does Chorus, Delay and Reverb. It is a stereo unit and also has some other mod type effects and nice EQ. You can chain up to 6 effects at a time and save 50 preset combinations. It doesn't have midi but I have seen a hack on YouTube where you can send midi to the USB port so I may try to figure that out at some point. The effects are really good. It has 86 built in including a few Line 6 models like Particle verb and many others that the 500 doesn't have. I put it in the FX loop post amp and use it for all post effects. I just got it this week so I haven't had a lot of time to play with it but so far I really like what I am hearing. I will be putting it through the wringer over the next few weeks and I'll post again how it turns out. $120 ... http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MS70CDR
  9. I'm still trying to get mine to poot... never mind repoot... :D
  10. Really don't think there is that much difference when using the DT. I have one cab with V30's and another with Emminence Guvnors and you would be hard pressed to really tell the difference. There are so many options for tone within the POD that you kind of need a speaker and cab that doesn't color too much on its own. You can do all the coloration with the POD.
  11. I like your idea of the combo and the cab for a couple of reasons. The mix of open and closed back cabs could give you a nice range of options. The weight difference alone to lug around makes the 25 a winner to me (specs below). The price for the DT25 and cab is still $200 less than the DT50 2X12. Volume is another consideration but probably the lowest one for me. I have the DT25 head with a 2X12 cab and you can make a DT work without LVM at lower volumes by switching to topology 1, Class A/B, and Triode. Good luck! http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/dt50dt25/dt50dt25-weights-and-dimensions-r146
  12. yep, you need to load the right drivers and make sure you have a green light for it to work
  13. ok the Y shaped cable, does it have a plastic pod in the middle with a light on it? Did you load the drivers for it? Does it look like this?
  14. yep, usually out to in but swap them and see what happens. Is it a USB to midi cable or are you using an interface too?
  15. so the bigger question is what speaker cab are you using? What is your end goal? If you already have a good cab and just want an amp for it then there are plenty of good SS amps you can use and they are all good. Most folks though will choose a tube amp if playing through a guitar cab simply because a guitar speaker won't reproduce the full range flat response type tone you are getting from your POD. Then again with the right settings the POD will be just fine with a SS or tube amp and a decent speaker cab. Bottom line, the Quilter is good and so is the Crate. If you are just looking for a pedal board amp the the EHX 44 Magnum is good too.
  16. is the DT connected to your computer by midi and turned on? I use a M-Audio Uno USB to midi cable. Some folks have had issues with the cheaper ones, others no problems. Depends on the drivers. If you are connected right, your DT will show up in Monkey and its straight forward. from there.
  17. well the DT is still half computer so what you need to do is reflash the firmware. You have to connect by midi to your computer and run L6 Monkey. Re visit the issue after you reflash to the current firmware. Hopefully that fixes the problems.
  18. yeah, but that was written before the firmware update that enabled the POD Master and was not changed with the update. You need to use both Masters in some combination but it doesn't seem to matter which is higher.
  19. You need to install Gearbox with your GuitarPort to edit on the computer.
  20. You need to download the Pilot's Guide and the Advanced Guide to read up on how this all works. Basically the AUX input can be assigned to either the Guitar Amp and FX settings OR the Mic FX settings. If you want to use your POD through the AUX, you should assign the AUX to the Mic settings and then flatten the EQ and turn off the delay and compressor. Now you will have a clean POD signal without any Spider coloration. http://line6.com/support/manuals/spiderjam You could also send your POD Phones output into the Spider Jam CD/MP3 input and avoid all internal Spider AMPs and FX. If you want to use an MP3, plug it into your POD.
  21. looks great and has a nice riser for extras to boot...

    pod 400hd

this is the only place I know that has replacement parts. Hope they have what you need... http://www.fullcompass.com/brand/LN6/Accessories-Parts-Hardware.html
  23. they will definitely fit and I see no reason why they won't work... Sovtek claims it has 20 percent higher output than their 5881WXT. As yu see in the link below these are listed in the 5881 tube type section. Let me know how you like them! http://www.thetubestore.com/Tubes/6L6-5881-Tube-Types/Sovtek-6L6WXT Always fun to play with tubes...
  24. Definitely use the AUX in. From the manual: Aux Input This is for mics, drum machines, CD players, tape players, and anything else you might want to amplify at the same time as your guitar. It’s great for guitars that have a piezo (or any other sort of acoustic pickup) in addition to the regular magnetic pickups, as well as acoustic guitars with pickups. The cool thing about the Aux is that the signal is routed right past all the guitar distortion and effects processing, so you can have thrashing guitar along with practice CD, or an amplified acoustic guitar – even a clean vocal in a pinch – with no distortion or guitar processing on the clean aux channel. Nothing says whether this is a stereo input so you can either use one of the 1/4 outs on the POD sraight in or try an insert cable with both 1/4 outs to a single TRS jack. Get the manual for the AX2 here - http://line6.com/data/6/0a060b316ac34f059340080c1/application/pdf/AX2%20User%20Manual%20-%20English%20.pdf
  25. hahahaha... good one... honestly, I looked at them on line and can't see why they wouldn't work but I really don't know. They should swap out just fine.
