Hi, Lots of people are using Helix family hardware and Mac Big Sur OS 11.0 without issue. Have you tried to connect the Helix to your MBP directly, without anything else in line? There are many posts in here about not using a hub to connect. Also check that the Helix shows up in the Audio MIDI setup. In the post above "phil_m" has pointed out that a driver is not really required to use your Helix with the Mac. Essentially you use a USB 2 cable to connect your Helix to the MBP - it's plug and play. If your Helix shows up in the Audio MIDI app then you should be able to connect to the hardware using HX Edit, and when it does it should inform you that there is new firmware available to update your unit. Simply follow the on screen instructions to make a back up and then let it get on with the update. When completed, and the hardware has gone through the rebuilding presets routine, you should restore from the backup file and then restart the Helix by holding down Footswitches 9 & 10 (bottom row, 2 middle switches), while powering up the Helix Floor. While updating do not allow your Mac to go to sleep, or have any other applications running that may interfere with the update. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Rosetta may not be the solution that many users think. There is someone over on the Helix Native pages who has found out. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Really? You said there is a discount deal to be had on a Helix Floor, or a LT unit - those deals usually don’t last long before other people grab a bargain. You could have a “new” Helix now! Or, you could waste your life waiting and wondering if a new model will appear out of the blue. I have had my Helix Floor since 2016 and every time that Line 6 updates the Firmware it’s like having a “new” toy. Hope this helps/makes sense.

This is a stock reply adjust to suit your situation! Don’t Panic - It is very rare that a glitch in the firmware will actually turn your device into an paperweight. I will assume that you have read through and tried all the suggestions posted here on the forum, but let’s just give this one more go around. I keep saying that I will stop doing this, but here we go again. Once more from the top! You don’t mention what your computer and OS are, but I will guess Windows plus the same routine should be the same for Mac. Also you don’t say what version firmware you had installed and or if you have updated firmware previously with success. Firstly go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select HX Effects. Leave the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" menu item as it is, now select your Windows system or Mac OSX from under the "-ALL OS-" tab, then click “GO”. On the next page you will find the first 3 items you will need. The Line 6 Updater v. 1.23, along with HX Edit 3.11 for your HX Effects and then you will need the Firmware 3.11.0 Flash Memory. Download all these items to your computer and note where they are. Then: Remove all Line 6 software from your computer especially the Windows drivers and then restart your computer. Make sure to turn off the power to your HX Effects. Unplug the USB cable from the computer and the HX Effects. Power up the HX Effects while holding down “PAGE >”. This will put the unit in a fail safe update mode. Use this when the HX Effects is in an un-recoverable state (should doing this give you a completely blank screen, you should still be able to re-install the firmware again.) Leave the HX Effects powered up. Now you can install the latest HX Edit v. 3.11 (with all the drivers) Reconnect the USB cable to the HX Effects and your computer - Do not use a Hub. (Some USB ports on the front of a PC can act as a hub, so use one on the back). Ensure that HX Edit is closed and also shutdown any other background tasks, screen savers etc., also disconnect from any internet services. You don’t want anything to interfere with this installation routine. Now, find and launch the Line 6 Updater Utility and select "Offline Mode". Your HX Effects and current firmware version should now show up in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - point it at the Flash Memory file you downloaded and let it get on with the update. When it completes you can launch the new HX Edit v.3.0 software and you should be good to go. No guarantee is given or implied - you do so at your own risk. If this fails, contact Line 6 Customer Support and raise a ticket. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: I just spotted that you are trying to update from v.2.51.0 Please note that the Core operating system change at version 2.80, and the “Boot Failure” is a known and expected part of the update routine. It is fully documented in the release notes for the firmware update procedure. Although you can go straight from 2.51.0 to the latest version, it a good idea to check out any possible glitches. The above routine should fix it. Also check out the 2.8 notes here.

Helix LT preset display flaky (same number across whole row, ...)
datacommando replied to marmatkat's topic in Helix
Hi, When you updated to firmware v3.11, did you follow the instructions to backup, do a factory reset and then reload from your backup file? It’s one of those things that is advised to avoid any weirdness after the update. In fact the Line 6 release notes for the update make a feature of it by using big red letters. Anything else I should know? Yes. We STRONGLY recommend performing a factory reset AFTER UPDATING your Helix/HX firmware to 3.11 and THEN RESTORING YOUR BACKUP. (Backing up is part of the update process). Here's how to perform a factory reset. IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP FIRST, AS A FACTORY RESET WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Helix Floor/LT: While holding footswitches 9 & 10 (bottom row, 2 middle switches), turn on Helix Floor/LT Helix Rack: While holding knobs 5 & 6 (2 furthest right knobs below the screen), turn on Helix Rack HX Effects: While holding footswitches 6 & TAP (2 farthest right switches on the bottom row), turn on HX Effects HX Stomp: While holding footswitches 2 & 3, turn on HX Stomp HX Stomp XL: While holding footswitches C & D, turn on HX Stomp Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, You have resurrected a thread from 2018, therefore you must feel this is important, but your not exactly helping us. Have you tried the suggestions posted previously? You aren’t giving anyone much to go on in your shout for assistance. Simply saying “I'm facing the same issue” is pretty meaningless - “muddy tones” - compared to what. What/how are you listening to your LT? As suggested by “Schmalle” in the post above, post an audio example and or preset you find “muddy” with an explanation of your listening environment. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Mmm…. That’s a novel approach to technology. If you mean that you are playing through HX Native while recording the direct dry signal from your guitar, then you need to turn off the built in monitoring in Studio One. Check my reply to an earlier post over on the Helix Native forum. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi again, Sorry for the delay - had to dig this out of a backup drive. The original link must have expired, hope this one is O.K. https://www.dropbox.com/s/or8nazd6be7qipr/Arislaf_Helix_Prests.zip?dl=0 Enjoy - Regards

Command Center customization for switches 1, 6, 7, 12 not working [SOLVED]
datacommando replied to fizbin's topic in Helix
Hi, Looks like “rd2rk” beat me to it once more - aaaarrggg. I was just going to say - watch the video once more, and then swap to 10 switch Stomp Mode. It makes it a little easier to comprehend when you see it being done on the hardware Helix. -
That post is from a couple of years back - they may have been accidentally cleared from Dropbox - I will upload them again ASAP. Stay tuned for the new link. Hope this helps/makes sense

Amazing, first, and possibly last post. Then, when you take it back to the store and they prove that there is nothing wrong with the unit, you will have embarrassed yourself in public for a second time. Astonishing attitude, from someone not requesting assistance, but blustering about doing the wrong thing and blaming the Stomp XL. Absolute genius.

Hi, You may want to have a look at this to see if it gets you close to what you want. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi Ken, This young guy has an interesting view on audio software on the Apple new computers and how it all fits in the real world of making a living/working situation. Check his comments about audio plugins and Rosetta 2 and the real timescale of software development on the new platform. Very astute observations. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Not familiar with “Doom Vacuum”, but I never really bothered with the factory presets. Forum user “Malhavok” (Ben Vesco) has been keeping a record of every change to the factory presets, from version 1.06.5 right up to 2.80. Find the info here - some are also available able as downloads. http://benvesco.com/store/line-6-helix/ Hope this helps/makes sense.

This comes up on such a regular basis I just wish there was a “sticky” post with the answer, but hey… Check this post to stop me having to go over everything again. https://line6.com/support/topic/60849-expression-pedal-working-but-only-does-0-or-100-nothing-in-between/?tab=comments#comment-388926 Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, According to the POD V2 Preset lists, it is based on a 1964/65 Marshall JTM45 with a Room Reverb. There is no mention of a delay in the basic setting. Although, it does say that delays only have (Tap)“delay time”, and (Tweak) “delay level” not feedback. Also it states that very quick delays will have no repeats for better “slap back”. I can’t find any reference to what the 4x12 cab is based on, so you could simply experiment. Follow the advice given by “codamedia” in the post above regarding mic choice and delays. You might get close, but you have to remember that the POD 2 is old school modelling, so hopefully HX DSP is a lot better. Hope this helps/makes sense.

I'm also hearing my DRY signal in Native...
datacommando replied to Ruttster's topic in Helix Native
Hi, Try checking your software monitoring settings. Have a look at “Hardware Monitoring vs. DAW Software Monitoring” on page 71 of the Helix Rack and Control 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev - D - English. Also see Helix Native v3.00 Pilot’s Guide - Rev N - English - page 10 - Live Input Monitoring Through Helix Native Plugin. You can find the Guide by clicking on the little gear wheel icon on the HX Native window. There is also a section about how to set up Cockos Reaper in the Quick Start section on page 8. Hope this helps/makes sense- 3 replies

Hi, As the iConnectivity mioXL is a MIDI networking interface with 22 MIDI ports and the HX Stomp has MIDI IN OUT/THRU on DIN sockets, surely it’s just a question of hooking it up. Although, it does depend what you are wanting to do with the Stomp MIDI options. You may be better off consulting the manual for the network hub, or proving a little more info about what you want to achieve. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Unassigning "Preset/Stomp" and "Tap/Tuner" (Helix Floor)
datacommando replied to wildcombination's topic in Helix
When you long press the TAP F/S to enter the tuning facility you can modify the tuner from Fine, to Coarse or Strobe using knob 4 marked “Type”. See page 44 - Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev E - English. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Ah, well, you said you would, and now you have - I wish you good luck with your new device.

Hi, See the second black banner entitled “Why is Line 6 not responding???” at the top of this page - that explains why! Oh, yeah! It’s been there since 2015. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi Andy, This Is the wrong place to post any type of features request - this is a “User Group” - it’s unlikely that anybody from Line 6 will ever see it in here. This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by someone from Line 6, who maybe able to make it happen: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed by anyone else. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post any or all your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. You should use this thread (link below) to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps/makes sense.
