  1. (in windows) just select all 3 files, right click, "send to", compressed. this should make a single files that contains all 3 files in a compressed form (AKA zipped)
  2. http://customtone.com think they are all mixed in with the hd500 tones though.
  3. Fair enough... and at 4x the price it should be tasty! :D
  4. I was only guessing..... i dont know what list they had... i doubt amongst the many things the poor deceased mans family was concerned with when he passed... "call line6 to get taken off the list" made the rankings on their list... have some sympathy for the mans family. i'm sorry things didn't go your way... and as i said... if you take it up with THEM instead of ranting on a user forum... you'll get better results.
  5. service centers are independent, and clearly the list they have is out of date. If you're in the US, i'd simply request and RMA to ship it direct to L6 HQ i'm positive they will take care of you, it just may take a little longer due to shipping times depending on where you are at.
  6. not even close. Amplifi is not affiliated or associated with any of the Line6 dream rig configurations. It's more a practice tool or home jamming independent amp.
  7. keep in mind... you don't get metal shop presets.... look in the amp list for amps that start with MS, if you can access them it's working. if the license manager shows the metal pack, and you've done the authorization... you should be all set.
  8. that's a different issue still.... because in your first post you mentioned model packs.... and model packs ABSOLUTELY do NOT work with the ilok version... with ilok it's either a standard license (no model packs) or a platinum license (all model packs) no inbetween.
  9. if it's properly setup as your system soundcard it will. done it many times.
  10. that's not really the same problem at all. use the line6 license manager to authorize the pack.
  11. just select audio when you add the track.... selecting "guitar" or whatever will add the apple models.
  12. the biggest mistake that some people make is selecting "no cab" the default DT models DO use cab models. you can get the same tones. make sure that both the amp and the pod are up to date as things have been fixed over time that could make a difference.
  13. Yeah it's possible that the authorization somehow got corrupted in the confusion. curious though... why buy the ilok version? the non-ilok version is hardware independent and can be installed and authorized on 4 machines at one time. I had the ilok version, but have since gotten the other version... far cheaper than buying another ilok device and a license... and less hassle than moving the ilok everytime i want to work on an alternate machine.
  14. inspect the sockets with a flashlight, you may have a bent pin.
  15. As other suggest a good VDI cable, and I'd also get a good AES/EBU cable and i highly recommend you pickup an M-Audio UNO midi interface, since you'll want to update the amp.
  16. they do not have a variax area of custom tone... (been suggested since the original variax release, so doubt it will ever happen.) making an entire dream rig section incredibly unlikely.
  17. the 500 and the 500x use the exact same firmware software, only the processor is different. (and the footswitches but that has little to do with the firmware) the creation of the 500x makes it MORE likely that the 500 firmware will continue to be upgraded... NOT less likely.
  18. if you bought the ilok version for some reason and have a guitarport attached, then you've probably got conflicting authorizations.... the ilok probably says yes and the guitarport says no.... does it work if you remove the ilok? how about if you remove the guitarport? just as a troubleshooting... as you surely have them plugged in for a reason. i'd suggest calling support when they open tomorrow, they can straighten this out for you.
  19. you should be able to do what you want, really... the toneports and pod studios work just fine without pod farm. just make sure that you select the right input in the track on your DAW, and that your speakers are plugged into the toneport.
  20. I know it's frustrating, I honestly think you have a bad interface. i do think that if you flash from file, you will tend to have fewer errors. but you should be able to at least flash the firmware with the XT. i recommend doing it multiple times... seriously.. sometimes it helps to go back to like 1.7 and then jump to 2.0 with NOTHING else plugged into the x3 besides power and variax. the usual steps to allow communication from your PC might help as well... disable antivirus and firewall.
  21. humans at line6 only 9-5 m-f PST why not install a working firmware... and actually PLAY the guitar.... until you can get them to help you? a little less drastic....
  22. the fix is easy if you know it... but the panic if you don't... that kind of sucks. :D
  23. i'm guessing its a redface model.... they do not have a plugin license. and they only came with pod farm 1 and not 2. so get the right version of pod farm and that will get you out of trial mode at least... you may still be stuck without the plugin... but the plugin problem could be the same... since it sounds like you dont have a license for pod farm 2.x
  24. to add to Phil's comments... you might approach a service center over the phone and ask if they will get it for you.... they are independent and you're asking them to take their time with no return... so ask nicely and maybe they will help. you can try more than one as well... since they are totally independent.
