  1. Nope. I do believe that they will.... but they've never stated that they would... publicly or privately... just my opinion on the matter, that there will be updates eventually.
  2. keep in mind... if you buy new from the USA the warranty is only good in the USA.... (change USA for whatever country... same concept) so essentially you'd have no warranty... making it worth the risk to get used... IMO.
  3. guys, please start your own threads... .the original thread was for a PC problem not mac/mavericks
  4. top right of this page... select downloads and follow the menus
  5. google a picture of the front of the unit... you'll see that effects are limited to specific slots... gor example... you can't run a compressor and a screamer at the same time since they both exists on the FX1 slot. this also means you cant stack drives... run multiple delays etc.... also obvious things such as dual tones are not possible...
  6. you need to move and save the channel volume.... the master volume does not save.... but if you save all your patches correctly with the channel volume... the master volume raises/lowers them all equally... although volume itself can change perceived loudness... but that's another topic.
  7. it's a standard USB AB cable... commonly used for printers, you should be able to get one pretty much anywhere that sells computer related stuff.\ example: http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-Hi-Speed-USB-2-0-Cable/dp/B001MSU1HG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382734286&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+ab
  8. your understanding is not wrong... but the reason it does that is because the shaft opening in the plastic knob is too deep... so pushing the knob doesnt work since the knob is already touching the body of the guitar... many users simply wad up a bit of paper like a straw wrapper or whatnot and stick it under the knob... problem solved... (i'd still call and ask for a replacement knob, as it makes sense to do so...) most of the frustration you read on here is people assuming the worst as they work to the root of the issue. you have valid concerns, i'm just trying to add to your knowledge.
  9. change usb ports, reboot, try different cables, and possibly download drivers outside of monkey.... just a few idea to get you started.
  10. probably one of my favorite bands... i think of them more like johnny cash meets the clash... but yeah, good stuff! :)
  11. i doubt it would work.... certainly no official support either way.
  12. i'd give them a call... http://line6.com/company/contact/ they may refer you to the ilok support number though... depends on where its hung up at
  13. maybe you missed the economic collapse of 2008... employers had to trim numbers to stay profitable... anyway.... perhaps in better days....
  14. the very apparent reason is the limited DSP processing... the x3 with it's wealth of options, was a dual processor device... running lower resolution models... restricted in such a way as to allow such luxuries... i guess they figured... that they'd sell alot less units if they cost closer to 1000$ each.... for features that merely compliment the intended purpose of the device...yet do not define the device.
  15. In the simplest of terms... it's not our info to share... the Line6 employees you see on here are typically product mangers, and there are different managers for different products... all with different styles... and in different stages of their products/projects... they may not be here, because they have their sleeves rolled up and are working on the next whatever.... some may be around here, because they recently released a product and want to be visible. just like all of us here... time here... is time away from other things.... this user forum is a gift for all of us from line6...and i appreciate it for what it is... they have phone access and service ticket access for your direct needs.
  16. most of the knob issues you read about really are that silly plastic dial on the outside... a 3$ plastic knob... i can't recall any instance of it being the pot, or the underlying electronics... (they may exist though, and just be rare) a simple fix, or a new knob takes care of it... i think calling that a reliability issue is stretching... perhaps a quality control issue of the supplier? perhaps some of the knobs they get are out of spec? in any case, i agree you shouldn't have to deal with that given the price... but it's an incredible instrument and i can guarantee you that Line6 will make it right if you have the issue.
  17. I can never seem to get this tone just right... would love to hear what you can come up with. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnw3wHMdJMU
  18. yeah there was a sale to that effect on the hardtail 89 models if i recall... great price! that would have been a decent price for a used one even...
  19. no that's the korean price... closer to 4000$ for the USA models. perhaps you have one of the older variax's and not the James Tyler Variaxes?
  20. the digital interface (VDI) was left off the lower units in my opinion... yes to save money... BUT.... you have to consider that they weren't thinking much of the original variax guitars at the time... and the newer JTV guitars cost like 1500$ pretty safe to say that those aren't going to be in the hands of alot of struggling players... i'd have rather had the VDI than the L6LINK... at the time of release the L6LINK only worked with the DT50 (DT25 not out yet) so you're looking at a 1300$ amp at the low end.... it would have made more sense to leave that off as well... and lower the price.... but L6LINK was new... the amps were new... I think they were just trying to encourage users to get the new gear. as others have stated though... you'd end up regretting the 300/400 because of its limitations eventually... i'd recommend holding out for a 500... but i know sometimes its not always possible.
  21. you might try increasing the buffer in the line6 audio midi control panel
  22. My wild guess, is that it will be a quiet year for Line6... I truly know nothing... but i would not be surprised by a m12d mixer or a L1T speaker line. anything new outside of that and wireless maybe would be a welcome surprise... that's just where i see their heads at these days....
  23. there are no public schematics, but an authorized service center should have access to them. for your sake i hope they have your original board!
  24. I don't disagree with you... just don't expect them to suddenly make it a priority 3 years later..
