  1. Hi, Is IdeaScale working properly now, because recently anyone trying to add to it or upvote anything has encountered this response. Community is set to Read Only. Any update operation is not allowed. IIRC, @PierM sent a PM to Frank R asking for a status report - awaiting a reply. Yawn. Not only do Line 6 staff no longer bother to visit here, but it also looks like they no longer take any interest in IdeaScale. I tried to email the contact on IdeaScale and got the email bounced. When I checked his profile on LinkedIn, he ceased working for Line 6 way back in 2015. Have a cool Yule. Ho, Ho, Ho !
  2. Hi, Derek, From looking at the manual for the HX Effects, it would appear that this is not possible. Unlike the HX Stomp which is designed to accept an external footswitch, the FX unit only connects expression pedals, or can be used to switch channels on an amplifier. If you want to access the onboard Looper functions of the FX, you could use MIDi to do this. Check the Owner’s Manual > Page 49 > MIDI. There are a set of MIDI CC messages specifically to control the Looper. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a411710a6112a67116f0b/application/pdf/HX Effects 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev C - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  3. Hi, I just had a look at the link for @hernan93, and in the description where he mentions those particular IRs he also states: “If you don't have the IRs please set it with the stock 1960 T75 and 83 cond mic, 1,25 distance, low-cut 80, hi-cut 12000.” That is essentially what I suggested in my previous post. Plus - you should note that unless you are using the same guitar, pickups, string gauge (and brand), monitor system and environment - any preset downloaded from CustomTone will sound different to the way the guy who posted it thinks it does. Best thing is to “roll your own” and use the download as a reference file only. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  4. Hi, Best guess as to who would know what they are is whoever posted the preset to CustomTone. Try giving them a shout directly It doesn't help that you didn't give a name, or a link to the preset, because there are literally millions of IRs out there in the world to choose from, and unless they are in the public domain you will have to pay for them. Usually they are sold in packs that may contain hundreds of cabs shot with different mics and you only really want the 2 used in this preset. Why not simply play around with the new Helix options for the Marshall 4x12 Greenbacks, and the 4x12 1960 T75 models and see how close you can get. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. Looks like it was changed - In the Owner's Manual for version 3.0 it states: NOTE: You can also customize footswitches from the "Bypass Assign" screen (or HX Edit editor application!) The Command Center - Customize footswitch label option is not available if you have selected an HX Preset, HX Snapshot, or HX Looper type command.
  6. Yeah! It’s like a ghost town in here - you can almost see the tumbleweed rolling through the deserted streets! Edit: Maybe they really are working on Helix Mk2
  7. Community is set to Read Only. Any update operation is not allowed. Not sure if IdeaScale is working for you, but I (and others) haven’t been able to register a vote for the last couple of weeks. See above. ^^^^^ I’ve also seen a post from a guy who tried to register to post a suggestion and has had nil response for over a week. AFAIK, @PierM sent a PM to Frank asking for a status report - awaiting a reply. Yawn. Not only do Line 6 staff not bother to visit here, it appears they no longer take any interest in IdeaScale. I tried to email the contact on IdeaScale and got the email bounced. When I checked his profile on LinkedIn, he ceased working for Line 6 way back in 2015. Jeeziz! Maybe time to move on over to TGP full time! link:
  8. Hi, I would suggest the standard ticket option with Customer Support. Although, IIRC, the “fast Native cursor” issue was supposed to have been addressed in the latest release of Helix Native and HX Edit version 3.51. I realise this would not solve the Stomp hardware encoder, but it may be worth verifying if the problem with Native is actually fixed in the new version which was released on 29 November 2022, prior to your first post in this thread and only mentions v.3.50. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. As this is a privately published book, not in the public domain, I would encourage you to seriously consider paying the author for all the work that went into creating this extremely valuable resource. How would you react if someone stole from you?
  10. You saying that you didn't know? Shock, horror!
  11. Hi, FYI, there are differences between mic and guitar cables - basic info here. https://neaera.com/microphone-cable-vs-instrument-cable/ Regarding the Helix outputs see the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual - page 63 - Global Settings>Ins/Outs https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev F - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. True - a glitch would possibly be a more appropriate description of the issue. Luckily, I have not experienced this, but a selectable response curve, added to the speed of the encoders, would seem to be a good idea. I understand the reasoning behind the modification to the speed in the first instance, because of the amount of criticism from users. Although, it now appears the second “drastically improved” version may have been a step too far for some.
  13. Ah, well, you decided consult and then post a reply to a thread that is 2 years old. You could have delved a little deeper and found the latest attempt to help folk out of screwed up installations. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi, Check the posted screenshots above - the “recreated” patch from the HD 500 in HX Edit is using the Legacy FX - Boost Comp, Seeker and Pattern Tremelo. The issue appears to be with the Pattern Tremelo effect. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Hi, After many, many user complaints about the encoder reaction speeds we got this when way back in November 2021 Line 6 released firmware v.3.15, and the release notes contained this bulleted comment under the “Other Changes and Improvements” paragraph. Encoder ballistics have been improved. For parameters with hundreds of values, you can now go from Min to Max in a couple of turns Subsequently, the release notes for the latest firmware v.3.50 contain this bulleted comment under the “Other Changes and Improvements” paragraph. Encoder ballistics have been drastically improved. For example, tonestack values can go from 0.0 to 10.0 with one turn This is obviously one of those “Goldilocks” situations that doesn’t work for everyone, in fact there is actually some question as to whether there is a bug in the changes to the encoders which has made some of them cease to work properly. We await a reply from Support regarding this. Meanwhile, you could always revert to an earlier firmware release but, if you have made any new presets using 3.50 they will not be compatible with earlier iterations of the firmware. Your decision. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  16. Hi, FYI, The firmware for your Helix unit remains at v.3.50, BUT, HX Edit and Helix Native have been updated to v.3.51 to fix certain bugs! It is advisable to update those 2 items. Hope this helps/makes sense. From the Release Notes: HX Edit 3.51 Release Notes HX Edit 3.51 (released November 29, 2022) includes bug fixes and additional improvements, and is strongly recommended for all users. This update applies only to HX Edit and Helix Native software; there is currently no 3.51 firmware planned for Helix and HX hardware.
  17. Hi, There are no Line staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums” This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. You should use this thread to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. https://line6.com/support/topic/14497-helix-ideascale-community-submissions/ Hope this helps/makes sense. Additional EDIT: There appears to be some sort of malfunction on IdeaScale that is not allowing additions or edits right now. Keep trying, but don’t hold your breath - PRS have only just released these amps, I can’t see this happening anytime soon.
  18. I’m with @rd2rk on this one - what display are you referring to?
  19. Hi, Your post is really vague! Did you have Helix Native previously installed and fully functional on this “new Mac” and now the update to v3.51 fails to connect? More details regarding this whole set up is required to be able to really assist. Full spec on Mac and OS, what version of Helix Native etc. If you need to re-install, there is a whole set of step by step instructions of what to remove and where it lives on your Mac, posted in these threads - have a look. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  20. That’s a typical Tier 1 boilerplate response, it needs to be escalated to Tier 2 or even better 3. We all know that in here we are the generally entry level, Tier 0 support, but can actually function as unpaid level 2 or 3 customer support for the products. Line 6 really do need to start taking a hands on approach to stuff that goes on in here.
  21. Hi, Something very odd going on with the IdeaScale at the moment, because a couple of people have reported that they had found that trying to “upvote” a suggestion did not register. In fact, trying to vote brought up this message:- Community is set to Read Only. Any update operation is not allowed. An email to the listed contact was bounced by the mail sever as undeliverable - when I check further the guy who’s email was listed hasn’t worked for Line 6 since April 2015. @PierM has said that he has sent an email directly to Frank Ritchotte. We will have to see how that pans out. It’s real good fun in here - I’m not surprised that you are spending more time over at TGP.
  22. Hi, To downgrade to need to follow the procedure for using the Line 6 Updater Utility in offline mode as described in this thread, but any reference to the firmware number needs to be the version that you wish to revert to eg: v 3.15. Also bear in mind that you need to have the same version of HX Edit as the firmware's ensure that the versions match by deleting the newer v3.50 (or 3.51) that you may have installed. Good Luck! Hope this helps/makes sense
  23. Not really a mystery - according to his status on LinkedIn, he left Line 6 way back in 2015, that explains the failed mail. https://www.linkedin.com/in/stevendevino/ Same old, same old in here. They just don’t care - maybe time to visit TGP or Facebook.
  24. That would be a very good point, but the same message occurs if you try to upvote anything in the Catalyst, or POD/Firehawk sections of IdeaScale. As the message states “Community is set to Read Only” it would seem to be throughout the site. The “Contact” menu button at the bottom of the page simply gives an email link to <sdevino@line6.com> which I intend try now. EDIT: My email to the listed contact was bounced by the mail sever as undeliverable - very efficient!
  25. Hi, Hmm…? Something very odd going on with the IdeaScale at the moment, because a couple of people have reported that they had found that trying to “upvote” a suggestion did not register. In fact, trying to vote brought up this message:- Community is set to Read Only. Any update operation is not allowed. I’m not sure what is going on there, and I’m not even sure who should be responsible for the maintenance of that site. I will have a scout around for any other reports of this issue and see if I can find a way to report this situation. Thanks for advising the current status.
