  1. Please check to see if you have a Pre model rather than a full model loaded in amp 2 slot. That won't have the Amp DEP as that is for the power section stuff...
  2. dude that was uncalled for... Silverhead and the other Experts have earned that designation from Line 6 for their constant tireless support to their fellow users throughout the history of this forum. I appreciate their help and input whether it always answers my question or not. As far as your general statement, IdeaScale is where ideas are posted and you can clearly see when they are active or in review. I recently had an idea I submitted moved from active to in review. Does that mean its incorporation is imminent? Who knows but at least I know they are reading them. We do get updates from time to time and the upcoming 2.6 incorporates ideas we have been asking for. They are an active company exploring multiple lines of effort across a broad range of musical equipment. Give them a break... By the way this is a users forum, not a company forum. We are lucky to have some factory input from a few knowledgeable folks but they are a publicly traded company and legal disclosure rules dictate how they communicate with us. We as users however, have no restriction. Just try to help one another with this gear instead of complaining about the company. If you want their attention, write them a letter directly.
  3. There are two fuses and they are probably both bad. Usually this indicates your power tubes need replacement. I suggest you get your amp checked ASAP as the fuses blew for a reason. Check out this thread for a bunch of good stuff for DT25, I think the fuses are the same... http://line6.com/support/topic/10327-dt25-head-dead/?hl=fuse
  4. None of us will know till its released...
  5. totally agree. Its a global eq so it means for everything all the time. They would have to further write the code to allow some way to choose on each patch whether to have it on or off otherwise, a lot of extra work and that's not what it is intended for. It really is there to let you make final tone compensation for the venue you are playing at, not to sculpt the specific tone of the patch. As to the OP's point, you would just set the EQ once for one band and when you are playing with them you turn the global eq on when you power up. For the other band you turn it off. Win/win all the way...
  6. your best bet may be eBay. Here is one for parts for $55, free shipping... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Line-6-Pod-XT-Live-Multi-Effects-Guitar-Effect-Pedal-Parts-only-/111583125178?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item19fadf5eba on the other hand you have a great excuse to get a new Firehawk FX...
  7. Of course each preamp, mic and cab combination will impart a specific tonal flavor but if you want to see what your base power section and speaker sound like you can do it with the POD. If you are using L6 link with your DT, set up a dual tone patch with an amp in channel A and no amp in channel B. Turn off the cab and mic for the amp in channel A and make sure the bypass volume is maxed on the amp block in channel B. Mute channel A in the mixer and center channel B. What this does is lock the power section to the channel A amp settings but allows the clean signal from channel B to go straight to the power section. This will let you hear what your amp sounds like without any preamp modeling, just the power section and the actual speaker and cab. You may see that the base tone of your amp is dark to begin with. Kind of gives you a reference to work with when building your tones with adding preamps, cabs, mics, effects, etc.
  8. However, and this is an awesome feature, if you are using it with a HD500 you can assign the variax tone and volume knobs just like expression pedals. That means you can assign the volume knob to control the amps channel volume directly to act just like a volume pedal at the end of your chain with no tone affected. Or you can assign it to control drive, gain, compression levels, delay times, up to 50 different parameters at once so one roll of the knob and you have a completely different tone... gotta love the variax...
  9. Consensus seems to be it will be like the previous models and you can load them on up to 4 separate devices but I haven't seen that written as a definitive fact yet.
  10. I am very happy with the HSS. I have always liked humbuckers anyways so it was a nice change to add the single coils. Truth is I use the models pretty much exclusively, hardly ever use the mags...
  11. just to be sure, the latest firmware is 2.32, not 1.32. I found no tone differences and from the support page there should be no sonic differences: POD HD500 RELEASE NOTES v2.32.00 POD HD500 Flash Memory v2.32 is a FREE firmware update for all POD HD500 users. This release addresses a noise glitch that could potentially occur when exiting tuner mode while streaming USB audio. It is strongly recommended that all users install this update as soon as possible. Although there should be no sonic impact to existing patches as a result of this update, it is recommended that you connect to the POD HD500 Edit application and back up any patches you may wish to keep as a precaution.
  12. there is no right or wrong answer, The DT standalone models use cab sims so what Zap said is correct. However, you can choose any combination you want, its totally up to you and your ears. Line 6 intended the cab and mic to be part of the tone but you are free to play around with it. trust your ears...
  13. I see what you did there but I can't hear what you said!
  14. Can't say for sure but from the POD Farm 2.5 Advanced Guide model gallery, pg 7-6 - Line 6 Piezacoustic 2 This one is designed to work with the piezo output of solid body electrics that have one of those newfangled bridges with the ‘acoustic’ pickup built in. Since you don’t have to worry about the body shaking itself to pieces with feedback on that type of guitar, we’ve cooked up this model with more low-mids and low frequencies. Try this one on your Line 6 Variax® guitar’s acoustic models too - you did get yourself a Variax®, right?
  15. yep, I guess I am pretty lucky too. Got a great local store, Imperial Guitar and Soundworks, and a mid size online retailer Alto Music with 2 big locations within 30 minutes. About 45 minutes to Guitar Center in NJ and if I want to make a day of it, a trip to NYC and a bunch of stores. Even so I do most of my actual shopping on-line with Sweetwater...
  16. it is not replacing the HD500 series. The Firehawk is basically an AMPLIFi FX100 with some HD amp models, better ins and outs, Variax, and geared towards performers more than bedroom players. It does not have the dual signal paths, multiple inputs, M-series effects, L6 link or some of the other more professional features of the HD series. That said, it certainly looks like it is a cool piece of kit...
  17. dude, chill out... I'll probably try it over the weekend and maybe some others will too... be patient, nobody is gonna drop everything to check it out or get back to you. Glad you posted it, keep contributing, just be patient with the group...
  18. whoa! that $hit will rip yer face off... :D
  19. you can't get any of the good glue from the old days... it's just this newfangled digital stuff... lol...
  20. I guess that is a good question... are there any new cabs or mics coming with the new amp models? I know in the initial announcement the pic had the 5150 matched to a Tread 4X12. I hope so just for some more options... Also wondering if these new amps will be available for the DT's as an update too... I already posted somewhere else about wanting an Effects Pack some time down the road with updated overdrives and distortions and maybe a polyphonic whammy or synth...
  21. I believe the global EQ is a 3 band parametric EQ with high and low pass and is separate from your patch EQ modules. It is basically applied to the output after your complete signal processing so you can make changes to suit the particular venue or environment you are playing at without changing each patch. It stays on all the time unless it has a bypass function but that would mean adding another FS so probably not.
  22. Difference here is it will keep your stereo paths where the MXR is mono right? I've been using the Zoom MS70 CDR with its 7 band stereo graphic EQ in the FX loop for this but it will be nice to see how this works instead.
