So are you saying you want to have two delays? You can actually use multiple delay blocks if you want. Or you can use the Scale parameter in the delay block. The Scale parameter introduces a secondary that’s scaled off the time of the first one. So if you have the first delay set for quarter notes, setting the scale to 75 will give you a secondary dotted eighth delay.

That little exclamation point icon beside the Helix in the Device Manager indicates that the drivers are missing. Try re-installing HX Edit to see if you can get the drivers to install again.

You have the Momentary option selected for the footswitch with the chorus assigned to it. That’s found on the Bypass Assign page. Set it to Latching, and it will act like a typical stomp switch.

Fender Jaguar sound
phil_m replied to fruijter7777's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I’m sure it can be done. I don’t think a Jaguar sounds that much different than a Strat, really. In real life, the real guitars feel quite different, as the Jaguar is a short scale guitar, but the single coil Jaguar pickups are very close to Strat pickups. -
Hmm… This sounds really cool, and I’m not sure I followed everything you’re doing exactly, but I’m pretty sure you’re probably the only one in the world doing it. But I’m glad you found something that works for you for now even if it’s not perfect.

Yes. Well, either tap the BPM or set it manually in the Global Settings menu. You tap quarter notes for the BPM you want, and if you have dotted eighth notes selected, the delay will be set accordingly for you. If the millisecond value of a dotted eighth note day is 440ms, that means the tempo you’d need to tap in is about 102 BPM.

Do you have the FX loop blocks in your preset? It also doesn’t sound like you have things connected quite right. The tip connection from the send jack is the left FX Send, so if you’re sending that to your amp’s input, you should have a cable coming back into the XL’s left FX Return from your amp’s effects send. The ring connection from the XL’s send jack is right FX Send, so that sounds correct. But like I said, you need to have both FX loop blocks in your preset. Also make sure the the Return Type parameter under Global Settings>Ins/Out is set to Return.

You can create MIDI assignments on the FBV3 controller and have those control different things in your plug-ins, but none of that is automatic. You’ll need to see how to go about it for each one. It’s not necessarily complicated, but if you haven’t used MIDI before, there’s going to be a learning curve.

If you sum the signal coming from the dual cab block, it will be about 3dB louder than a single cab block, so perhaps some of what you're hearing is simply the volume change. You can account for that boost by lowering the level of each block.

My first piece of advice would be to not spend too much time worrying about the factory presets or even trying to download presets at first. I’d start simple and build from there. Try loading one of the bass amp or preamp models you like and build from there. Basically, your playback system is going to have a big impact on the tone, and the easiest way to account for that is just to build presets around it from the start.

What you’re wanting to do is exactly what those commands are for. The commands are assigned to switches in Stomp Mode, so, yeah, you can have some switches assigned to blocks, some assigned to snapshots and some assigned to presets.
-
No. The factory reset just loads the factory settings for whatever firmware you’re currently running.
-
It just means the preset has been changed from its saved state. Expression pedal position is saved with the preset, so that’s why it shows up when you move the expression pedal.
-
Most likely never. Monkey is a 32-bit app, and isn’t really used for the newer products, so I just don’t see them updating it.
-
There are three expression controllers - EXP1, 2 and 3. If you plug a pedal into the EXP2 jack, the onboard pedal just functions as EXP1. It doesn’t toggle between EXP1 and 2 any longer. If you have a MIDI controller with expression pedal inputs, you can add as many expression pedals as you want, really. As you can assign MIDI CCs to control parameters, and you could have those pedals set up to control those CCs.

What DAW are you using?
-
Are you certain you're running the latest firmware? I did run across a bug that was somewhat similar to this during one of the beta periods, but it was taken care of with the update. As mentioned, doing a reset and a restore from backup is always a good idea, especially if you haven't been doing it after updating.

With a line level signal, it’s probably not possible to actually damage the input even if you’re clipping it for an extended period of time. But it will definitely sound bad if you’re clipping it. I really don’t understand your comment about the H9 in your first post, though. It seems to me that if you’re not hearing the clipping, you’re probably OK. You might be clipping some transients, and you don’t always hear that. I don’t think you’d really damage the H9’s input of you’re not hearing or clipping. It would probably take a really hot signal way above the clipping threshold to actually damage anything.
-
That won’t damage the Helix. 10V works out to +20dBV, and the Helix’s input is like +19dBV before clipping, I believe (with the input pad on). So you may need to be careful about the level of the preamp signal on your amp. But +20dBV is a very hot signal.
-
No way to do that, at least not directly. Something like the MIDI Solutios Event Processor (Plus) could map MIDI notes to a MIDI CC, and that could in turn control those parameters. But the Helix itself doesn’t respond to MIDI note messages.

Yes, you should be able to recall presets with a MIDI PC message. It’s easy to set up on the Helix. You’ll just have to know what messages are associated with the Triton presets you want to use.

Whats going on with G70/G75 in Europe?
phil_m replied to AlexiDime's topic in Relay Digital Wireless
As far as I know the G70/G75 series were dinged with some sort of wireless transmission violation by the EU’s version of the FCC. At one point they had talked about redesigning them, but perhaps they just decided to scrap the project because of projected sales not making the numbers work or something. I’ve not seen any official announcement about them. So there’s no safety issue or anything like that. -
You can control the string pitch parameter(s) with an expression pedal, but as mentioned above they don’t bend. The pitches are fixed steps. This is just a limitation of how the Variax handles the pitch shifting.
