  1. Uh? Why the Aux In/Out? The Aeros manual says the Aux is for a second instrument input. Surely the way to do this is FX Loop 1/2 block from the Stomp XL to the Aeros L and R In then L/R Out back to the Stomp? If I use my Ditto x4, Boss RC30 Loop Station, or even the mucho cheapo Ammoon Stereo Looper, I patch them in on the FX Loop Block and 4 cables making sure that Send/Returns are on Line level. It just works, no "signal loss" or "tone suck". Hope this helps/makes sense.
  2. Hi, You didn't say what your computer operating system is, but judging from the screen grab it's Windows. You also didn't say if this copy of Helix Native is the current version 3.11. Anyhow, I use a Logic Pro X on a Mac, plus I also have GarageBand, Reaper, Studio One, ProTools etc, to run trouble shooting tests. In the last hour, I have updated the 64 bit Mac version of Reason to the latest edition and HX Native 3.11 works just as expected. I have seen many error codes reported on this forum that usually seem to indicate a corrupt preset as the thing causing the fault. With this though, the screenshot is quite specific when it says "File or directory not found. I would guess that might indicate the something has messed up the preferences file for the plug in. You could try simply trashing the preferences file first. You could try to open the presets from Native in HX Edit, that may show if any are corrupt or damaged. Worth a shot. Also, you say that when you "click on a blank preset" the error screen pops up. Now by looking at your screen grab, it looks like Setlist 1, which is usually the factory setlist, is not showing any presets at all, but it is at the top of the screen showing "US Double Nrm". Even stranger is that it looks as if you had clicked on preset 01C in the left column, which in the latest version is a Brit Plexi Jump, and slot 02A is the US Double Nrm. It appears something is totally messed up. On the hardware Helix units, the blank "New Preset" showing in a setlist usually indicates the it has failed to rebuild the presets to be compatible with the latest firmware version and you can force the hardware into the rebuild procedure. In this case, and if it's possible, then you could try clicking on the little gear wheel icon in the lower left corner to bring up the option to "Restore Factory Settings" which might fix it. Before trying that, please ensure that you have made backup copies of all your own custom presets. Then try the "Restore" If this doesn't solve the issue, the best action to take is to totally strip out HX Native, reboot your computer and then re-install the latest version 3.11. Other than that your only other option is to contact Customer Support and raise a ticket with them to make them aware of the problem. Hoe this helps/makes sense
  3. Oh, dear - here we go again - yet another misunderstanding of how things work. The file attachment limit for forum users is just under 5MB (4.88MB). Every upload that you make will reduce that allocation, until you delete something to reclaim the space. Click on your avatar in the top right hand corner of the page and from the drop down menu select “My Attachments”. This will take you to the page where you can manage your stuff. You know, all those videos and screen shots you have uploaded in the last couple of weeks since arriving here. In fact the screen shot that you attached to this latest post has more than likely swallowed that last 0.03MB, that you thought you had left. Oops! Tip: As noted by “rvroberts” in the post above. It’s usually wiser to post a link to an external video/photo hosting service. Hope this helps/makes sense.
Hello See page 48 of the HX Effects 3.0 Owner's Manual - Global Settings. It mentions "Set appropriate levels" and also covers how to "Reset all global settings" which may help. Also check that it's not something crazy, like a volume pedal block at zero. You didn't mention what version of firmware is loaded on your drive. It may be advisable to update to the latest firmware version v.3.11. Hope this helps / makes sense.
  5. Look at the date of the post - October 2018.
  6. Hi, Don’t Panic - It is very rare that a glitch in the firmware will actually turn your device into an paperweight. I will assume that you have read through and tried all the suggestions posted here, but let’s just give this one more go around. I keep saying that I will stop doing this, but here we go again. Once more from the top! You don’t mention what your computer and OS are, but I will guess Windows plus the routine should be the same for Mac. Also you don’t say what version firmware you had installed and or if you have updated firmware previously with success. Firstly go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select HX Stomp. Leave the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" menu item as it is, now select your Windows system or Mac OSX from under the "-ALL OS-" tab, then click “GO”. On the next page you will find the first 3 items you will need. The Line 6 Updater v. 1.23, along with HX Edit 3.11 for your HX Stomp and then you will need the Firmware 3.11.0 Flash Memory. Download all these items to your computer and note where they are. Then: Remove all previously installed Line 6 software from your computer especially the Windows drivers and then restart your computer. Make sure to turn off the power to your HX Stomp. Unplug the USB cable from the computer and the Stomp. Power up the Stomp while holding down “PAGE >”. This puts the hardware into “Safe Boot”- Update mode. (NOTE: Should doing this give you a completely blank screen, you should still be able to re-install the firmware again.) Leave the HX Stomp powered up. Now you can install the latest HX Edit v. 3.11 (with all the drivers) Reconnect the USB cable to the Stomp and your computer - Do not use a Hub. (Some USB ports on the front of a PC can act as a hub, so use one on the back). Ensure that HX Edit is closed and also shutdown any other background tasks, screen savers etc., also disconnect from any internet services. You don’t want anything to interfere with this installation routine. Now, find and launch the Line 6 Updater Utility and select "Offline Mode". Your HX Stomp and current firmware version should now show up in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - point it at the Flash Memory file you downloaded and let it get on with the update. When it completes your HX Stomp should restart and go through rebuilding the presets after which, you can launch the new HX Edit v.3.11 software and you should be good to go. No guarantee is given or implied - you do so at your own risk. If this fails, contact Line 6 Customer Support and raise a ticket. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Hi, This is a big part of owning any of the Helix units. It’s not simply for editing presets, as you have already discovered, that can be done on the hardware. The BIG PROBLEM for you is the fact that without access to a computer, you simply cannot make backup copies of the stuff you have created in the XL, or perform any firmware updates which are full of new features and bug fixes. If you had a computer, in this situation it would be quite straight forward to have you perform a factory reset on your Stomp XL. Doing a reset without having a backup of your presets could result in losing everything. At the moment you only have the option to revert your hardware back to box fresh by wiping it, but if anything does go really badly wrong… well. As noted by “rd2rk” in the post above, the Helix is a computer, and you need another computer to communicate with it to fix issues such a this. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. Oh dear, you're not having much success with this stuff. Welcome to the great unpredictability of what happens when you load a preset created by someone else. As noted in the other posts - trash the troublesome preset, reset your hardware and start with a clean slate. If it doesn't work contact Customer Support - then, please let us know what was wrong this time. I mention this because the time you had an issue with the foot controller capacitive touch, you had people jumping through hoops trying to help. In the end it turned out to be "user error". Actually there was nothing wrong with the foot switches, you just didn't know what you were doing and had it in the wrong mode. Jeeziz Hope this helps/makes sense
  9. Hi, That sort of thing usually indicates a glitch in the update installation, possibly failing to reset and or rebuild preset after the update. The firmware doesn’t load the new factory presets by default - you have the option to load them. This is from the. Release Notes on v.3.1.1 Anything else I should know? Yes. We STRONGLY recommend performing a factory reset AFTER UPDATING your Helix/HX firmware to 3.11 and THEN RESTORING YOUR BACKUP. (Backing up is part of the update process). Here's how to perform a factory reset. IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP FIRST, AS A FACTORY RESET WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Helix Floor/LT: While holding footswitches 9 & 10 (bottom row, 2 middle switches), turn on Helix Floor/LT Helix Rack: While holding knobs 5 & 6 (2 furthest right knobs below the screen), turn on Helix Rack HX Effects: While holding footswitches 6 & TAP (2 farthest right switches on the bottom row), turn on HX Effects HX Stomp: While holding footswitches 2 & 3, turn on HX Stomp HX Stomp XL: While holding footswitches C & D, turn on HX Stomp This is from v.3.0 regarding resetting Factory Presets. METHOD ONE: Resetting Factory Presets WARNING! Restoring factory presets will completely overwrite your own, so make sure they're backed up first! Make sure you've backed up your presets and turn off Helix/HX. Perform the following procedure: Helix Floor/LT: While holding footswitches 7 and 8 (two leftmost switches on the bottom row), turn on Helix Floor/LT. Wait for "Will restore stock Presets and Setlsts..." to appear and let go Helix Rack/Control: While holding knobs 3 and 4 (two middle knobs below the screen), turn on Helix Rack. Wait for "Will restore stock Presets and Setlsts..." to appear and let go Helix Native: Click the gear icon in the lower left corner, select the Presets/IRs tab, and click "Restore Factory Setlists" HX Effects: While holding footswitches 5 and 6 (two middle switches on the bottom row), turn on HX Effects. Wait for "Will reset Presets..." to appear and let go HX Stomp: While holding footswitches 1 and 2, turn on HX Effects. Wait for "Will reset Presets..." to appear and let go Forum user “Malhavok” (Ben Vesco) has been keeping a record of every change to the factory presets, from version 1.06.5 right up to 2.80. Find the info here - some are also available able as downloads. http://benvesco.com/store/line-6-helix/ Hope this helps/makes sense.

Will you ever be happy, or are you simply determined to be constantly miserable?
  11. Yep, info on pages 7 & 50 - HX Stomp 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev C - English.
  12. Hi, Sadly I’m not a HXFX owner and not able to check this out. Although this has already been done by “codamedia”, when it was tested in both in Helix Native and a single path in a Helix. Also, I find it rather confusing that you keep mentioning you need this to work on a HXFX box, but you actually managed to “freeze” a Helix by adding an amp and cab block. I’m a Helix floor (and Native) user and have been since late 2016, and in all that time I have never managed to get the thing to “tilt” - ever - and I have put some pretty oddball patches into it. I have had it hooked up to external rack digital delays, Yamaha SPX 90, Ditto x4 and Boss RC30 loopers, Zoom pedals and even a put Line 6 POD HD500 in the FX loop just for sh!t ‘n’ giggles. I’m still waiting for it to fall over. Forum contributor, “Malhavok” (Ben Vesco) has done his own tests of DSP usage, and has been publishing the lists for quite some time. Find the latest updates here: https://benvesco.com/store/helix-dsp-allocations/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  13. Hi, As you might expect, all the parameter functions for the Send/Return blocks are described in the HX Effects 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev B English (Send/Return pages 25 and 26) Here’s what it says regarding the “Mix” parameter for a Return: “Blends the Return signal vs. the dry signal passed through the Return block. When set to 0%, the path bypasses the Return completely. When set to 100%, the entire signal is fed from the Return, and no dry thru signal is heard.” Here’s what it says regarding the “Mix” parameter for an FX Loop: ”Blends the FX loop signal vs. the dry signal passed through the FX Loop block. When set to 0%, the path bypasses the FX loop completely. When set to 100%, the entire path is fed through the FX loop, and no dry thru signal is heard. (This means that if you don’t currently have your external gear connected to the Send & Return jacks, you won’t hear any output signal unless you bypass the FX Loop block!)” Manuals are full of interesting facts like that. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi, This Is the wrong place to post a features request - nobody from Line 6 will see it in here. This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by anyone from Line 6, who maybe able to make it happen: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. You should use this thread to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Good to know that you are back up and running. Strange to have an identical board failure, that’s not something that I have heard of other than your original situation. I seriously hope the repair bill was waived in your favour. Enjoy your “new” Helix.
  16. When asking for assistance on here, it’s a big help if we know exactly what computer, operating system, DAW and version number of Helix Native that you’re using. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. I'm almost sure that my Helix only has 12 foot switches. Yep - just looked down, and there they are. 6 on top and 6 below! I guess you actually mean 4 Stomp and 4 Snaps = 8 total. If you want to use the command centre to take advantage of what is normally the "UP" and "DOWN" switches then you need to look at this: Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. Hi, If you have to use a USB mic, then you could try creating an “aggregate” device in the Audio/MIDI Setup App. That way you can have the Helix and the Mic working as a single audio interface. Although, it depends how complex your Helix Presets are (how many blocks), because I would use a phantom powered XLR condenser mic into a second path on the Helix and just use that. See link: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT202000 Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. Hi, In this situation, possibly the best thing to do is to ask them. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  20. I wondered about that, but the thread title does say “reset”. Therefore... Oh, no... I forgot to stick in the “get out of jail free” disclaimer - “No guarantees are given or implied, you do this at your own risk. If it doesn’t work, raise a ticket with Customer Support.” I may shorten that to - “be careful what you ask for”.
  21. Hi Rich, It’s a big help to say what hardware you want to reset - but here ya go - all of them. 22. Hi Ken, Over on TGP, a couple of people commented on this. It seems that the way to go is, as you have noted - just tick “Use”. One user raised a ticket with support about the Plug-in validation, and failing to load - got this reply: ”UPDATE: I was just informed by L6/YGG support that 3.11 does not add compatibility for Apple Silicon hardware (M1). So it is kind of "more compatible" with Big Sur, but M1 hardware is still kind of excluded. Now I am confused.” Although, other people are running HX Native on M1 boxes without issue, as you have found. Have fun.
  23. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. See page 53 - HX Stomp 3.0 Owner’s Manual - One Expression Pedal (there is even a diagram)
