  1. As far as I know, the Plus turns into a stereo amp as soon as you plug into the external speaker jack. It sends 50 watts to both the internal and the external becoming a 100 watt stereo rig. I think you should be able to connect the internal speaker connections to one of the speakers in the 2X12 and connect the other speaker to the external speaker jack with a jumper cord. Should work fine.
  2. I did the same thing. I find that the reality is I usually only need to turn on and off a couple of effects in any given patch. Things like Noise Gate, Compression, and even Reverb tend to stay on always so no real need for a FS assigned. I try to keep distortion to FS1, Mods to FS2, Delays to FS3 and Reverb to FS4. I also use the two expression pedals a lot. I can assign mix on certain effects to the pedal to turn them on or off in groups just with the exp pedal or change the delay from short to long, stuff like that. I can take the amp from clean to dirty with a pedal and compensate with channel volume and tone stack too. Gives a huge range of options within a single patch and without a ton of tap dancing. I am thinking of adding a Zoom MS70 CDR to the board in the FX loop. I should be able to offload the delay/chorus/reverb and free up DSP for dual amp/cabs and other DSP heavy effects. Just wish it had midi included. Not real impressed with the POD chorus and there are a lot of options with this pedal. Anybody else have experience with this it?
  3. My bad, I was referring to my own DT 25, not the 50. Yes, the 50 has a level adjustment for the FX return and you will have to adjust it with the pre hooked up. I suggest you start with it low and just turn it up as you play into it until you are happy with it. Maybe another DT50 user has a better idea?
  4. just run it right into the FX return and it will hit the power section. There is no FX loop level adjustment on the DT. The controls on the DT will change Class A/AB and Pentode/Triode but the topography switch selects whatever amp model is set in position I-IV in channel A or channel B. You would have to use DT Edit with midi to configure the amps in I-IV to have actual matching topography so selecting I would then give you topo I, II gives topo II, etc.
  5. its been so long since I updated that I really don't remember... off hand I can't say I heard anything different. As a matter of fact, after putting the DT to the side to build PA tones for a few months I just started using it again. I have to say, my tones now are better than ever and I absolutely love this rig... If you really need to dial it back in, go for it...
  6. really hope you do post that stuff! I too want to learn how to use midi to enhance my POD use...
  7. never even heard of it but for $100, might be worth a shot... don't expect any help here though, this is for Line 6 users and products...
  8. sounds like you need to drop a support ticket... this is just a user forum and it sounds like you have a bigger issue...
  9. Nah, my money's on the tubes...
  10. Mouser is a repuatable source... pretty sure I matched these up right... 11. give more details please. check the input settings are correct too...
  12. yep, that looks right... http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=KOeOmFnJLTq0cGO5NIGsxA%3D%3D
  13. Surprisingly hard to find... anyone else have a good source? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=22X-000Y-00027 Some 500ma: http://www.radioshack.com/74-6sg500ma-b-6x30mm-500ma-miniature-glass-fuse/55048599.html#q=30mm%2Bslow%2Bblow&start=11 http://www.parts-express.com/littelfuse-500ma-3ag-slow-blow-fuse-5-pcs--071-686
  14. OK so after doing all the research, sourcing the parts and case I decided to check eBay. I found basically the same thing from Carl's Custom Guitars, $45 with free shipping. Forget making one, I bought the 16ohm one and should have it Tuesday. Basic but just the thing for a DT25. I don't need a giant rock crusher... Carl's Custom Guitars 16 ohm 50 watt Speaker Soak
  15. I'm pretty sure the T means Timed or slow blow, 2amp, 250 Volt Protection. Radio Shack should be able to replace your fuses with exact match. As far as tubes, it could well be. If you know what you are doing its not that hard to change and bias but like Zap says, there may be other issues at this point... http://line6.com/support/topic/3327-dt-50-25-tube-biasing-tips/?do=findComment&comment=21863
  16. there is a fuse built into the power receptacle. small rectangle just below where the plug goes in. See pic below. the other fuse is in the round holder right above the power receptacle.
  17. I can't imagine paying $4-500 for one of these for my DT25. However, I did find this site for DIY attenuators and I love it! I think I am going to order the parts this weekend and give it a try. I will post pics if I do it along with the results. Not including the case, parts are under $20... http://guitarprojects.weebly.com/diy-attenuator.html http://www.regiscoyne.com/Bohemian_Rhapsodyne/
  18. welcome to the Dream Rig club... yeah there is a lot to learn but there has been a ton of great info posted on these boards. Search and read and ask questions as you go. Read the Advanced guide for the POD and the DT and also the L6 Link Connectivity Guide. Getting a good acoustic tone from the DT is not that hard but you have to "trick" the amp... I posted this a while back and it is just what you are looking for. http://line6.com/sup...v-with-dt-amps/ If you want some starting points to build your own patches I have a few up on CustomTone that you can try out. Not so much that they sound amazing but rather that you see how I put them together, how the expression pedal can be linked to various effect parameters, etc. It takes a lot of time just playing and learning. Don't be afraid to mix and match things that don't necessarily go together or to change the default settings. Also the DEP parameters can help as well. http://line6.com/customtone/profile/radatats
  19. you got it right, no real need for another L2T unless you think you may need the extra ins/outs later...
  20. try this putting the M13 in the HD500 FX loop instead. Use a stereo insert cable (TRS to dual 1/4) from the POD FX send to the M13 stereo inputs and then from the M13 stereo output back to the POD FX return. Connect them both by midi too and then you can even save the M13 scene with the patch on the HD500. That should fix the problem...
  21. as an alternative, maybe not the best, but... You can reduce your DT volume considerably by changing to topology 1, class AB, and triode. Don't really know if it is worth it but you can crank it a lot more before you reach the same volume levels...
  22. Well I guess that was a little harsh... sorry... but I don't care what anyone tells you, don't fire up a tube amp without a load. Sure as hell something is bound to go wrong. I suppose you could just use your DT in STBY without a load and record from the direct out but why would you? You aren't getting any tube juice that way... (I would pull the negative vote but it doesn't seem to let me so I upped your last post)
  23. I know there are two fuses, the tube protection fuse and another in the power receptacle. Try that one... http://line6.com/support/topic/10238-dead-dt25-what-do-you-guys-think/?p=70469
  24. I can't say that I really try to match someone elses tone with a particular amp model. I just try to get the sound I want to hear. I think the JCM800 can be a brutal amp in the right patch. If you have a DT and a JTV, give this one a try and see what you think. You can always turn off the alt tuning and JTV model in the mixer tab with HD Edit it you don't want it. I uploaded a few other alt tunings to match the extras on a JTV89 to CustomTone too if you like it. Comments welcome. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/632246/ http://line6.com/customtone/profile/radatats/
