  1. Hi again, Good to know that you have got the Snapshots working. I use Logic Pro X, but I have a whole bunch of other DAWs on my Mac for trouble shooting stuff with HX Native, including Studio One, although I have only scratched the surface of using it. Anyhow, this is a very old video about using Helix Native automation in a DAW. You would need to read up about how this stuff would be applied in Studio One. Hope this helps.
  2. Hi, You can find the answer to this, and much more, on pages 36 - 38, “Working with Snapshots” - Helix Native Pilot’s Guide. Read, study, and inwardly digest. It’s free - and built into HX Native - simply click on the Question Mark Icon in the lower left corner of plug-in window, between the Gear Icon and your Account Status. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  3. Hi Dennis, Welcome to the land that time forgot. Or, rather, the forum that is least visited among the Helix community. You should be fine with the gear you have, so jump in and try things out, and see how you get on. Have fun with your new toys. Any issues you know you can find a couple of users here.
  4. Yes, Global Settings > Footswitches > knob 3 > 10 Footswitches Mode. Page 66 Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev E - English. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. Well - it certainly clears it up for me. I got in the studio and loaded up the 2 two presets that you created for the OP, and it's immediately obvious that what you have done is correct. Of course I don't have his 6505 and load box , but the switching to outboard functions just as expected, and it makes even more sense on my Helix floor because the scribble strips indicate the switching between the loops. Two footswitches are lit up, first one shows MULTIPLE (2) switching between the Helix Pre-Amp and the 1st FX loop, then the second is for the Simple Delay on the second path. The thing that threw me was using that online viewer for the preset - it's very basic and doesn't really show whats happening. Won't be using that again! I cannot see why he thinks that there might be any any distortion happening after the delay and reverb. File under general weirdness/user error. ;-)
  6. Hi, I would guess that in the words of the Captain: “What we've got here is failure to communicate.”. I just had a quick look at the “plumbing” and it could be that brother “heikobear” hasn’t been quite clear enough in explaining that his 6505 and the load box should be regarded as one single thing - his dirt box distortion unit. That should be a single Send/Return which he can place other noise making stuff or compressor in front of, then the distorted load box signal can be returned to the HXS to have delays or ‘verbs added before being spit out to the power amp. I’m not in the studio until later today, but I have just looked at your examples with the online preset viewer, https://dbagchee.github.io/helix-preset-viewer/ I guess that what is not quite right in the patch is the 2nd Loop for the load box is possibly not required, and the OP is interpreting that as an extra layer of distortion. Maybe just kill the second S/R Loop block. I hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. That’s great to know that you managed to resurrect your box of tricks. Update failures are rarely terminal, but they sure do scare the hell out of many, many users. ;-)
  8. If this sample audio files recorded with only your HX Stomp and Amp, I'm going to guess that you captured the audio on your phone, which is fine, but can you please advise what amp you're using. There is apparently a huge SciFi reverb (as if in a large tunnel or warehouse) which kicks in, when I assume you are switching the bypass. Is the reverb in your amp? I ask because the rest of this thread seems to be discussing noise via the USB while recording. I'm with "rd2rk" on this one - I have no idea what is causing that. I have never had any issues with noise while using my Helix floor for recording into Logic Pro X. Suffice to say, if I was encountering that sort of racket every time I turned it on, it would have been thrown on the bench for a serious examination by the technicians.
  9. Thanks for the info - it will be very helpful to other users who are having this problem.
  10. I really don’t understand what’s happening - there is no way this should happen. For example, one of my acoustic guitars is fitted with a Fishman Blend (mic and humbucker). If the signals are panned left and right then a whole bunch of different stuff can be added to each of the paths, and simply switching off one block doesn’t interfere with anything else involved. I have no idea what you are doing to cause this, but it sure is odd. As previously noted/requested a preset example to check would probably help solve this. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. True / false? Who knows? But, it does seem as if someone has bought into the Helix idea of modelling without doing any research whatsoever. Although, he says that he owns a Helix floor and a Stomp - yet only one registered product in the profile. Why would anyone not know how many setlists and preset slots are available in the unit, then think that all the available slots are filled up with factory presets. Plus also go an buy a bunch of third party presets and then doubt that they would sound right, because the firmware had been updated since they were made. I think this fish is more than a little bit off.
  12. I have MBritt Helix Preset Pack 1 and just loaded them into the Setlist "USER 2" and they occupy slots 01A (MB 13 Cleanish) through to 08D (MB Wanged). The Impulse Response files for each preset are loaded into the first 30 IR Slots. All the info for loading the IRs is supplied in the pdf documentation that ships with the preset pack. You also say that you "do not want to be tethered to a computer". Mmm... well if you want to load third party preset packs, you have to be connected to a computer. HX Edit is the software librarian and editor for all the HX family of products, so if you really want to organise, and edit your presets you will need to become familiar with how it works. You ask - "Given I bought the M Britt packs prior to the latest Helix Floor firmware, I am beginning to wonder about how sensible it was to buy the M Britt packs, as the Helix Floor firmware changes some of the core tones. True / false?" Why would you think that? If anything in the Helix is modified in the firmware it's usually to make improvements. I cannot comprehend why you think that Line 6 would change the firmware to make some thing sound worse. I have been using the MBritt pack regularly since early 2018 and have never had any issues - they are preset patches, they just work like any other - it's simply computer code. Also you comment - It seems like the latest Helix Floor firmware / factory patches have been fine tuned for higher output humbucking pickups, and not vintage voiced single coils, at least that's what my ear tells me. True / false? You do realise that the guitar inputs on Helix not only have a built in Noise Gate (which you say that you hate) they also have an additional impedance circuit on them that can affect the "tone and feel" of your pickups. This can be modified to suit the loading from 10k Ohms up to 1M Ohm or Auto setting which can be changed in the Global preferences. (See manual) Therefore, you possibly just need to fire up HX Edit, and back up all the factory presets for safe keeping, then load up your MBritt Pack preset to wherever you think you may need them and away you go. It might be advisable to spend some time with the manual and get used to the various icons used for each type of effect block that are used in the Helix. It makes it easier to navigate what exactly is what. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  13. As you are using Logic Pro X, the Helix Native plug-in should be inside the folder /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Helix Native.component. That is the Library folder at the root level. Not the one in the System folder or the Users folder. Also, if you have managed to get Native to show in the Plug-in Manager as “Incompatible”, then you should have the option to tick “Use”, which should over ride the Manger and allow it to work. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. You and me too, but yes I can confirm that when Helix Native version 3.11 is installed in Logic Pro X, the Plugin Manager does indeed display the version number as 3.1.1 - most odd. It also shows that Native is "successfully validated". I have seen some mention where Native has failed to load because it failed validation, but the option to to click the "Use" tick box was available and this got Native to load as normal. The screen grab above doesn't appear to have that option as it shows "Use' and is not opening. Oh yeah - I'm with "cruision2" on this one - still running High Sierra. In a situation such as this I would be tempted to do a re-install of the plug-in and try this which was recommended by Customer Support for a user over on the HX Native forum re the Code -8201 error. 1. Disable WiFi(even with a wired connection present) 2. Launch your DAW (blank session) 3. Insert Helix Native on a track. The login page should pop up (if it doesn't, check in the lower left hand corner of the plugin). 4. Turn on WiFi. 5. When you sign in, Native gets reauthorized Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Thanks for posting this “fix”. Most helpful for anyone else who may encounter this issue. Thanks again.
  16. Hi, I found this on a website giving 4 reasons NOT to install the update to 11.4, plus 11 reasons you should. Anyhow, the good news is - quote: If you install macOS Big Sur 11.4 on your Mac, and you run into issues, you can downgrade your computer’s software in an attempt to improve its performance. Unlike iOS and iPadOS, the macOS downgrade is always open. If you’re running macOS Big Sur 11.3.1, macOS Big Sur 11.3, or an older version of macOS, and you’re feeling leery about these issues, you might want to wait for more feedback about macOS Big Sur 11.4’s performance or Apple’s next batch of bug fixes for macOS Big Sur-related issues Then there was also this: https://www.gottabemobile.com/macos-big-sur-problems-5-things-to-know/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. Hi, There is a way to do it all from within the HXLT. See the info and diagram on page 70 in the Helix LT 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev C - English. I use the D.I. dry signal so I have the option to re-amp either using my Helix floor, or Helix Native inside Logic Pro X. You can record your processed signal from you LT using USB channels 1&2. The dry signal is recorded from either USB channel 7 or 8. Give it a try before spending money when the option to record the dry audio is already built in. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. Glad you solved it, because your original post was looking for a response from a user who made the comment in August 2019.
  19. Yes, I did make a note of that, but I only listed the ones from the previous 24 hours. I don't see how you managed to offend him, but for some reason he took to deliberately down voting almost every post you have commented on. He has marked down posts you had made long before he joined this forum on May 26th. The guy get's people to jump through hoops to help him with his supposed Helix issues, which have shown to be mainly misunderstanding, more commonly know as "User Error'. He then acts like a troll if anyone points out his grasp of the situation. Some people?
  20. Excuse you - I don't think so. Quite frankly, this is an astonishing, bizarre, weird, and downright insulting comment to make. It seems that, now, you will have discovered another thing about how things work. Every time you use an obscene word in a post it will be substituted with the word "lollipop", which is far more friendly and less offensive. You managed to get 3 "lollipop" hits in a sentence - genius, absolutely brilliant. This is from someone who is telling me that I have "absolutely no idea how to communicate". Hmm... Looks to me that you are "racking up a nice record here of insults", to long time users of this forum. How to make friends and influence people? I noticed that during the past 24 hours you have managed to give 10 "Downvotes" to one contributor in particular, who has been on this forum since 2006. You seem to have peevishly singled him out for a vengeful display of your childishness. Now, for some reason, you have decided to make a personal, and threatening attack on me. Why? Because I pointed you in the right direction to manage your content. I'm baffled because you have previously commented "Very helpful info thank you - much appreciated." when I tried to assist you with the Capacitive foot switch" dilemma. You also gave me a "Upvote" for that and a second one for a response I made in your "Suddenly No Sound" thread. You really do need to get a grip on reality. Furthermore - do you really think you can intimidate me by threatening to post yet more trivial nonsense on social media? Typical lightweight keyboard warrior. In my day whelps like you we're left on windswept frozen mountain tops to perish. You're more to be pitied than scolded. You sign off your puerile post with "lol" - now is that to be regarded as "lots of love", or "laugh out loud", because I nearly broke a rib laughing at this drivel. Therefore, if you think this forum is insulting - you could try dragging your sorry a$$ over to TGP and see how well you fare. Other than that - DILLIGAF!
  21. Well a quick check will show that the SD Card issue has been reported quite frequently right back to August 2020, maybe longer.
  22. I have just got back into the studio and opened HX Edit, and you're correct - the grey track bar are no longer visible in the editor. It doesn't in any way interfere with how it works, purely an aesthetic thing. Until you pointed it out I hadn't noticed, and I am possibly only interested in the numbers and the sound rather than have it look pretty. There is no mention of any changes to the visuals in the Pilot's Guide for HX Edit Rev.Q(v3.01,) and even though areas of the text may have been updated to reflect HX Edit and Firmware update procedures, the screen shots of the HX Edit GUI remain the older style with the grey track bar. Probably didn't think it was worthwhile, or possibly an oversight. Ho hum, that's progress I suppose. Unless, of course, it is an actual "bug" in the editor. As you have submitted a ticket for this maybe you should flag it up in the bug report section of this forum and see if that goes anywhere. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Hi, You’ve been around here long enough to know that when weirdness starts to happen, a factory reset is the first thing to try. Also, you didn’t mention if this is causing problems on the hardware unit. As this seems to be affecting HX Edit try a restart on the computer. (Have you tried turning it off and on again? - as the saying goes). If that doesn’t fix it - go for broke and re-install. You must be familiar with how this works, so let us know when you have fixed it - or raise a ticket with Support. Hope this helps/makes sense.
