No, you're misunderstanding how the speaker modeling on the Powercab works compared to the cab/mic modeling on the Helix. The speaker modeling on the Powercab is letting you change the way the speaker sounds in the physical cab of the Powercab. It's like having the ability to swap speakers. There is mic modeling applied if you use the PC+'s XLR out, but without that, there's no mic modeling. With the cab block in the Helix, it's modeling a specific mic in front of a specific speaker in a specific cab. So FRFR mode on the Powercab is amplifying the sound of a mic'ed cabinet. In that case, the sound is similar to what you'd hear coming from a PA speaker if you mic'ed an amp or plugged your Helix in direct. The diagrams in the PC+ manual sum it up pretty well:

Retailers should be getting their first shipments in April, yes. It appears that all of the units in those shipments are already spoken for in the way of pre-orders, though.

If you're trying to upgrade to 2.82 from a pre-2.80 firmware, seeing that warning is part of the update process. You should see a dialog box where you can press OK for the update to proceed. If you're not seeing that box, try shutting down Line 6 Updater, and try doing the update again. It should go through. You may want to try a different USB port and/or USB cable if possible.

The English version of the POD Go manual is now available for download: https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a41cde35e68fab84d2fe/application/pdf/POD Go 1.10 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Other languages will be released closer to the time when the unit starts shipping.

How can i make other metal amps sound like the Badonk?
phil_m replied to willyjacksonjs22's topic in Helix
I don't think it's uncommon for people to use overdrives or especially EQs with real amps to get the sort of metal tones you hear on recordings. As mentioned above, the cab and IR are a huge variable, too. The tones you hear on albums are probably EQ'ed and sculpted a lot more than you think. -

This is a weird post... How do you make vanilla ice cream taste like chocolate ice cream? If you succeed in doing that, haven't you just made chocolate ice cream? -
If you have Input Z setting in the Input Block set to Auto, the input impedance will change to match whatever the input impedance of the pedal modeled in the first block is. For most effects, this is still 1 Mohm, so it doesn’t make a difference. But for some effects, it’s lower. When this happens, the lower impedance setting will stay active whether the first block is bypassed or not. I suspect this is what the Facebook post was talking about.

The LT and the Stomp come with completely different factory presets. You should be able to load any factory preset from the Stomp onto the LT, though.

Behringer owns TC Electronic, and TC is pretty much a shell of what they used to be. And adding additional processing capability is nowhere near as easy as making it sound. For one thing, the type of processors that the Helix uses haven't double in power since the release of the Helix. The amount of processing capability available in the comparable SHARC chip now might be like 20% more. As far as RAM, I don't think that's really even an issue. Also, if case you haven't noticed, production costs keep on increasing, not decreasing. Certainly the trade war between China and the US isn't helping things, but even beyond that, it's not like it would cheaper to make the Helix now than it was 5 years ago.

The Helix's loops add about 1.5ms of latency... Of course, the Digitech pedals themselves are digital, so there's latency for those as well. I personally didn't notice the additional latency with the Freqout in the loop, but everything is cumulative. If you have other latency-adding things in the chain, it all adds up.
-
When I had the Freqout, I had it in the Helix's loop, and I didn't find it overly noisy. But the amount of noise you get from the loops is directly related to what you have after the loops in the signal chain. Are you using a high gain amp model?

I can assure you it has nothing to do with the Stomp itself. It's a setting in your DAW somewhere. The Stomp and GSP are using different ASIO drivers, so the fact that they're behaving differently is largely irrelevant. You just need to make sure you have the settings for your project set to the correct sample rate.
-
He's talking about the Helix, not the HX Effects or Stomp. The Helix needs 100-240V AC.
-
The Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ has a convenience outlet that you could plug the Helix into, but beyond that, no, you wouldn't be able to power the Helix from a power brick like that. The Helix needs between 100V and 240V to operate. You could use an IEC splitter cable like this to feed the power supply and the Helix. I did this with my Helix and the Strymon Ojai for awhile.

There actually hasn't been an official announcement as far as a press release or anything like that regarding the 2.9 firmware. They gave a presentation at the Helix User Group party at NAMM and went through it, but they went to great pains to make clear that it wasn't an official announcement, per se. It's all subject to change (although 2.9 is pretty much exactly what was discussed at the party). But at that party, they didn't allow video, photos, or any other sort of recording. They allowed people to share details after the fact... I suppose it's somewhat of moot point, but I think they're trying to tread the line between sharing information and having people nag them over stuff.

Line 6 only updates the manuals for the hardware devices for major updates (3.0 will be the next one). But they update the manual for software SKUs - HX Edit and Helix Native - for each update. So the manual for Helix Native has the most up-to-date list: https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f1642f5d8d432755547/application/pdf/Helix Native Pilot's Guide - English .pdf

I think the easiest thing to do is to create 4CM-specific presets and have them set up the way you need them, and not try to make the same presets work for different connection scenarios.
-
Did you create a backup and restore from backup after doing the upgrade? If you didn't the Global Settings will reset to their default settings, so it could be something related to that. There really shouldn't be any changes in the sound of anything when you update.
-
Sounds like you're recording and playing back at different sample rates. What DAW are you using?
-
Select the Switches menu. The options you see there at first are page 1. The > switch is under the ACTION key.
-
It’s under Global Settings>Switches, but you have to hit the > switch to go to Page 2 of that menu. There you’ll see the Snapshot Mode setting.
-
I would double check. There’s also a Preset Mode parameter that has the same settings (Latching and Momentary) as options. Make sure you’re looking at the one for Snapshots.
-
Go to Global Settings>Switches>Snpsht Mode and set it to Latching if you want the snapshots to remain up after you select one. They're flashing because it's set to Momentary. The update resets the Global Settings to their default, so if you didn’t restore from backup after doing the update, that’s why this setting would have changed.

Do I have a defective HX Effects? Amp channel switching problem
phil_m replied to revolver1010's topic in Helix
Do you have the EXT AMP commands assigned to footswitches in the HX Effects, or are you just trying to use Instant Commands? -
If you have a pedal with an expression pedal input, you can connect that to the Helix’s CV out to control that pedal (in most cases).
