The thing that strikes me about YouTube videos is the audio is subjected to compression and is generally bad. https://www.yoursoundmatters.com/stop-listening-to-music-on-youtube/?utm_content=cmp-true Hope this helps/makes sense.

As noted by @waymda in the post above - not all Strats are equal. Pickups and string gauge can make big difference. I didn’t watch very much of the vid, because in the first few seconds of him playing you can see his Strat has the Gilmour mini toggle switch fitted. Not sure if that may be part of this difference in sound between your Strat and his. The mini switch wiring mod allows the combination of neck and bridge, or all 3 pups together.

Helix Mangling Sound for first 20 minutes of on time

Oops! A slip of the finger tip! Apologies, I’ve fixed it now. -
please reccomend a 2.1 - 2.5 mm power adpter cable for Hx Stomp XL
datacommando replied to uddude's topic in Helix
Hi, Why do you need to buy another power adapter? According to the Godlyke website - they state: LIFETIME WARRANTY – never buy another power supply! plus the blurb continues and specifically says: (1) Cable-Green Line-6 Jumper Cable with spring loaded jack for use with Line 6 Modelers and other pedals requiring a 2.5 mm internal diameter jack. If you have found that it does not work correctly (as advertised) then you really need to contact them and complain that the product is not fit for purpose and they are advertising it under false pretences. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Helix Mangling Sound for first 20 minutes of on time
datacommando replied to jamiepettersen's topic in Helix
Hi, Nope never encountered this, but it sure sounds like it is beyond the scope of the average contributor to this forum. Suggest you have it checked out with somebody qualified to poke around inside your Helix. I realise you won’t like this, but it looks like this requires a 6000km round trip for repair or you get to slowly watch it die. How far is it to the nearest place you can buy a replacement? Not really a great deal of options here. -
I think we all would like to hear sample of a preset, but what makes this even more weird is the OP states that this phenomenon occurs on his friends Helix LT, Helix Floor and a HX Stomp and every guitar they have tried. What? That’s totally insane, and I cannot even see how it could be possible, unless they all have screwed up the Firmware installation. Why are they all not banging on the door of Customer Service demanding a fix. If this happened on all 4 of those HX products, while using the same guitar, I could understand that, but otherwise this is borderline crazy.

Like a complete fool - I did a search for the rubber feet you are trying to find and now I’m bombarded by this stuff from FleaBay - aaaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155335796942?mkevt=1&mkpid=2&emsid=e90001.m43.l1123&plmtId=700008&mesgId=3024&mkcid=8&ch=osgood&bu=42972463158&trkId=699dc1c5-8c8c-473a-ab81-4adc39bb3d6d&cnvId=700003&recoId=155335796942&recoPos=1

The file you attached is not the correct type, it is .php and it needs to be a .hlx file. What you say about this also happening on friends Helix units is complete madness. If this is correct, then I don’t understand why have they not posted here to report this problem, or complained directly to Line 6 Customer Support. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, It works when plugged between guitar and the main input of the Helix (guitar -> wha out / wha in -> helix) Fun for 5 minutes then… yawn! Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, They are not encoded, they are the file format of the POD Go. When you visit CustomTone, at the top of the page in the grey stripe, click on the box that says “ALL PRODUCTS” and from the dropdown menu select your hardware unit to return only presets that will be a suitable match. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, I did a bit of digging around regarding amp switching issues especially as you mentioned:- “Plus, even if i got it to work, there would then be the new problem of why it was humming like a mofo (while in 4cm in addition to the external amp cable being attached). Ground lifts didn't work, nor did changing outlets, but as soon as i removed the cable from my amp's footswitch jack to the LT's EXT Amp/Exp 2 jack, the hum went away.” See the final comment regarding ground hum, posted by @Schmalle

Are you certain that those 10 seconds were not the death throes of the connection before it totally died? Maybe you need a necromancer not a technician.

Have you checked this using anything other than Reaper? You haven’t specified what version of Reaper, your computer type and operating system details. It’s good to know these things. Hope this helps/makes sense.

If using the Command Centre didn’t manage to swap channels then I would suspect that something else is causing the issue. Theoretically, the Command Centre should be able to control any function including channel switching, as clearly demonstrated in the video. There are caveats as shown in this other video below. After this amount of time, I would quite simply use the foot switches that ship with the Bad Cat amp - life’s too short. Also, Line 6 have said previously that the channel switching function cannot be guaranteed to work with every model of amp - too many variables I guess. Technology, eh?

Hi, There are stacks of places to get rubber pads that you can use as feet on your EX-1. Try your local hardware store, FleaBay, or Amazon will all have a variety of things with double stick tape that you can use. Mission do replacement screw on feet, but they may be like the Dunlop ones that you found which are too big. Punch “rubber feet for guitar pedals” into the search box on Google and see what happens. The truth is out there!

Once again, you find it inconsistent, but it is completely irrelevant. As Ben says in the quote above: “we will invent the knobs in a way that makes the most sense to us.” Oh, or maybe because the Auga has a bloody great big MASTER knob on the front panel and the Channel Volume is simply for final audio level. It doesn’t have any influence on the sound. https://www.aguilaramp.com/bass-amps/db-751/ Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Your question is a little vague? Do you mean preset.hlx files, or are you referring to a downloaded zip file. If it’s a zip, just double click it to unpack the contents. If you have downloaded a custom .hlx preset that you need to transfer to your Helix LT, you need to connect it to your computer via USB, then open HX Edit. You can drag and drop your new preset into an empty slot in one of the setlists in the editor and it will then show up in the corresponding slot on your LT. MANUAL FOR HX EDIT - CLICK THE LINK BELOW. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f1049f61fd3077f0eca/application/pdf/HX Edit 3.15 Pilot's Guide - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Why should it be baffling? The Channel Volume has no bearing on the tone of the amp model. The Master Volume does change the sound. Here’s another quote from Ben Adrian, when he was asked “Why all those extra knobs?” - Ben’s the guy who creates these amp models:- “If an amp has a small number of knobs, then we will invent the knobs in a way that makes the most sense to us. First, let me say that the Channel Volume (ChVol) knob is ALWAYS a flat response, post amp model level control. This is like a fader on a console. It's in the amp model, but it's not tied to the tonality of the amp model. It's how I level different presets so that they play well together.“ Hope this helps/makes sense.
-
Hi, This is copied from the old Helix Help WordPress site by “JSHIMKOSKI” The Channel Volume as equivalent to a channel strip on a mixing console. It simply turns up or down the overall volume of the amp. It does not effect the tone. The Master Volume is essentially the master volume on the amp itself and therefore will effect tone by adding or decreasing dirt/grit. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Yes Nigel, as you have told us repeatedly - without success! Asking the same question over and over expecting a different result is … Have you tried asking those nice people at Bad Cat amps why you can’t achieve the mystery of channel switching. or try this: Hope this helps/makes sense.

HX Edit ... should work without Device connected
datacommando replied to PaulTBaker's topic in Helix
Well, at the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, this is exactly what is possible now! The only downside to this is when you make your desired edit in Native you need to save it in order to import it, or drag and drop it, into HX Edit to port across into your hardware device. I really don’t see the issue here. It’s creating problems that don’t exist. -
Hi Michael, Sadly - no, this is not the place to make suggestions. As there are no Line staff here, and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). This link is where you need to go to have any hope of your idea been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. Then you should use the “sticky thread” named “Helix IdeaScale Community Suggestions” in this forum to let other users know what your suggestions are, with your links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi Pen, Well done, you now have a fully functioning Helix - welcome to the “l fixed my Helix” club. One BIG thing to remember is - when seeking assistance for any issues that you may encounter with your device, please state the computer and operating system that you are using. It helps to troubleshoot various odd things between the Windows and Mac OS. If we had known you were using Windows, we may have been able to solve your installation problem on the first pass. Regards Enjoy working with your new toy!
