It sure is, and that’s exactly what a lot of us do - all the time. For you to come here and make a ridiculous post, then down vote regular contributors, is not a good way to make friends and influence people. Please try not to embarrass yourself any further. Sadly, I am unable to help you with your quest for “how to implement a polytune or Whammy DT-like patch?”. Although, there maybe some who would like to tell what to do with it. My wife told me that my people skills need some work, but my people skills are just fine. It’s my tolerance of stupidity that needs work. You’re on your own.

Hi, again Michael,
Strangely enough, we had been discussing “acoustic treatment” for rooms, and today on YouTube a video was posted by a guy that I have a great respect for (and I actually use his some of his Spitfire orchestral samples) regarding exactly the things I mentioned earlier.
You might want to take some time out to watch it, so you can have an idea of the sort of thing you may need to know when your specialists arrive to treat your space.
Hope this gives you some idea of what is involved, but don’t tell your wife. ;-)
Regards & Enjoy.

Godverdomme! I would guess you must have the faders in Cubase mapped to respond to the guitar NOTE: I use Logic Pro X on the Mac - I haven't used Cubase since the days of the Atari ST. This is probably a MIDI problem where the Helix is responding to the changes from your guitar. Ensure that the are not set to the same channel and you guitar MIDI signals go to MIDI THRU or you could turn OFF MIDI PC Receive in the Globals. Grab a MIDI Monitor to figure out what messages are going where. https://www.snoize.com/midimonitor/ That could be a whole bunch of things - garbled MIDI messages, latency, playing technique or something else entirely. Without seeing, or being able to access your setup it is rather difficult to guess what is happening. For example: I have my Helix set up to record audio from the guitars (both Variax and regular) fully processed in stereo along with a mono dry unaffected guitar signal onto another track. My Arturia KeyLab61 controls all the soft synths in Logic via MIDI. Note originally I had the Controller Keyboard patched into the MIDI ports on the Helix which is set as the audio in/out device in Logic and it all just worked. Things have change a little now - I have the Keyboard USB MIDI into an XTouch control surface. The keyboard still plays the synths, drums etc., and the XTouch controls everything else in the DAW - faders, transport, automation. Once more it just works - Logic recognises the XTouch as a Mackie Control system, Helix supplies the audio and it works like a dream. I'm not sure how you have yours working, but something is not correct. You need to do a little more investigating to track down the glitches at your end. Check how your Cubase is set up. Het lijkt erop dat de jouwe meer een nachtmerrie is dan een droom. Hope this helps/makes sense.

In the "Templates" Setlist on your Helix - Slot 02C Two Tone A-B is already set up to do this sort of thing. Here's a video of Johnnathan Cordy demoing the two amp set up (starts around 3.38 sec -he's just noodling up to there). Hope this helps makes sense.

Hi, They are usually pretty quick to respond to Support requests, but as this is quite a common occurrence, and it has solutions posted here many times over, may be it got put to one side. It's also a big help to know what you computer OS and hardware are. "Same problem" and "Bombed out" are descriptive but not very helpful when trying to figure out what needs to be done to fix the problem. O.K. Here we go again. Get the latest Line 6 Updater for you computer system from the 'Downloads" at the top of this page. Disconnect the USB cable from your computer and Helix. Reboot your computer and reconnect the USB to the computer and Helix. Then reboot your Helix while holding down FS 6 & 12 (nearest the expression pedal). It may start up with a blank screen, but carry on. Launch the updater and log into your Line 6 account. It should now detect you hardware and you can then update the Firmware to the latest version. Hope this helps/makes sense.

hx stomp Command Center Preset Switch not working at first start

Ah ha, good catch - I had no way to test this, but was sure the one of the regulars would pick it up and so you did. Now we know. -
I can't see the new "$hittier FX" listed on my HX Edit - did I do something wrong? ;-)
-
O.K. Here we go again. You need to do this on the actual Helix LT. HX Edit cannot access the Global Settings for your hardware. It is a generic Editor Librarian app for all HX products and each one has different hardware functions. On your Helix LT, at the top left corner is a push button named “SAVE”, and to the right of that is another button marked with 3 stacked horizontal lines. Push that button, it’s the menu button for the Command Centre, Global EQ, Global Settings and more options on your hardware unit. From that point navigate to where I indicated previously. Global Settings > Ins/Outs > USB In 1/2 Trim, which is under the last knob on the right. Play your backing track while adjusting the USB trim (volume) down to a reasonable level. Much as I don’t like having to repeat this, the Helix LT Owner’s Manual is a really good place to familiarise yourself with what this thing can do. Hope this helps/makes sense.

This was years before the Fullerton (Tweed) was added, but in this link, Ben Adrian explains about how Helix models handle extra controls that the original amp didn’t have. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/line6-helix.1586637/page-1033#post-21593186 Also Jason Sadites has a video about dialling in the Bright model. Hope this helps/makes sense.

hx stomp Command Center Preset Switch not working at first start

Hi, again, If it works fine with the onboard switches, are you certain there is not an issue with your FS5? Otherwise, you really need to raise a ticket with Customer Support, to make them aware is this. They will have it checked out, and if it is definitely a bug, take measures to get it fixed. In the menu at the top of this page, click “SUPPORT”, then “My Account” and on the left hand side of the window, under the sub heading “Support”, select “Support Tickets”. On the next page you can hit the button “OPEN NEE TICKET”. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, I seriously doubt that they have downgraded anything in the HX series - they made the claim that the increased over sampling is a subtle but good improvement. Apart from adding the new Dynamic Hall, the last time that the reverbs had any changes was when they were made “wetter” at user’s request. I will check out the Octoverb when I’m in the studio later, although it’s not a reverb that I use that much. Let’s hope your mind is not becoming weaker. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: 5 hours later - I fired up my Helix and stuck the Octoverb behind a Jazz Rivet - seems O.K. here.

Hi, Go into the Global settings on your LT. Global Settings > Ins/Outs > USB In 1/2 Trim, which is under the last knob on the right. Play your backing track while adjusting the USB trim (volume) down to a reasonable level. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Ah, yes, HX Edit is the remote Editor and Librarian for all the HX family of products. Each piece of hardware has Global Setting that are specific to that item. For example, the Helix Floor has the most In/Out connections, and all those foot switches, that are not available on the HX Stomp. So the other than the Global EQ, they are not included in the Editor. That would possibly cause more confusion for some users. It can be a steep learning curve, but take it step by step and read the Owner's Manual and watch YouTube videos and you will soon learn more of what you can achieve with this magic box. If you cannot find an answer for something regarding your Helix, you can post in the forum here. Usually some one will have the answer. Veel plezier met het leren gebruiken, het is erg moeilijk om dit beest te beschadigen. Tot ziens.

Blij om te helpen. Ik hoop dat je alles correct communiceert via MIDI. Tot ziens.

Hi, You can choose to turn off MIDI over USB in the Global Settings > MIDI/Tempo. Also selectable are MIDI PC Receive and Send = Off/MIDI/USB/MIDI+USB. Connect your MIDI out from your Controller Keyboard to the MIDI In on the Helix and whatever MIDI messages are fed in they can be directed out via USB or the MIDI Out/Thru port on the rear of the Helix. Make sure the the MIDI channel on the Keyboard and the SoftSynth in Cubase are the same and when you hit middle C on the Keyboard the Synth should sound that note.

hx stomp Command Center Preset Switch not working at first start
datacommando replied to mstoffel's topic in Helix
That is very strange as that usually fixes "glitches'. I have a Snapshot set upon FS8 on my Helix that goes between 2 presets, as you describe you have for your HX Stomp. It works exactly as it should. Now I realise that you said HX Stomp, and AFAIK, they usually have 3 Footswitches. That leads me to think that your FS5 is on an external pedal, and if that is the case I hope someone else can assist you, as I don't have a Stomp to check this issue. Having said that - no matter, an instant command should just work. -

Hi, After the update to v.3.10, did you perform the factory reset and restore your presets, global etc.? That is the recommended procedure, to avoid strange or unexpected things happening. It maybe something in your global settings that has changed. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
FYI: As it has already been pointed out - the Litigator is not a real amp in the conventional sense - it’s a digital model. In this linked thread someone has posted the real story of the Litigator from the guy who created it - Ben Adrian of Line 6. Not sure if it helps, but - here ya go.

Not exactly “off topic”, but it might be beneficial to also those same questions in an Ableton User Group See if anyone one there has anything that may provide a solution. Hope this helps/makes sense.

As noted by “rd2rk” in the post above, you can’t simply copy and paste snapshots from a location in one preset, to another in a different preset. Your best option is to duplicate the preset with the “several crunch tones”. Then write down all the snapshot settings you have in the “clean tone” and add those settings into the crunch patch. Possibly less things to recreate this way round. There is no shortcut for this, but it works. Hope this helps/makes sense.

The first step for updating is downloading and installing HX Edit 3.0
datacommando replied to phil_m's topic in Helix
That’s because your brain is not a computer. This “bug” is very well documented on here, and for many people it’s a complete PITA. You don’t need to know why - it just does. -
Ahh... that can happen if I don’t take my medication. Quick nurse, the screens! Gone again!

Good evening, where I am. Wot u want?

Hi, Usually, when weird stuff starts to happen, the factory reset will blow the bugs out. After you updated did you do a factory reset, and restore from backup, and ensure that you are using HX Edit 3.10? This is the recommended procedure after updating.
