It’s kind of ironic that you call the Helix Control a smart contolller… It actually is just a “dumb” controller. It’s just a remote, and for the Rack and the Control, it’s almost like Line 6 just physically separated then footswitches and scribble strips from the brains. I don’t think it would ever be feasible to have multiple Controls run from one Rack based on what I know about how that connection works. The one thing you could do is use a MIDI controller as the remote controller and then just have the player have the Control on stage. Any changes made from the MIDI controller would then be reflected on the Control. It’s just that the reverse wouldn’t be true. You also asked about MIDI automation, and, yes, that’s completely doable. I’ve seen a bunch of posts from people using that in their live setups with the Helix.

If you only have the left XLR out connected, the signal from both XLR out will be summed to mono to that XLR out. Once you plug something into the right XLR out, the panning will work accordingly.

The AMPLIFi app only sees music in the Music app library, I believe. You don’t have to be a paid subscriber to Apple Music, but you have to at least have your files in its library.

I wouldn’t bother with trying to save the wah bypass state in each snapshot. What I’d do is disable snapshot bypass for the wah block. This way that block’s bypass state won’t be recalled by snapshots, and it will stay however it is when you change snapshots. To disable snapshot bypass, navigate to the wah block, press the Action button and set the Snapshot Bypass setting to Off.

Well, you should install the latest firmware on your LT, and after the installation is complete, do a factory reset and then do a restore from backup. One thing I’m a little unclear on, though, is what you mean by “no snapshots”. Every preset always has 8 snapshots, regardless if you’re using them or not. Are you just not seeing the names?

Typically, these sort of issues are caused by using an older version of HX Edit with a newer firmware version. So that would be the first thing I’d check. Also, you should probably update to the latest firmware version (3.11), while you’re at it.

Flextone 2 software needed!
phil_m replied to smkheyne's topic in Flextone I / II / III / Duoverb / HD147
Line 6 Edit is a 32-bit application, and after Catalina, MacOS will no longer run 32-bit software. -
I can assure you that it doesn’t freeze every time for everyone. I just finished mixing a huge project where I had like a dozen or so instances of Native, and it worked fine the entire time. It would be helpful if you gave some more information. Telling us what type of machine and what operating system are you using, and what DAWs have you tried would be a start.

The Bitcrusher has a built-in noise gate, so those settings control the way the gate responds. Open is the level at which is opens up (lets signal through), and Close is when it shuts again. Hold and Decay have to do with how the signal dies out.

Native runs fine on Reaper on my M1 Mac Mini. Prior to the 3.11 update, the graphics were really slow, but now that seems to be cleared up. So I’m not sure what’s different with Reaper on the Macs (other than perhaps I am using the VST3 version of Native). Now if only Izotope would release M1 compatible versions of their stuff, I’d be about all set.

Wow… Yeah, that looks fried. Hard to say what caused it. It could have just been a weak solder joint that eventually failed, or perhaps one of those components just failed. Was the Helix above something that was generating a lot of heat? That even seems unlikely though.

Well, there hasn’t been an update for the 500X since 2015 and I think the last (and only) update for the DT25 came out in 2012 or something like that… I think it’s pretty safe to say there isn’t really a future roadmap. I mean, the DT25 can be connected and controlled through L6 Link by the Helix, so that’s an option.

Dude... I didn't think it was a ridiculous question at all... Certainly not one that warranted this cranky of a response.

I've not heard of from any of the Line 6 folks of any specific issues, but it wouldn't surprise me if they start getting pinched by later delivery dates for the stuff they need. The thing with waiting for something that's projected to come in is that there's a very good chance that the date could slip out further. So, personally, I'd probably go for the one you know you can get now.

Well, I wouldn’t really say the effects have loops like that (but I understand why you’re using that terminology), but, yes, you can do this sort of thing using the parallel path feature. For instance, you can put a delay block in the parallel path and set its Mix parameter to 100. Any effects you have after the delay block will only affect the repeats. You’d control the mix going to this parallel path with the Level parameter at the Split block (or you could adjust it using the Level parameter in the delay block as well).

Currently, it’s not possible. It will probably be added sooner or later (hopefully sooner) with a firmware update.

Having the looper not be a fixed block was actually the top request on the Line 6 IdeaScale site for a long time, if I remember correctly. But, no, I don’t think that will happen. For one thing, the looper block itself uses some amount of DSP - not a ton - but enough to break some presets of it were added to every preset across the board.

There are no model packs for the Helix or the POD Go.

Can i use a pod go into an amp and a frfr at the same time?
phil_m replied to BecomingEthereal's topic in POD Go
The Amp Out will be split off after the amp block but before the cab block (assuming you have it set that way in the Global Settings), so yes, it’s kind of assuming you’d be plugging into an effects return. If you want to go into the front of an amp, you could use the PG’s effects send. You just have to put the effects loop in front of the amp block. If you set the Mix parameter to 50, the signal will flow through to the amp block in the chain, and it will split off into the send jack. Of course any other effects you have after the amp and cab blocks won’t be included in this signal. -
Do you have the input pad turned on in the Global Settings menu? If you’re clipping the input, that’s really the only thing you can do besides dealing with the source (the guitar). If the signal from your pickups is really hot, and they’re not overly hot pickups, it probably means that you need to lower them a little.

Well, the 59 has a set neck and the 700 has a bolt-on, so I'm going to say no...

I probably should have been a little more clear. If you connect the 500X to the DT with an L6 Link cable, you can use the preamp models on the 500X, and then use the actual tube power amp section from the DT. This is kind of the whole point of the HD/DT integration. You can change the voicing and topology of the DT directly from the 500X, and this information become part of the 500X preset. So that’s why I was saying there’s no advantage to using the amp (really preamp) models on the DT.
-
Yep... Just click on the Bypass/Controller Assign tab. You'll see all the control and bypass assignments in a list in the middle panel on the bottom part of the screen.
-
It’s possible, but why? The amp models in the DT are the same as what’s in the DT. I guess I’m assuming you’re using L6 Link. If you’re not using L6 Link, you can just treat the DT like any other amp connect via 4 cable method. You’d just need to bypass the amp/cab block in the HD500X.

Nope… The HX Edit app actually contains Line 6 Updater, so ideally, you should never really have to run Updater on its own. The HX Edit installation package will install HX Edit, Line 6 Updater, and all the drivers. So that’s the only thing you need to manually download from the Line 6 site. The update process did change awhile ago, but Line 6 Updater was never the first thing you needed to download.
