  1. Hi, Huh? Yes you can - simply touch the foot switch assigned to whatever stomp FX block (eg - Simple Delay which has a Green LED) then select Customize from the on screen menu and from there you can rotate the encoder below the section named "Switch LED" to change it from Auto Color to whatever you like.
  2. This is a peer to peer user forum. There are no Line 6 staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums” - plus, as you are already aware, IdeaScale has been retired - see the blue “sticky” banner above. If you want to attract the attention of any Line 6 people, who may be even vaguely interested in your suggestion, then your best chance is either, the Helix Family FarceBuck group, or over on TGP in the Digital and Modeling section, but don’t hold your breath! As for your “visual layout” idea, then you should be aware that over the past 10 years the skeuomorphic design discussion has been done to death, and it ain’t gonna happen. If you really want to get noticed you could email (annoy) the people who are in charge - Eric Klein, or Frank Richotte. Not a trinity, more the Holy Duo - the only pair who could possibly implement your “groundbreaking firmware update”. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  3. Hi, Easy enough - at the top of this page click on the item named “SUPPORT”, then on the following page click on the “CONTACT SUPPORT” icon. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  4. Well, that is perfectly normal for this place - nobody from Line 6 seems to care. They all hang out on the Helix Facebook thing, or TGP. ;-)
  5. Hi, I haven’t recorded anything for quite sometime using my iPad Air 2, but IIRC I needed this for it communicate properly. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lightning-Charging-Compatible-Supports-Connection/dp/B0CTT8DX51/ref=asc_df_B0CTT8DX51?mcid=2b6fa62014ec3533a162b5d066496313&tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=697300985719&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3485065662908258461&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046330&hvtargid=pla-2340468471784&gad_source=1&th=1 Also, when recoding guitars I used either an IK Multimedia iRig, or iRig Acoustic Stage, to use with GarageBand, but they used the small headphone socket to patch in. Apple did away with the phones jack which possibly why I still have this old iPad. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. It’s not a secret that IdeaScale is finished - See the Blue Banner at the top of this page named “ideascale Retirement”.
  7. If you would love to get the "cloud burst" reverb that is in the Strymon Big Sky, then the easiest solution is to go and buy one and stick it in the FX Loop of your unit. Also, have a look at this. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. Hi, DETAILS MATTER: When seeking assistance from Forum users it's a really good idea to supply as much information as possible regarding your computer and operating system. Use detail in your post. The thread you have posted to is 3 years old, so simply stating “same issue here” doesn’t really mean much without precise details. You need to describe exactly what is happening prior to experiencing a crash with HX Edit. As you will have realised, this is not a common occurrence, or interwebs would be alive with complaints because HX Edit is the only remote editor for all the HX range of hardware. Off the top of my head - please ensure you are running the latest version of HX Edit to match the Firmware. It is not unknown for Macs to still have an alias back to a earlier version of the editor which inadvertently gets launched instead of the latest. When using HX Edit it is usually advisable to not have other apps running in the background, especially anything that may interfere with the USB audio. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi again, Well, I have only just spotted that all your presets have the "Yellow Pick" icon beside them. Usually people don't ask why the Snapshots are not saving, but more likely why are all those yellow icons there? It usually indicates that it is a preset bought from the Line 6 Marketplace, and therefore it has to be tied to the line 6 account that purchased it, in order to use it. Having said that - the preset you're editing doesn't have that icon, BUT all those other Presets look like the Factory Default Setlist. This leads me to think that there is an issue with your installation of Helix Native. See the linked post for a solution. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SAFETY BACKUP OF EVERYTHING FIRST! Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. Hi, The latest version of the Firmware for the HX One is 3.81.0 and it contains some bug fixes and a couple of MIDI enhancements. I’m a Helix user, so I’m not sure that it addresses the issue you’re having, but it’s always a good idea to use the latest firmware in your unit. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Hi, If you decide to allocate the foot switches to Preset/Snap, then you will have automatically limited the access to the first 4 Snapshots in that particular configuration. The Presets are available and can be used directly and also scrolled through using FS1&7 for PRESET UP/DOWN functions. Essentially the only way to access any Snapshot from 5-8 is to press both FS1&7 together which should then display all 8 Snapshots. If you then press for example Snapshot 7 that will be displayed in the little Camera Icon in the top right of the screen, and the foot switch layout will return to 4 Presets on the top row and 4 Snaps on the lower switches. If this is too much tap dancing, you may want to consider creating Stackable Snapshots by using the Command Center. Check out this video from Steve Sterlacci. Hope this helps makes sense.
  12. Hi, I don't understand why you are having this issue because, I have just gone through the same routine as you described, only on a Mac running Logic ProX and everything is working as it should. Also, what I don't comprehend is why you are still working with Helix Native 3.15, when the latest version is 3.82. I would suggest that you update to the current version of the software and try again. Hope this helps makes sense.
  13. Hi, Just jumping in here, but why are you taking the monitor output signal from Logic and sending it to your Macs output? If you’re using the HX Stomp as your audio interface then you should assign it to handle all the audio in and out from Logic and connect your phones to the socket on the side of the Stomp. See page 61 of the HX Stomp 3.80 Owner’s Manual - USB Audio. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afdda673cccdb61c9c/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf In Logic go to Preferences > Audio and make sure that your HX Stomp is selected for both in and out. Hope this helps makes sense.
  14. Hi, As you are aware the Manual states:- If you want a Volume Pedal or Wah to maintain its position when switching presets, set this to “Global.” First rule of Helix - when weird and/or unexpected stuff happens - perform a factory reset. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Hi, No, that's never been an option - and why would it be? You obviously have a problem with the encoder, which possibly may not be registering the downwards "click", and yes, I do mean "click" - it's audible on my Helix floor unit. There may not be any downward movement on the encoder if there is no gap under the bottom of the encoder button, then you will not be able to depress it to engage the switch. If the base of the cap is touching the body of your LT, you could try to gently (and I do mean gently) prise the cap up off the LT case to leave a gap of around 2mm, then try to depress the encoder to engage the Setlist/Preset menu options. If you already have a sufficient gap for the "click" to happen, but still no Setlist appears, then it could be that you should try the solution suggested by @theElevators and give it a shot of DetoxIT to see if that helps. Other than that, the only other thing that comes to mind is that one of the solder tags inside, under the switch, has gone flakey. Dry solder joints can be a pain. I had that problem with the Joystick on my Helix a long time back. If none this works then you made need a Line 6 repair shop to deal with it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  16. Hi, O.K. firstly, this is a peer to peer user group and Line 6 staff rarely, if ever, visit here - therefore if you wish to report a problem the only way to get a response is to raise a ticket with Customer Support. Having said that, you do state that - “Support insists that there is no incompatibility”. Hmm… well if that is what they say, then there is not much you can do other than keep on banging on about it until you get a complete answer. At the moment it appears that only you are experiencing this issue. Right - in situations such as this, when you have updated two items at the same time then you also need to think - “What else has changed”. You mention that Native also crashes GarageBand - did it work perfectly prior to the update? You also say the following the advice from Support, you have done an uninstall/reinstall several times. Are you certain that you removed all traces of the older installation and restarted your Mac before performing a clean install? If you are uncertain that everything was cleaned out you should read the Helix Native Pilot's Guide, and on page 6 you will find the detailed info you require, under the heading "Removing Helix Native". https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afef2673cd2e8a197b/application/pdf/Helix Native Pilot's Guide 3.80 - English .pdf Another thing springs to mind about installing HXN with Cubase - IIRC Cubase doesn’t like the AAX version of the plug-in, so when you run the installer, you need to ensure that the AAX option is NOT checked. Also, it may be worth creating a new user account on your Mac and logging on with that, as I seem to recall that for some unknown reason that trick made everything work under the new user name. Weird, but true. One further thing is to check in the Steinberg and Apple forums for any clues. I read somewhere that some folk think that Apple were causing issues with Cubase 14 in an attempt to get people to move onto Logic. Check you local Rumour Mill and Conspiracy channels for more on that. Hope this helps/makes sense - good luck.
  17. Hi, After updating to the latest firmware did you perform the recommended Factory Reset, and Restore from Backup, as specified in the 3.80 Release Notes? Rule 1 - When unexplained weird stuff starts to happen, perform a Factory Reset. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. Hi, Usually the best place to find information such as this, is the HX Effects 3.80 Owners Manual. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afdbe673ccc8bdcf2d/application/pdf/HX Effects 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf See page 12 - Editing Effects. When you have a delay selected you change the time from milliseconds to note divisions by pressing down on the first knob below the display screen. This is detailed in the “shortcut” panel on page 12. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. Hi, You don’t need to copy/paste the MIDI data in Logic Pro, simply point it at the item you wish to automate. You might find it worthwhile to check the Helix Native Pilot’s Guide 3.80 - page 50 - The Automation/Controller Assign Tab. You can find it to download by clicking on the Question Mark icon in the lower left corner of the GUI window. Also, follow the supplied info supplied by @silverhead in the post above. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  20. Hi, From the release notes for the latest firmware: OPTIONAL: The only way to hear 3.80's new factory presets is to restore them. IMPORTANT! MAKE SURE YOU'VE EXPORTED A BUNDLE (OR ANY IMPORTANT SETLISTS) FIRST, AS RESTORING FACTORY SETLISTS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Click the gear icon in the lower left, select the Presets/IRs tab, and then click Restore Factory Setlists. Click Yes. I guess if this is a brand new installation you will have nothing to back up - therefore simply click on the Restore option. You might find it useful to read through the manual. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afef2673cd2e8a197b/application/pdf/Helix Native Pilot's Guide 3.80 - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. Hopefully, that is the sort of mistake you will only make once. Remember- fail safe - always work on a copy. Plus, save, save and then save again! Check your backup files.
  22. Hi, First rule of Helix club is - when weird stuff starts to happen, perform a factory reset! While holding footswitches 9 & 10 (bottom row, 2 middle switches), turn on your Helix. If that doesn’t fix the issue, boot up in Safe Mode, by pressing and holding buttons 6 and 12 while you power on the Helix. You should now be able to reinstall the latest firmware, and then restore from backup. IMPORTANT! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP FIRST, AS A FACTORY RESET WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! If the issue with your unit still persists, raise a ticket with Customer Support. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Hi, Yes it is possible, if you follow the advice given by @theElevators in the post above. As the HXFX has 2 EXP inputs, it may be simpler to add a couple of cheap M-Audio EXP pedals to control Wah and Vol independently. Hi, AFAIK, the Mission SP1-L6H is not suitable for use with the HXFX. The switch makes it viable only for the Rack and Stomp units. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  24. Oops! Apologies, I misinformed you - your Helix LT does not have the 10 foot-switch option available. Thanks to @theElevators for pointing out the restriction of the capabilities of the LT unit.
