  1. Huh? Spillover between snapshots already exists... It's kind of the point of snapshots to an extent. Or was that statement a joke I'm not getting?
  2. I'm not sure if it was intentionally removed or not, but the one thing you can do now is simply right click on the parameter to see the list of available controllers. So just do that and select "None". That's almost just as fast... Maybe faster in the sense that you only have to use one hand to do it.

    New Reverbs?

There's 5 new HX reverbs (well kind of 6)... They're being added, and nothing is being replaced. Why would the delays be changing? They're already modeled under the HX platform. The reason the new reverbs are being added is that the existing reverbs were HD/M-series models ported over to the HX platform.
  4. You're making things too hard on yourself... What I'm saying is if you want to hear only magnetics and have that saved to a model slot, all you have to do pull that "Magnetics Blend" slider all the way to the right. That's it. That will give 100% magnetic pickups and 0% model.
  5. I'm saying that when you pull that bar over to right so it just says "Mag" and not a percentage, that is 100% mags, with none of the model blended in. The second post in this thread is incorrect.
  6. If you dial the modeling mix to zero and the mags to 100%, the body setting in Workbench is moot... It won't affect the sound. The one thing to be aware of with creating a custom model using the magnetic pickups is that the mags will always be affected by the actual position of the pickup selector.
  7. Noise gates pretty much always alter the tone in some way, which is why I hardly ever use them. It's just the nature of the beast. In some styles of music, like the real djent-y stuff, people kind of want that effect, but in others, they aren't worth the hassle.
  8. Go to Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo and on page 2, make sure MIDI PC Send is set to off. That will make it so the Helix doesn't send the default MIDI PC associated with each preset on the Helix whenever you load that preset.
  9. The CC for bypass for the Mobius is CC#102. A value of 0 is bypass, and a value of 127 is engage.
  10. No, it's not possible... If you think about what a snapshot is - a certain arrangement of bypass states and parameter values of the blocks that exist within a preset - you can see that only way snapshot copy would ever be a possibility of all would be if your presets contained completely identical blocks in the first place.
  11. Well, again, not just any pedal power supply will work, but yes, the Boss PSA-120S2 will work... It's rated at 500mA. The Line 6 equivalent is the DC-1G: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DC1Power?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIr-205bnY2AIVXLnACh0QCwIHEAQYASABEgIkf_D_BwE I'm not sure why it's not available through Line 6's site at the moment, but it seems to be available a bunch of other places online.
  12. Well, I can tell you for certain that anything that’s going to be announced at NAMM isn’t going to be a replacement or hardware upgrade to the Helix... The Helix is very much the flagship Line 6 product and will be that way for quite a while yet.

    HX Edit

It up under the "Window" tab on the menu bar now.
  14. Well, not any 9V DC power supply... It need to be the right polarity and have sufficient amp rating. It's center negative, and the current draw is around 350mA. If you're looking for a nice inexpensive power supply, the TrueTone One Spot works well with it. If you have a power brick with high current outputs, those will work, too. I have my G70 powered from a port on a Strymon Ojai.
  15. You have to also set the delay time parameter in the delay(s) you want to be controlled by the tap tempo to a note value. On the unit itself, just push the knob under that parameter to switch between millisecond values and note values.
  16. The Kinky Boost that was added in 2.30, which is a model of the Xotic Effects EP Booster, is a very nice clean boost... Although, technically, I suppose it's not entirely "clean", as it's a model of the Echoplex preamp. But, ironically, when guitarists use the term "clean boost", they don't want a pure clean boost...
  17. When you say "going into the front end is awful", if you mean plugging into the guitar input jack on an amp, yes, that will most likely sound awful if you leave the Helix's amp/cab modeling on. If you use the Helix for effects only in that scenario, it works very well. Really, if you want to use the amp and cab modeling, you need a decent FRFR speaker. Ideally, you want something that doesn't color the tone much and something with a lot of clean headroom.
  18. I would venture to guess that you're not setting up something correctly if you think the overdrive or distortion sounds are awful... There are literally hundreds of examples of great distorted tones from the Helix out there. In what way do you think the effects selection is limited?
  19. Well, be thankful you aren't a keyboard player, I guess... I guess I have a couple thoughts. First, I don't think musical instruments are good investments vehicles, unless you're talking about things that are very, very expensive. Even if a guitar appreciates in value, the rate of return is likely not going to be anywhere near what you would get if you actually invested money in something like an index fund. The older I get, the more I come to see the money I spend on my gear as a sunk cost. Sure, I can sell stuff and get something out of it, but generally, I will always be "losing" money on it. But, it brings me joy. As far as the Variax, I bought my JTV69US in 2012, and I have never regretted it. It's been one of my most useful gear purchases. When I amortize my purchase cost over 5-1/2 years, I've probably spent more on coffee from the coffee shop I go to in the morning since then than I did on the guitar... The other thing I would say is that I don't think the older Variax guitars will become totally worthless. You could probably sell it and get something for it even if it is in some sense obsolete. In reality, I think the used guitar market is very soft right now for various reason. Mainly, it's kind of saturated. I see very nice guitars going for a fraction of the original purchase price all the time.
  20. Do you have the latest firmware installed on your Helix?
  21. There is no undo function in the Helix... Generally not a thing that exists in the effects processor world, at least not on the hardware side. The Kemper is one exception I can think of.
  22. Well, yeah, with any software, it's ready when it's ready... But as far the snapshots for Native, they are in testing currently, so barring some huge unforeseen stuff, there shouldn't be major delays.
  23. The "when" is sometime around NAMM (which starts two weeks from tomorrow)...
