Hi, As a software engineer you should realise that when reporting an issue it’s advisable to supply as much information as possible in respect of your computer and operating system in order to give you a proper response. Simply stating, “My computer is a beast and nothing this is not an O/S or user problem”, doesn’t give much to go on. See the reply from “phil_m” in the post above. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Splitting signal to 2 helix cabs - right amount of gain reduction?
datacommando replied to Kovie's topic in Helix
Hi, Oh - Maths and physics. You may want to read this about splitting/merging paths. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Mmm... well all music is time related, always has been, always will be - Beats, note length and seconds or milliseconds, it’s all the same thing presented in different ways. It’s all division of time. As in the example that I gave in my previous post, so to expand on that: 120 BPM gives an 1/8 note delay time of 250ms, and so forth as 1/4 = 500ms and 1/16 = 125ms. 90 BPM gives an 1/8 note delay time of 500ms, and so forth as 1/4 = 1000ms and 1/16 = 250m I have only given examples with whole number divisions, but it works for everything. If the OP knows what BPM his 1/8 note sync is, he can work out what that relates to in milliseconds and enter that instead of the 1/8 division then when he needs to change to 300ms it’s one click of a foot switch, or the sweep of an expression pedal from min to max. Of course manual time manipulation is a whole different thing - time warping. ;-) Hope this helps/makes sense.
-
Yes, do the math! For example @ 100BPM 300ms = 1/8 note. I guess you are changing tempo and that is why you need to change from note division to milliseconds. Check for an online Delay calculator. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, There are stacks of “Acoustic” presets over in the CustomTone section: Here’s a link to one I did way back in 2016, (Acoustic Zep) and it has been used as a stating point for quite a few other users to develop their own modified version. I think I originally used it with my old Variax so you may need to change the input for your guitar. IIRC, it has parametric EQ, studio mic preamp, couple of compressors, a chorus, tape delay and reverb. Add your Sigma IR and eq to taste and refine to suit. It’s somewhere to start experimenting. I have also used this with my Gordon Giltrap Signature Deluxe acoustic fitted with a Fishman Rare Earth Blend system. https://line6.com/customtone/tone/1802464/ Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hey, great work on this... Line 6 staff DO NOT monitor these forums. You are shouting into an empty room. Try posting on TGP in the digital and modelling section, or that huge 30,000+ Helix Family group thing over on FarceBurk - management people from Line 6 are known to post there quite regularly. You might get lucky, and it’s always good to know where you target audience might be when you need ‘em. Hope this helps/makes sense.

HX FX - Is the serial number coded into the device
datacommando replied to modman666's topic in Helix
There is a thread on these forums specifically about issues with product registration. Quote: Q: I'm having trouble registering my unit. How do I get help? A: Make sure you are signed in to your Line 6 account and open a support ticket to send an inquiry to a Line 6 representative. If your unit is missing the sticker with the serial number, please connect the unit to Line 6 Monkey (free download at http://line6.com/software/) and use the ESN number shown on the left side on Monkey. Provide the ESN number when making your inquiry. Hope this helps/makes sense. The complete post in English, French and German, can be found here. -
hx efx Being able to latch switch between 2 Snapshots
datacommando replied to Music4life928's topic in Helix
Well, according to the HX Effects 3.0 Owner’s Manual - page 39 - Controller Assign FS1-FS6 Stepping on a Stomp mode footswitch can toggle between a parameter's min and max values. Selecting FS1-FS6 will display Knob 3 (Switch Type). Turn Knob 3 to select "Moment[ary]" or "Latch[ing]." Momentary means the value will change for as long as you hold the switch. Latching toggles between Min and Max values every time you press the switch. That seems to be the only reference to the terms “Momentary” & “Latching”. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Keep getting error while trying to create backup using HX Edit
datacommando replied to the29band's topic in Helix
Hi, Well done - You just resurrected a thread from 2017. Yet another zombie. When seeking assistance it’s a big help to let others know what your computer and OS are, plus which Helix unit you’re using. Simply saying “Same problem here...” doesn’t give us much to go on. Firstly, check that your version of HX Edit is version is 3.10 and your HX Firmware is v.3.11.0 - if not update them now. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
hx efx Being able to latch switch between 2 Snapshots
datacommando replied to Music4life928's topic in Helix
Hi, When weird stuff starts to happen, and you cannot figure it out, try a factory reset. Make a back up first. HX Effects Button Combination Description Holding FS3 + MODE Will clear all Presets and IRs Holding FS4+FS5 Will reset Global Settings Holding FS5+FS6 Will reset Presets only Holding FS6+TAP Will Perform factory restore (reset, Globals, IRs, and Presets) Holding the right arrow ">" Will put the unit in a fail safe update mode. Use this when the HX Effects is in an un-recoverable state Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, There are no Line staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Why is Line 6 not responding” This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. You should use this thread to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Should be simple enough to patch your Ditto looper into the second send and return on your HX Effects. You will need to decide where you need to place the FX send and return in your signal chain. It will most likely depend on what effects need to be added to the signal before going into the Ditto. I have a Ditto x4 (among others) which I use with my Helix floor. I sometimes have the “amped” guitar with any overdrive effects into the looper and added delay and reverb after the Ditto. There are no strict rules with this stuff - just use whatever works for you. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Here’s a little light reading on the subject of USB Connection that has been lurking on here since 2006. Point 3 states: Use the shortest cable possible. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Just think - if you hadn’t gone out of your way to insult me, and checked out the first response to your plea for assistance, you would have found the answer a lot sooner. Also, since the problem with the SD Card has been a know issue since April 2020, I didn’t bother to mention it in my Spanish response to “herny”, because the solution had been posted previously. Let’s see how long it takes him to figure it out. BTW, deleting your nasty post to me didn’t erase it from the copy I quoted - it’s still there.

Easily done when dealing with complex patching. Glad to know you are up and running.

Hi, This is from the HX Effects FAQ page: “Can I power HX Effects from my DC pedalboard supply? Line 6 only officially supports operation with the included DC-3G. Using any power supply other than that supplied by Line 6 will void your warranty. Line 6 is not responsible for any damage incurred when using HX Effects with any third-party power supplies. HX Effects requires 2A bare minimum of clean DC. It uses a 2.5mm pin where most others use a 2.1mm pin.” Plus there is this thread about power supplies, although it mention that it is for HX Stomp: Not sure if it helps, but there it is.

Really - for someone who has only made two posts here, your attitude could do with some readjustment. If you had taken the time to check, my reply was nothing to do with your original post, but was specifically aimed at the guy from Spain and his rather abusive comment about Line 6 Customer Support. As for you remarks - “Get over yourself, dude. This is a support thread. Either try to help solve the problem or stay out.” Absolute genius - I have been actively involved in these Helix forums for the past 6 years - mostly fixing technical problems for users. If you care to check you will also find that there are many times that an update on a Windows machine has brought the whole house of cards tumbling down. As you have taken time to make such unnecessary vulgar comments I will simply say I hope you get the issue resolved with Reaper. If not - well don’t expect any assistance from me - dude, mkay! I may not be perfect, but at least I’m not you - DILLIGAF

Hi, The best place to search is CustomTone, from the menu at the top of this page. Select Helix from the “ALL PRODUCTS” drop down, and then type “Ambient” in the Search field and click the Icon. You should get something like this: https://line6.com/customtone/search/?submitted=1&family=helix&search_term=Ambient A word of warning regarding other user’s presets - they may not sound quite like the description given. This is because you will not be listening in the exact same environment with the same monitors, or using the same guitar, strings and technique. It can make a BIG difference. Hope this helps/makes sense - good luck.

Hi, Someone asked the same question regarding “missing presets” about a month back. See this thread which also contains a link to a site where you will find a list of factory presets, and which ones changed etc. This saves me typing out all this nonsense once again. Here ya go - Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, again. Not sure about your Ernie Ball EXP pedal, although I have seen that thing about the volume at 100% at halfway then going back down to zero. There are many threads on here covering various expression pedals for use with Helix units. Some are really expensive and some are much less - for example the M-Audio EX-P Universal Controller Pedal. I have 2 for my Helix floor and they work just fine with the polarity reversed in the Global Settings. I'm studio based so I'm not sure how tough they are one the road, but at the price you can have lots of these for the cost of one Line 6 dedicated Mission pedal. Links: https://m-audio.com/products/view/ex-p Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, I realise you are specifically asking about the Helix Rack unit, but this may be of some interest to you regarding the “Command Centre” being used for changing the functions of the Bank buttons. Also, see Helix Rack/ Control 3.0 Owner’s Manual page 14 & 15 for info about Stomp and Preset Mode switching, although the Scribble Strip display changed on the latest firmware update. Hope this helps/makes sense

Not according to the Helix Native v3.0 Pilot’s Guide - Rev N, which states. Internet connection required for license authorization, use of trial version, and for the initial license synchronization of Marketplace premium assets. (The use of premium presets and Impulse Responses purchased from Marketplace requires Helix Native version 1.70, or later) You didn’t mention what computer operating system and DAW you are using, and/or if it worked previously but has now stopped functioning as expected with your WLAN stick.

Not sure what you are getting at because in another thread on here you say: ”Quad Cortex is pretty neat...but where the heck is the exp pedal? It's missing (gasp!). You need to buy an external one. It has twice the processing power of the Helix... Wow!!! But, have I ever felt that I am running out of DSP on a Helix? Never! Does a touch screen make sense? It does if you want your piece of equipment to feel like a giant iPad. Do you like integrated buttons/knobs? They'll probably break faster than dedicated buttons, same for the touch screen. Do you like having an editor on your computer (Helix), or do you prefer to edit things on a giant iPad-looking thing that can connect to WiFi?” Mmm... I’m confused, because your list of ideas for a Mk2 Helix looks quite a lot like a QC clone - that ain’t gonna happen.

I thought it was a couple of vital internal organs, so it's actually less than I expected. ;-)

Hi, I understand that you are very unhappy about this situation, but why is it the fault of Line 6? You say that your Windows operating system has changed and now Native doesn't work.
