  1. Hi, Lexicon are excellent bits of kit, but have you ever come across a Quantec Room Simulator? It worked on the principal of not simply sound reflections bounced from the solid boundary of the room walls, but also how it interacted with the air in the space. They are astonishing, and if you can find an original, very expensive. They were launched in 1982 and competing with the likes of the (now) equally legendary AMS RMX16, Klark Technik DN780, Eventide SP2016, Ursa Major Space Station, Yamaha Rev 5 and 7 and, of course, the Lexicon 224. You can still buy the 4th generation offshoot Quantec Yardstick, which uses essentially the same algorithms and produces the same revered room simulation that has, arguably, never been surpassed. Although, having said that, a while back I found a FREE plugin that uses a similar idea of air inside the space. Not quite in the same league, but a interesting idea nonetheless. Check out the freebie here: https://u-he.com/products/protoverb/
  2. You are simply proving that the moonshine is not too bright. I love it, you shoot yourself in the foot and then blame the bystanders. I would say that you couldn’t make this stuff up - but you have managed it really easily. All anyone in here has done is try to put you straight about your misconceptions. Plus if you’re looking for somewhere more humane you could try TGP, where they might put you out of your misery. Have a nice life
  3. Well, it appears that you are very easy to fool. Where did you see “Moderator” mentioned? The point is - we do “get it” and you seem to be the only one that doesn’t. You have constantly cross posted throughout the forum, going over, and over, the same thing, rather like a petulant child screaming me, me, me! Ye gods, you even go to the point of naming this thread “Moonshine2015” Mmm... 2015 - maybe that was your incept date because your behaviour is similar a 5 year old. Better check the MTBF for every thing you purchase.
  4. No, I don’t, and you seem to fail to understand what I am telling you. The date of manufacture is totally irrelevant. Once registered it is covered for repair or replacement. As you mention UK prices I will give an example in British terms. You could go to buy a “brand new” car that has been manufactured and shipped into a warehouse for a year, then moved to a dealership showroom for another 6 months and when you see it and decide to purchase it, it gets registered and plated for that year. So you could have a vehicle registered as 2020, but in reality it’s 2018. Reality check! That’s the way thing are in the real world. That’s it - I’m done!
  5. Hi, This guy has a scattergun approach to posting. First time round (couple of days back) he had already got around 24 posts across the forum, trying to figure out if his Rack unit had a fault in the joystick hardware or if it was a software issue. Eventually, the light went on, and he has decided to send his B stock purchase back to the place he bought it and is getting one brand new. He is now in an obsessive state of stress that his brand new Helix Rack may been made in 2015 and sleeping in the back of a Chinese warehouse since then. His big worry is, when he opens it and plugs in, the joystick will immediately fall off. In another post, I have tried to explain the principle of warranty on products. I will wait, with a certain dread, to see what happens next. Some times I worry for my own sanity, because of some of the antics and other nonsense in here. Time for my medication, it may stop the voices. AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGH!
  6. moonshine, This thing about, are they still being manufactured, or have they been sitting in a warehouse for a few years, is borderline insanity, and a complete waste of everyone’s time all across this forum. It makes no difference whatsoever, when it was made. What does matter is the day you register the unit with Line 6, then your warranty commences. From that point on, if anything fails while inside the guarantee period it will be repaired or replaced. Essentially you are worrying about nothing. Life is a series of “what ifs” - just get on with it, because everything craps out eventually. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. The best people to give an answer to your question, is someone who actually works on the development of the software. Probably won’t happen in here because this is a user group. Only very occasionally do we get a quick visit from any Line 6 staff. You really should be posting your question over on the Helix section of TGP or the huge Facebook Helix Family group. Those are a couple of places that are known hang outs of the high up people of Line 6. Aim your post at Frank Ritchotte, or Eric Klein (Digital_Igloo) and see what happens. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. That's all well and good, but you didn't say if you had tried any of the suggested remedies posted above. You simply griped about the fact that your computer had crashed "right in the middle of firmware update". With any computer system that can happen out of the blue. How you concluded that this incident was caused by your very expensive "Helix Limited Edition Gold", I've no idea, but it's interesting that you have predetermined that's the cause. It is very rarely true that a glitch in the firmware will actually turn your device into an paperweight, so try some of the reset/re-install options that have worked for others. If all else fails you can contact Customer Support who will advise you, because the only people in here are other Helix users - No line 6 staff! Hope this helps /makes sense.
  9. It's very lucky that you didn't create the secret combination of effect blocks on a dual path that opens the gates of hell. You're O.K. Nothing to worry about, it's fixed now.
  10. Huh? That’s a very weird question. Why not? Did you get your Rack with the flakey joystick fixed yet?
  11. Shame - you just missed the sale. Helix Native, for owners of Helix family products, had an extra 30% off the regular $99.99 price with the CYBER30 code.
  12. Oh, no! I was hoping that might work, and as it appears that you have tried all the other options posted in the forum it looks like that’s all I had to offer. Beyond being able to “kickstart” the software, it will more than likely need an engineer to whip the lid off and probe around inside with the appropriate test gear. Sadly, that’s not something I can help with, being just a regular user along with most other contributors on here. Time to open a ticket with Customer Support. I realise this is not a great help, but good luck with getting it fixed soon.
  13. Hi, Possibly you would be better off using some good quality headphones that would give you better results - tools to do the job. Lots of options at various price points - discussed many times on this and other forums - do a search. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi, I don’t know about your particular situation, but it works fine on an iMac 27” 5k Retina. Also, you have posted in the wrong place if you expect a reply from a Line 6 staff member. See the second down black banner at the top of this page “Why is Line 6 not responding???”. Best thing is to follow the advice given by “rd2rk” in the post above, but an attitude readjustment may be required, if you expect to get assistance over on TGP. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Hi, As you say that you have a back up of you Rack prior to doing the update, there is nothing to be lost by doing a complete factory reset to see if that clears the glitch. Hold down ENC5 & ENC6 while turning the power on, release the buttons when you see the message that the restore is in progress. These are all the options: Helix Rack Since the rack doesn’t have footswitches, you’ll instead hold down a combination of the 6 encoders that are below the main LCD screen as you’re booting up. Button Combination Description ENC2 & ENC3 Reset globals ENC3 & ENC4 Restore stock presets and setlists ENC4 & ENC5 Restore stock presets, setlists, and IRs ENC5 & ENC6 Reset globals and restore presets, setlists, and IRs (entire factory restore) ENC1 & ENC3 Rebuild all presets ENC1 & ENC5 Clear all presets, setlists, and IRs ENC1 & ENC6 Will enter Update Mode (This feature is only available on firmware v1.06.5 and higher) Also, i just remembered something, and I’m not in the studio at the moment, but IIRC, aren’t those MBritt Helix Preset Pack 1 supposed to be mapped to specific slots? I can see that the .pdf info file for the pack is in the screen grab you supplied. Maybe there’s a clue in there, I will have a read through later. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  16. As everyone else has already noted, you have run out of DSP. Some combinations of FX, Amps and IRs will eat this up pretty quickly. FYI: Forum user “Malhavok” (Ben Vesco) has a full list of DSP allocation on his website - certainly worth checking out as it has been re-worked for version 3.0 firmware - find it here. https://benvesco.com/store/helix-dsp-allocations/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. Hi, I will assume that you have read through and tried all the suggestions posted here, but let’s just give this one more go around. You don’t mention what your computer and OS are, but I will guess Windows - plus the routine should be the same for Mac. Remove all Line 6 software from your computer especially the Windows drivers and then restart your computer. Make sure to turn off the power to your Helix. Unplug the USB cable from the computer and Helix. Hold down FS6 & FS12 and the turn power on and when Helix logo appears, quickly release both foot switches. Leave it powered up. Download the and install latest HX Edit v. 3 (with all the drivers) Reconnect the USB cable to Helix and computer - Do not use a Hub. Find and launch the Line 6 Updater and re-install the v.3.01 firmware file Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. Please verify that you are using HX Edit v.3.00 and that your Helix floor is running 3.01 Hope this helps/makes sense
  19. I think that it was entirely due to a simultaneous post. ;-)
  20. Hi, I'm gonna guess that you mean this! https://helixhelp.com Updated to 3.01 Hope this helps/makes sense
  21. Hi again, franoise I have to keep chasing around to find where you are posting things. I would suggest this: Start your Rack while pressing the encoders 1 and 6, this should put the rack into update mode (KEEP THE HELIX CONTROL OFF). Start the Line 6 updater 1.19 (the latest) and see what is your Rack unit’s firmware version number If it shows Helix Rack 3.0, then you can try reinstalling the firmware and see what happens If it shows Helix Rack 2.x, then you should reinstall THAT SPECIFIC firmware; for example, if it's showing Helix Rack 2.8, try reinstalling the firmware 2.8 If you manage to roll back to a stable firmware just try the procedure again, but this time, when the helix reboot itself, DO NOT shut it off, just do NOTHING and wait for the updater to finish and/or fail. If the updater does fail, just keep the Helix as it is (DO NOT TURN IT OFF) and restart the updater. At this point go back to point 2 again. If you have no success with this, it may be something serious in the hardware, then you will need to contact Line 6 Customer Service and see if they can help. Hope this helps/makes sense
  22. Hi, If you read the release notes it states that the update for Helix Native will follow ASAP. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Hi franoise, You told me that your Rack was stuck on the :-28 error. Have you managed to correct the problem? You may want to try installing the new 3.01 immediately.
